i am Not one to spend money on games but i uh. may have spent an ungodly amount of money trying to get her stars (and even then im not even at 2* yet. SIGH)

ANYWAY after the corrupted vanilla piece i did not think id have the energy to do another complex piece anytime soon but then. women. and i got a little inspired

when i was like 80% done i found a really cool brush set for painting little gilded (hence the piece name) golden details and i went a little insane with it. really like how it turned out !!!

also, as a bonus… this is how the initial sketch looked like HAHA

i was testing the idea of sketching by shapes instead of lines and it proved to be really useful! really recommend it

… anyway don’t get too used to these pieces tho i am NOT doing another one of these for a while LMAO prepare for doodles bc i also got a really cute colored pencil/crayon brush set and i really wanna test it out

I’ve been trying to phrase something I really want to say but can’t because I’m not a philosophical person nor can I write that good so I’m just gonna say it like I have it in mind.

If you’re unhappy with your art, the way it looks and such, and you keep comparing to other artists’ skills thinking “I’m never going to be good enough” “I wish I could draw like that”, remember that no artist was born with “talent” for as much as people may say that to us. We weren’t pushed out of the womb with a pencil in our hands, we actually had to practice and endure a lot of hard work and burnout and pressure to get to where we are; and yet we still can improve FURTHER because art has absolutely no limits. No you’re not stuck in bad lineart or bad anatomy “phase” because you can always give yourself that little push to finally start feeling proud of what you create.

It’s never late to start studying more, practicing more, and getting to know your style. If you so admire an artist, then reach them. Make art for yourself and make it look good to yourself, not for others nor anything else.

Here's some mild Shadowsugar/Purelily This is based on some dialogue of Shadow Milk's in the Korean translation but there's many other reasons for this tooo here's more babies

You might find that I draw a lot of babies, I can't help it because they're so cute and pudgy!! It's also very interesting to see how a character would look so long ago and how much they've changed This is not necessarily Shadowsugar so you can make of it what you will and interpret it however you want

Akari using Camellia Breathing, which was inspired by the Ufotable official arts! I wanted to make her visuals look like a sheath of thin fabric with flowers and subtle art nouveau motifs. I also added flying nichirin needles like she threw them with her sword mid battle. Coming up with the pose was tricky too since I tried committing to her being left-handed.

The kny artstyle is super challenging, turns out theres a lot more process when I look at it further, but this was fun to do.
