Even the primaries are a step in the right direction!bon voyage soon Mayor Adams 👋 byeeeee
might be high on hopium and other substances rn but this strong showing for Mamdani in NYC gives me more hope for Luigi
(vastly different situations I know, and this was only the primary, but Mamdani has had-and will continue to have-so much shit thrown at him by those who are rich in money and bankrupt in morals and New Yorkers didn’t fall for it)

We ALWAYS need more public transportation, not less! I don’t live in PA but I was in Philly last week. Rode the SEPTA and it is always so handy and nice!
The Transit Funding Crisis
If you live in Pennsylvania, please contact your state senators and ask them to fully fund public transit. You can also use this 1-click form from Transit For All PA!
Text: My friends are probably tired of hearing me talk about public transit… But my local transit system, SEPTA, is planning to cut service by 45% if they don't get enough state funding at the end of June. Some people say we can't afford to fund transit, but not funding it would be much more expensive, placing a huge additional burden on car infrastructure and devastating the economy. I don't want to own a car, so it's hard for me to imagine a future living in the Philadelphia area with these transit cuts. And other U.S. cities are facing similar issues. Last week I joined my fellow advocates at the state capitol to rally with Transit For All PA! to promote a viable transit funding solution for all of Pennsylvania. Hundreds of people showed up on Wednesday morning to support the campaign! I don't know how this will turn out, but I'm hopeful. I won't stop talking about public transit until… well, ever, but especially until Pennsylvania gets the transit funding we need.

Luigi cracked these issues wide open for a lot of people, intentionally or not! Please if you care about people who incarcerated in the US and their wellbeing, *do something* about it!
Whatever you can. Find a prisoner pen pal program. Write or call you representatives. Pay attention!
Sorry I got distracted! I’m back with documentary recommendations!
The Farm: Angola, USA : probably my favorite. There was so much corruption in this prison (and honestly still is), but this film spoke volumes to be about rehabilitative practices. It’s older and I’d do a bit more research on the highlighted inmates and history of the prison, but this prison’s story is incredible. In a good and awful way. Must watch!! The prison does an annual rodeo now for the public!
Locked up in America (FRONTLINE - PBS) : great debate in this one! It’s shorter but gripping
Redemption Project with Van Jones : this one is about reintegration after incarceration. It’s a bit more recent and from the perspective of pro-reformation
From Reform to Abolition: the Future of the US Prison System (TED) : not a huge Ted talk fan, but this was good!! It’s basically about if we should change our prison system or abolish it
I haven’t watched it myself, but I’ve also heard that 13th on Netflix is really good!! It seems great and I’ve been recommended it a ton, I just haven’t gotten to it myself!
Basically, there’s a lot out there on the topic! It’s very interesting to learn about and I feel like there’s a ton I’m forgetting. Hopefully this is enough to get you started :) a lot of these are more focused on American prison’s systemic racial inequalities, but I’ll be back soon with more comparative pieces on our prison systems vs. others and how our prisons and privatized for some god awful reason and largely funded by political figures, corporations, and firearm manufacturers :)
thank you so much for this!!!💚💚please feel free to recommend more if you can think of any i love documentaries
also if anybody wants to watch the farm for free i found it on the internet archive <3

Totally agree!! I would wager some of the larger anonymous donations are from either celebrities or other successful/wealthy people in the private sector.
I don’t care if they want to remain anonymous, as long as they keep the money coming!!
I was looking through the really big legal fund donations that have come in every once in a while, and it got me thinking back to one of Hasan's streams where he was browsing Thompson's LinkedIn (I think it was Hasan? I can't find it now so if anybody knows what I'm talking about please share lol) and so many of the angry comments on Thompson's posts were from not just ordinary people but other CEOs cursing him and the company out
And like...make no mistake the ultra-wealthy absolutely want Luigi's head (and it’s why I fear he will never be safe enough to live freely in America again even if by some miracle he beats *all* the charges) but I think it's important to keep in mind how many "lesser" rich people also despise health insurance companies because they're an absolute pain in the ass to deal with on top of everything else that comes with being a businessowner - they too would benefit from single-payer healthcare
I don’t expect to see wealthy folks screaming Free Luigi from the rooftops anytime soon bc they obviously don’t want targets on their backs, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is more quiet support for him within those circles than we might think. Especially now that what should have been a straightforward murder case has been needlessly blown up into a much bigger political mess, with a lot of dangerous implications to anyone who cares about human rights and the future of the justice system

Seriously like has no one on the internet (looking at you 👀 twitter, discord and Reddit) ever read a fucking poem or short story before? Lmao 😂
you could at least be fantasizing about how hot he’d look gearing up to kill the icky bug on your bedroom floor but instead you’re having a breakdown and calling him cringe bc he committed the heinous crime of telling a story in an engaging way
ok

Whoever this anon person is; if you don’t like it don’t read it. I can’t remember who first said on here something VERY eloquently about the “female gaze” and how it relates to him, to the stories people are writing, etc. but like this is how some women cope with heavy stuff. A beautifully written, lovely little story. If you don’t like that, go away why are you still here? To troll? There’s a place that rhymes with “spread it” for that.
dont you feel ashamed doing all of this fanfic stuff? luigi hates you for sure
Lol okay

I have friends born in the US (sisters) who always loved to travel, and after Covid and all of the things they were like fuck this and moved to Italy 💫
They are now citizens. It took them a while, but they got there. There’s always hope 🌟✨

And she said if the Court doesn’t intervene now it will already be too late. Not too late for a not guilty verdict to happen if/when a federal trial takes place, but it would be too late for the most basic tenets of the Constitution to be upheld or respected in this early phase of the federal case. The Crypt Keeper (aka the AG) already fucked that up… only way to solidify this Court’s position on the right side of history is to give Karen what she’s asking for. ✨
FEDERAL CASE UPDATE: 4/16/25

Karen Agnifilo has replied to the Government's response regarding Mangione's motion. The defense states, "The Government failed to challenge requests (iii) -(iv) in their response and has therefore conceded these points." Additionally, they noted why the issue is ripe, despite the Government saying otherwise, and asks the Court enter an Order granting their requests.
"Without this Court's intervention, the Government will continue to violate Mr. Mangione's due process rights as they seek the death penalty."
