Time Manifesto
Over my time in the class, my modules have varied but most of them had a common theme which was time. One example was the module 2 assignment in which it had a picture of clocks that represented times in different ways. Furthermore, Another example is Module 14 which had a painting of clocks melting down showcasing how life fades away and time should be used efficiently in a way that there are no regrets. In addition In module 9, I showed pictures of darkness which some described the challenging times one goes through in their life and how one can better oneself after facing them. The concept of time is something that I've always been interested in as the ones who understand the meaning of time and know how to control it, can change and direct their fates. Furthermore, Time is more than just a series of moments that pass by, it's a dynamic force that shapes people and their experiences and serves as a vital catalyst for human development and evolution. As The very process of time offers chances for growth, introspection, and radical shift, promoting the development of a person's knowledge, viewpoint, and character. Similarly, The passage of time also helps with self-reflection. People have times of reflection as they move through different stages of life, reviewing choices, actions, and behaviors from the past. Self-awareness is made possible by this introspective process, which enables people to see their values, aspirations, strengths, and shortcomings. Reflection over time promotes self-improvement and a greater comprehension of one's motivations and views, which in turn promotes personal growth. For example, I once failed a test and felt disappointed on myself and sad, but as time went by I reflected on my mistake and learned to be prepared for the next time I take an exam. This experience over time helped grow as a person and increased my chances of being successful on future tests. Time also offers the chance for ongoing education and skill improvement. Individuals gain knowledge, skills, and competence as they go through life through formal education, work experiences, and personal pursuits. As time goes on, abilities can be improved and new ones can be learned, which promotes both professional and personal development. Ongoing education fosters creativity and adaptation, which helps people prosper in a variety of settings and changing conditions. Furthermore, the way people mature is another example of how time plays a part in personal growth. People grow older and experience changes in their physical, emotional, and psychological makeup. Life experiences and acquired knowledge work together to enhance emotional intelligence, empathy, and perspective. People may handle relationships, difficulties, and complexities with more maturity and understanding as a result of this growth. In addition, Time also acts as a stimulant for goal-setting and achievement. Time is limited, which forces people to set priorities and make efficient use of their time in order to achieve their goals. Establishing deadlines for goals promotes concentration, tenacity, and a feeling of success when they are reached. Setting and achieving objectives helps people grow as people, giving them resilience, tenacity, and a sense of direction. By setting deadlines one can achieve much more than what they first expected as deadlines make individuals stay focused and makes them invest time to complete the certain goal.
Similarly, due to time being limited, it emphasizes a sense of urgency. Time itself is an unrelenting reminder that moments are fleeting and irreversible. There is a sense of urgency to fully utilize the present as every second that goes by reduces the amount of time that is available. People are motivated to prioritize their objectives, make quick decisions, and move quickly when they recognize that waiting around could result in missing out on chances. This is because time is a finite resource. The sense of time being limited helped me achieve many goals in my life and helped me leave my comfort zone to reach new heights. This was due to the fact that I understand that time is limited and every moment should be appreciated and used in a way that doesn't leave you any regrets. Therefore, although some of my blogs were different many emphasized the importance and value of time.

Module 14 Assignment: Ekphrasis
Tumblr media
Upon the sandy ground, a field of clocks lies strewn,
Their faces frozen, their hands askew at noon,
Time's relics scattered, ticking in disarray,
A surreal sight where moments lose their way.
Some lay dormant, their ticking ceased to be,
Echoes of seconds lost in eternity,
While others still cling to the fading light,
A futile effort to defy the endless flight.
Clocks, once keepers of life's measured beat,
Now lie abandoned in this time-worn desert,
Their shattered glass reflects a fractured view,
A poignant tale of hours lost, overdue.
For in this tapestry of ticking art,
Lies a reminder, though worlds apart,
That amid life's fleeting, chaotic sounds,
It's in each moment, that true treasure is found.
For my work, I chose one of Salvador Dali's paintings which intrigues me because of its interesting design. One of the things I noticed was clocks each having a different time set. As I looked deeper I noticed that the clocks were melting meaning that one's time runs only once and its never infinite. Another thing I noticed was how the clocks were set in a desert abandoned by themselves, meaning that time can also be harmed or wasted if not used correctly. An efficient use of time allows you to prioritize tasks, allocate time appropriately, and focus on important activities. Which can lead to increased productivity and the ability to make your time worthwhile within a set timeframe and not be wasted. My translation is similar to the original, keeping the essence of time but making it have a deeper meaning. The painting has a plain meaning of time running out but my poem makes it deeper by adding unique perspectives of life. Moreover, this perspective makes the poem deeper making time something that should be taken care of and cherished as time only moves forward.

Module 13 Assignment: Not Seen on TV
The video sculpture "Ascension" by Bill Viola offers a thorough examination of transcendence, spirituality, and the human experience. The artwork depicts a lone individual rising slowly in slow motion while shrouded in darkness. With his trademark slow-motion technique, Viola emphasizes the importance of the human form and its emotional journey by allowing for a prolonged consideration of each moment. The presumably androgynous focal figure rises through what looks to be fluid or maybe water. The movement of the body conveys a calm impression of weightlessness and suspension in time because it is intentional, deliberate, and deliberate. The figure's look, which invites viewers to reflect on the stage of transition and metamorphosis, is calm but contemplative as they climb. The film also shows how liberated moving pictures can be when they are not restricted by a linear story. Conventional cinema and video storytelling often follow a predetermined storyline with a beginning, middle, and conclusion, emphasizing character growth and a progression of events. But pieces like "Ascension" go beyond these norms, providing a non-linear visual experience that conveys ideas more deeply and abstractly. Taking a break from traditional narrative storytelling, Viola uses the emotive power of motion pictures to convey ideas through sensory immersion, symbolism, and emotion. A more individualized and subjective interpretation is made possible by the lack of a rigid plot, which draws viewers in on a visceral and reflective level. Additionally, “Ascension” speaks on several levels and invites spectators to consider topics of transcendence, spirituality, and the human condition. The film stimulates reflection and thought on existence, transformation, and the indescribable aspects of life without overtly expressing a single theme. "Ascension" appears to capture the essence of the human search for enlightenment and transcendence. The lone figure's gradual rise represents a metaphysical or spiritual voyage, implying a departure from the material world and the climb to a higher plane of existence. Furthermore, the viola purposefully uses slow motion to prolong each frame, allowing spectators to reflect on the importance of the figure's movements and provoking ideas about personal development, self-discovery, and the pursuit of a greater purpose in life. The film invites viewers to reflect on existential issues and the mysteries of human life rather than taking a clear critical stance on any part of culture. Instead of adhering to a preconceived societal critique, "Ascension" fosters personalized connections based on personal experiences and ideas by forsaking a chronological storyline and encouraging the audience to interpret the visuals in their own manner.

Module 12 Assignment: Tragedy Scripted and Staged
The scenario ghost's appearance appealed to me since it creates a tension-filled, suspenseful mood right away. The eerie glow created by dim or flickering lights emphasizes the otherworldly atmosphere. A feeling of dread settles over the room as the figures assemble on the battlements of the castle. Like the characters, the spectator is kept in suspense and is unsure of what will happen next.In addition, the scary presence of the ghost, which appeared on stage clothed in regal regalia or armor, added to the feeling of mystery that was already there. The performer creates a feeling of the otherworldly with his gestures and facial emotions. The whole mystery is compounded by the ghost's purposeful, spectral movements and majestic look. which piqued my attention and left me with a lot of questions. Similarly, I liked how each character came to life in this scene. For instance one of the main characters in this scene is the ghost of King Hamlet, and its arrival is crucial. A strange and unsettling presence must be conveyed by the actor playing the ghost. This may be accomplished with makeup and costumes, with the ghost usually wearing armor or regal clothing. The figure should move in a methodical, otherworldly manner that evokes an ethereal aspect. The ghost is conveying a vital message to Hamlet, thus its movements and facial expressions should convey a feeling of urgency and desire. Furthermore, Hamlet's responses to the ghost give life to his character. He was visibly shocked and terrified when he first saw the apparition, showing his gullibility and weakness. As the scenario develops, Hamlet's courage and his intense desire to learn the truth about his father's death are revealed by his resolve to follow the ghost in spite of his anxiety. The success of this moment depends heavily on the actor's representation of Hamlet's inner struggle. In addition, the supporting roles in the scene that Horatio and Marcellus play. Being Hamlet's dependable friend, Horatio tried to show concern for his security and welfare. On the other hand, Marcellus can draw attention to the tension and discomfort that permeate the air. These characters function as witnesses to the supernatural occurrence and aid in bringing the situation closer to reality. Moreover, The stage is frequently built to imitate the castle's battlements in order to convey a sense of fragility and height. This location highlights the ghost's ghostly quality and makes for striking silhouettes. To keep the audience's attention on the primary action, the stage design allows for plenty of character activity. Similarly, An important part of creating the mood for the ghost's appearance is the lighting design. The scene's spooky and otherworldly feel is enhanced by the dim lights. In order to capture the audience's attention to this mysterious apparition and deepen its feeling. In the same way, Ghostly whispers, spooky music, or other frightening noises are examples of sound effects that are crucial to establishing the overall mood. These cues intensify the sensation of dread and the paranormal in the viewer. The sound design enhances the scene's audio depth and heightens its emotional effect.

Module 11 Assignment: Anatomy of a Scene
             Moonlight
The drama film Moonlight portrays a timeless and poignant tale of a young man's quest for love and self-acceptance; each act depicts a distinct phase of Chiron's life and the struggles and changes he faces along the way. The film has outstanding performances, a deep narrative, and an examination of thought-provoking issues.
It uses dramatic cinematography to create a visual ambiance that reflects Chiron, the main character's emotional journey. The movie is renowned for its use of personal close-ups, which let viewers empathize with the characters on a deep level. The emotional effect of the movie is enhanced by these close-ups, which highlight the minute details of the actor's facial expressions and feelings.
Similarly "Moonlight" has expert editing that keeps the story's emotional effect intact. The three separate acts that make up the film's structure let viewers see Chiron's transformation from a helpless youngster to a tough adult. The editing creates a coherent and emotionally compelling story by smoothly alternating between these levels.
                                                  Some like it Hot
As Joe and Jerry battle to keep their disguises while fending off amorous attempts from both men and women, the movie explores misidentification, genderbending, and absurd circumstances. The movie builds to a tremendously entertaining and memorable conclusion that has made "Some Like It Hot" one of the most popular comedies in movie history as the mobsters close in and the romantic entanglements get increasingly complicated.
The scene where the interaction was the sensual interaction between Tony Curtis's character, Joe, who is disguised as Josephine. In this scene, the all-female jazz band's gorgeous and slightly naïve singer Sugar Kane is having trouble applying suntan lotion to her back. Joe, posing as Josephine, takes advantage of the chance to assist her in putting on the lotion, which sparks a seductive and amorous exchange. Joe's awkward attempts to suppress his passion and keep his mask intact make for a hilarious lesson in seduction.
Additionally, The water and the surrounding shoreline serve as the scene's backdrop, which is a sun-kissed Florida beach. The characters' interactions and reactions are highlighted by the thoughtful composition of the photos. The segment is dominated by close-ups and medium views that highlight Joe and Sugar Kane's expressions and body language. The chemistry between the characters is shown in these pictures when the viewer is given a close-up look at them. In addition, the beach contributed to the romantic and relaxed atmosphere. The relaxing environment encourages the characters to let their guard down and engage in their interactions.
Similar to that, this scene's natural sunshine plays a crucial role in heightening its sensuality. The figures are bathed in a warm, pleasing glow from the sunshine, which draws attention to their features and heightens the romantic atmosphere. It shines on their skin, adding to the scene's emotional appeal.
Furthermore, this scene's effectiveness is greatly influenced by the editing. The cuts are deliberate and tactical. The impression of attraction and desire is heightened by rapid cuts between the faces of the protagonists. Close-ups of Joe and Sugar Kane highlight their emotional bond as they exchange looks and comments. Longer shots let the audience fully grasp the scene's comedy and sexiness by capturing the characters' changing dynamic.

Module 10 Discussion: The Godfather and La Jetée
The Godfather
It's a deep multi-leveled story that mixes together themes of power, family, and morality, the script is a masterfully written piece of art. The narrative progresses precisely, holding the audience's attention from the opening sequence until the famous last moment with Michael Corleone's metamorphosis. The film's profundity and intellectual aspirations are reflected in the script's examination of the moral quandaries of its characters, especially Michael. It asks spectators to consider the ramifications of their own decisions and moral standards, making a deep impression on those who witness it. Additionally, the characters and their growth. "The Godfather" boasts an impressive group of actors, each with unique reasons and captivating storylines. Audiences may relate to the characters in "The Godfather" deeply because they seem like genuine individuals with complicated inner lives and moral issues. I liked how each character had character development in the story and had backgrounds that gave each one a unique identity.
La Jetée
The movie forces viewers to actively engage with the story. It is up to the viewers to make the necessary connections, use their imaginations, and finish the tale in their heads. Because of this degree of involvement, the movie becomes a very intimate and immersive experience that lets each audience member understand the narrative in their own special manner. Furthermore, it shows that emotional feelings don't need to be sacrificed in experimental storytelling. In order to explore themes of love, grief, and the human condition, the movie immerses the viewer in a universe where time travel, memory, and existential concerns interact. I like how the movie is focused on science fiction as is one of my favorite genres and the way it places more emphasis on reasoning than on emotional manipulation.

Module 9 Assignment: Photographer’s Eye
The theme for the photos is night and darkness it revolves around the idea that the night has different meanings. Due to the inherent features of darkness, obscurity, and the unknown, night serves as a potent metaphor for challenging periods and phases in one's life. Similar to how darkness casts an ambiguous curtain over the earth, difficult times frequently surround people in doubt and confusion. There are times when it feels like you're walking in the dark, with no sense of direction or clarity. The lack of light in the night represents the absence of a clear way forward and reflects the mental and emotional anguish that frequently accompanies difficulties. Moreover, darkness is a period of vulnerability. People may struggle with their uncertainties, worries, and insecurities in the dark, which are sometimes exacerbated during difficult circumstances. The stillness of the night might make one feel more alone in the face of difficulty. It's a time for reflection and introspection when people face their fears and monsters within. Similar to how darkness gradually gives way to light, challenging times in life can eventually result in perseverance, personal development, and a fresh start. In the end, overcoming obstacles during one's darkest moments can lead to a more promising future by teaching important lessons and deepening one's appreciation for the light that follows. In this sense, the night is a moving metaphor for the path of transformation that comes from facing hardship. In addition, night is the time when day gives way to night, a daily transition that denotes change. This shift is a metaphoric passage from one phase to another, not only the light going out. Nightfall frequently denotes the conclusion of the day's activities and offers a moment for introspection and closure. It captures the concept that change is a normal and unavoidable aspect of life in this way. Furthermore, the periodic pattern of day and night adds to its symbolic meaning of transformation. In a never-ending cycle, day follows night and night follows day. This never-ending cycle represents the constant flow of life, where new chances and difficulties arise every night. It reminds us that change is an ongoing process, and just as night returns, so does change.
Tumblr media
This picture shows a dark road which emphasizes that one's life path can sometimes be dark and challenging.
Tumblr media
This picture  shows a forest under the night which evokes a sense of confidence ,motivating individuals to confront their fears and uncertainties. It encourages individuals to get out of their comort zone, to confront challenges head on and to take risks.
Tumblr media
This Picture shows the full moon which occurs at the halfway point of the lunar cycle, it symbolizes a balance between conflicting forces. It represents the notion of achieving contentment and balance in one's life.
Tumblr media
This photo emphasizes that the concept of a person's individual life path might be symbolized by the fact that every star in the sky is unique. It inspires us to accept our uniqueness and go on our own path instead than attempting to live up to the expectations of others.
Tumblr media
This picture shows that even in darkness there will always be light It emphasizes that no matter how challenging a situation may seem, there is always a ray of hope or a positive aspect that can be found. It gives many people more reason to be positive and supports the belief that challenges can always be overcome.

Module 8 Assignment: Your Musical Theme
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
The theme I picked for the songs is “motivation” as it's a great factor in my life in getting me to keep achieving things and never give up. Every area of our lives is significantly impacted by motivation. It influences us in many ways, acting as the impetus for our feelings, ideas, and actions. Motivation forces us to make plans for our personal, professional, or health-related goals and gives us the drive and willpower to see those plans through to completion. It helps us stay motivated and persevere in our struggles in the face of difficulties. Furthermore, a positive attitude toward life is typically the result of motivation, which causes us to see setbacks as chances for personal development.
The first song “Jumbo” by NoCopyrightSounds” is an electro-style song that starts slow and speeds up the more it goes, I believe it signifies a change in mindset from a negative one to one full of energy. This song gives the motivational sense that in difficult moments in life, a change of mindset can make you be full of energy and have the desire to not fall down but to rise up.
The second song "Reverse Situation" from “Naruto Shippuden” is a battle-themed song that shows the battle we all have with ourselves and our mindsets. It reflects the struggle between our goals and self-doubt is one of the most common ones. As we doubt our potential, value, and the viability of our aspirations. Similarly, fear has the power to imprison us, preventing us from accepting change and taking chances. This theme song shows the inner struggle and how with a motivated mindset we can win all the battles limiting our own potential.
The third song “You Say Run” from “My Hero Academia” is another battle-themed song that has epic melodies and can instantly lift one spirit. Similarly to the last battle song this one focuses on going beyond your limits and achieving new heights for yourself. This song can help us to not set limits on ourselves but to have the determination to keep going forward until we achieve our goals.
The fourth song “ Never Give Up” by "NEFFEX" is a hip-hop song that highlights tenacity and resolve in its lyrics. They serve as a reminder that despite life's challenges and ups and downs, giving up is never an option. The song inspires us to keep going on in the face of hardship. For instance Lines like "I'll keep my head up high" and "I'm gonna make it" show a sense of confidence and determination to keep going and not give up.
The fifth song "Eye Of The Tiger" by "Survivor" is a rock song that is full of references to the human spirit's tenacity, will, and persistence. The theme appeals to our inner warriors, inspiring us to take on obstacles head-on and resist giving up in the face of difficulty. Similarly, It gives us an instant energy boost as our attention is drawn in and our heart rate increases by the song's strong and upbeat tempo. This will awaken our senses and make us feel more alive and prepared to face difficulties.
The sixth song “Keep Ya Head Up" by "Tupac Shakur" is a rap motivational song that highlights the value of persistence and the capacity to overcome obstacles. It acts as a reminder that we all possess the ability to persist in the face of adversity. Furthermore, The song encourages us to defend our identities and convictions. As it reminds us that we have the ability to take charge of our lives and create positive changes, which promotes self-empowerment.

Module 7 Assignment: Plotting
The legendary One Piece was the one treasure that motivated many pirates to go on the search for it as the treasure had everything the world had to offer. Together with his Straw Hat Pirates, Pirate Captain Monkey D. Luffy embarked on an incredible quest to find the One Piece and establish himself as the Pirate King. Every island they came across presented fresh difficulties and opportunities for cooperation as they navigated through choppy waters. They bravely faced oppressive warlords and freed oppressed kingdoms along the way, their voyage was a mosaic of solidarity and bravery. The crew's diversity matched that of the oceans. Nami, the astute navigator who aimed to navigate unexplored waters, Sanji, the dapper chef with aspirations of discovering the All Blue, and Zoro, the swordsman who aspired to become the finest in the world. Chopper the reindeer doctor, who dreamed of healing all disorders, and Usopp the storyteller, who had the aim of a sniper. Franky, the shipwright who wanted to construct a ship that could travel to the ends of the Earth, and Robin, the archaeologist who was searching for answers to old riddles. Brook, is the musician who wants to meet up with a long-lost buddy despite having a skeletal body. And Jinbe, the crew's defender and Fishman helmsman. Along the journey, they encountered many friends and allies and built up their reputation in the form of bounties. The higher the bounty the more respect and reputation a pirate would have. But the crew led by Luffy was a group of pirates that served justice as they saved many lives and whole cities through their adventures. They encountered the mysterious Road Poneglyphs mystical stones that led to the illusive Laugh Tale, the island rumored to contain the One Piece along the perilous Grand Line on their journey. They gained strong allies along the road, including the formidable pirate Shanks and the fierce warrior princess Vivi. Additionally, they encountered dangerous foes like the Yonko, the four most infamous pirates in the world, and the Seven Warlords. Although their voyage was dangerous, there were also many happy, triumphant, and humorous moments. They overthrew despotic rulers, liberated repressed cultures, and encouraged innumerable people to pursue their aspirations. After facing innumerable challenges and enemies, the Straw Hat Pirates eventually arrived at Laugh Tale, where they discovered the biggest secret of all. One of the messages engraved on the old stones said, "The treasure is the eternal bonds and friendship you share”. In the end, news about Luffy becoming the pirate king flew all over the seas and they gained a lot of popularity which inspired future generations to embark on the life of a pirate like that of Luffy.

Module 6 Assignment: Poetic License
The poem “Invictus" by William Ernest Henley is an inspirational piece of poetry that reflects the ability to not give up and shows how you have control of your life. The name of the verse, "Invictus," originates from Latin and signifies being unconquered. This name represents the theme for the whole poem as it expresses determination to never give up and eternal willpower. The poem starts off by expressing challenging situations that one could experience in life. For instance, the lines "the night that covers me" and "pit from pole to pole" represent a metaphor for obstacles and challenges that could block one's life. Moreover, the poet emphasizes the importance of having the right motivated mindset and courage when faced with difficult situations. He uses lines such as “I'm the master of my fate” to highlight the belief that, despite facing challenges and obstacles one can influence their destiny and decide on their own path in life. These lines can encourage those who are facing difficult life situations to not be afraid and ignore challenges but instead to face them head-on and try to resolve them without hesitation. In addition, the poem is a source of motivation for the readers that shows one can guide and change their own destiny. Similarly, the poem points out the idea of overcoming challenges with courage and persistence. Thus the poem "Invictus” is a showcase of the unlimited power of the human spirit and the potential we all have to never give up even in the face of difficult situations.

Module 5 Assignment: Architectural Interiors
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These pictures are from my house where I've lived for the past 8 years and have seen its improvements. It is made up of mostly yellow which emphasizes joy. Before you enter the house there is a small garden with a heart made of rocks in the front. This makes the house unique from others as it has a natural aspect to it. Moreover, you will see the living room after getting in through the front door and will see a view that creates a good vibe and makes the people who walk in the house feel like they belong there. Furthermore, the open layout makes a connection between the living room, dining table, and kitchen and makes every member of the family feel like they are not by themselves. In addition, the interior design features a modern view with light colors and emphasizes decorations to give a unique aspect to the house. Also, the house is maintained and doesn't appear in bad condition as it's always getting upgraded and cleaned.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These photos belong to the gym I go to which is  “Planet Fitness” and is the place I most visit to improve myself. It has purple and yellow colors which highlight ambition and happiness for those who exercise to have the motivation to keep going. Is a place for every kind of person, those who want to lose weight, the experienced, and the beginners. The structure is very big and wide, making room for everyone to focus on their different workouts. Just like my house, Planet Fitness manages to promote a welcoming atmosphere, where people can better themselves instead of worrying about what others might think about them.
Overall between the two my favorite is the gym as is a place where I have improved myself a lot and have bettered my mental and physical health. The vibe “Planet Fitness” has and the welcomeness makes me feel like I belong in a community of people looking for self-improvement as I am. Module assignment 4: Public Art
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sculpture “Iwo Jima Memorial” was created by Felix de Weldon in Cape Coral. The sculpture shows five marines and one navy, raising the flag of the U.S. in Suribachi, Japan during the battle of Iwo Jima in WWII. One of the main topics of the sculpture is the bravery and sacrifice of the military marine men. This sculpture stands as a reminder in honor of the sacrifices of the service members who risked their lives for the nation. Furthermore, the sculpture shows five marines and one navy working together to raise the flag. This represents a sense of unity and teamwork that is important in the military, as It shows the idea that together they could achieve a common goal. In addition, the flag that the soldiers are holding symbolizes the United States values including justice and freedom. This shows that even in hard times having a hold of the flag is a source of reminder of the nation's pride and spirit. Moreover, the sculpture also provides inspiration, as the actions of the ones who died while following their goals provide a sense of courage for those looking at the sculpture. Similarly, when people see representation in the form of sculptures of those who overcame obstacles and made positive changes in history, it motivates individuals who look at the monument to follow their own ideals and goals. Also, the people who visit this sculpture will consider the price of freedom and the importance of honoring those who have served and continue to serve in the military. Thus, the "Iwo Jima Memorial" sculpture is a strong and compelling piece of art that contains different meanings and serves as an eternal symbol of the important role of military service.

Module 3 Assignment: Abstract Images
Tumblr media
The painting is called Artillery by “Roger de la Fresnaye”. I was drawn to this painting as I saw what seemed to be different people working together for a common goal. I connect to this piece in the idea that anything can be accomplished with teamwork as many people working together for one goal will always be stronger than one. All the people in the painting are doing a different activity that contributes to one goal. For instance, the people looking through the scopes for the enemies, the ones signaling to keep going forward with a flag, and the ones in horses pulling a war weapon. They are all working together to improve efficiency and are playing to one other's strengths. As the ones in the front will be receiving information about the enemy from the ones with the scopes, and the ones with the scopes will be protected by the ones in front. Moreover being in a team with the same goal has a high meaning to me because when I used to play basketball team coordination and the ability to have diverse skill sets would be the winning factor. This ability to synergize with each other would make the victory even more satisfying as we all share the same purpose. In addition, the painting seems to symbolize an ongoing battlefield of soldiers wearing red and blue representing the French Infantry, working together in the times before World War I. Similarly, just like in basketball, these soldiers are cooperating for the same objective, to defend their country. Therefore, the meaning of this picture may vary if you view it from the outside, but it has a deeper meaning when looked at from a different perspective, that together anything is possible.

Module 2 Assignment: Representative Work
Tumblr media
This picture might look like clocks from the outside but it has a deeper meaning when looked from a different perspective. The amount of clocks with different time sets shows that every one goes at their own pace and their lives are different from eachother. For example one clock has less time than the other, this shows that people are at different time in their life. This connects to me because I usually compare myself to others that are at a better point than me. Therefore this picture helps me understand that everyone goes at their own pace for their goals, even if we all have the same goal the speed we get there is different and some people might be at a different lifepoint than you. Furthermore, time is limited, every second and time you invest into something will be lost forever. There are no refunds no extensions, thats why you have to make sure every second you use is worth it and you won't regret it. Moreover, time management is an important factor one can take from this picture. By managing your time you can achieve and do things more efficiently. As you may establish a balance between your career, personal life, and pursuits by effectively controlling your time. In addition, by giving some time to follow your passions and take care of your health you can have a more relaxed and focused state of mind. Also, the image shows the sand clock constantly dropping sand which means your life is limited, if you live in fear of following your goals and doing the things you like, you might never be able to do them in the end. This picture relates with me as I used to waste and not manage my time before. Nevertheless, I understood what taking control of my time meant and tried to improve myself by saving a time for every activity throughout the day. Therefore, time is the most precious and irreplaceable resource that we have and must be managed wisely.
