“You do not have, because you do not ask” (James 4:2 ESV). If there is something missing from your life, complaining, arguing, scheming and fighting may never bring it to you. Having good things that you need and desire for your life, and the lives of your family members, is as close as asking. Ask God! Seek Him for your answers! If you do not have much in life, ask for more! God stands ready to hear and to answer those who call on Him with sincere hearts. Start asking! “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened." — Matthew 7:7-8 (AMP) “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? God has great things for you! You were born to change the world. In fact, if you believe that God’s purpose for you will have any less impact than changing the entire world for the better, your vision is too small. Think bigger. Take time to visualize a world-changing purpose that will impact future generations. There are many distractions, temptations and obstacles in life. You can overcome all of these by maintaining a sharp, single-minded focus on your goals. You have a great purpose to accomplish in life. Keep your focus on that. Let your focus be unshakable. Let it be firmly set on the goals and the purpose of your life. As they say, "Keep your eyes on the prize!" Keeping your eyes on what God has promised will help you conquer discouragement, doubt and hopelessness. Jesus was able to endure the pain and the shame of death by crucifixion by staying sharply focused on what was waiting on the other side of that pain. You can endure any pain, any sacrifice, any problems, if you have a single focus on accomplishing the great purpose of your life. If we can get a glimpse of how God orchestrates the seemingly insignificant circumstances of our lives on a daily basis, we would feel a great sense of security and peace, knowing that God has everything under control. We would also be struck with a compulsion to become more alert to what God is doing in our lives from moment to moment so that we can cooperate with Him rather than complaining and working against what He is doing. Temptation comes to all of us. Even Jesus was tempted. But our problems do not begin when we are tempted. Our problems begin when we start to believe that there is something good for us outside of what God has provided. When we believe that there is good for us apart from God and what He allows, that opens the door that allows destruction into our lives. We step outside of God's protection when we do that. "The woman could see that the tree was beautiful and the fruit looked so good to eat. She also liked the idea that it would make her wise. So she took some of the fruit from the tree and ate it..."
