When I was a child, I always made my bed and placed a stuffed animal right in the middle. Now, at 26, I find myself doing the same. My mom mailed me one for Christmas, and in some way, fixed some part of me. We don't have the best relationship and might not ever, but she always knows when to gesture that she still cares when I need to be reminded of it the most. Mother’s intuition, maybe?
