playing the sitar, veena, harmonium, tabla in the afternoon

putting gajras in your hair

wearing anklets and hearing them chime as you walk into old monuments

debating about scientific theories and new discoveries on the terrace at night in summers (instead of sleeping)

researching about the secrets of ayurveda and debunking all the nuske your daadi and naani use

studying frantically on the floor and listening to desi music so as to not fall asleep

drinking chai, filter coffee or kesar dudh (saffron milk)

wearing traditional clothes and jewellery to lectures

speaking multiple languages and mixing them up till it doesn't even make sense

reading on the roof tops

running outside when it rains in summer

cursing in your native language

doodling mehendi (henna) designs lectures

eating gol gappe and talking about stars (or the lack of)

discussing politics while commuting in trains

wandering old libraries

wearing jhumke and bindi to feel put together

listening to the radio in the early hours of the morning

arguing with people because they're illogical (usually family)

doing assignments late into the night

occasionally going to favourite places while running errands or after lectures

researching true crime cases in between classes and sharing interesting articles with other true crime enthusiasts

learning about the history of nearby forts, ancestral mansions, palaces and temples

casually eating while doing anything related to academics
