                                    My sister response for interview
Me: explain your typical day in detroit
typical day for me in Detroit consists of my waking up at around 8. Grabbing my laptop and doing my online school because face to face school is unavailable. After school I grab a snack and watch tv until 8. From 8-9 I sometimes do homework and I sleep at 20.
Me: Do you think detroit is a place where dreams come true?
Yes I think that Detroit is a place where dreams come true. A lot of people who aren’t from Detroit have negative things to say but they are just on the outside looking in. I feel like anything that you want you can get it, it just takes a little more elbow grease
Me:Is the inequality noticeable in detroit?
The pay rarely differs from Detroit and other urban cities but compared to the suburbs there is a huge gap.
Me: Do you think Detroit is a good place to raise a family why or why not?
Yes it’s just like any other city. Yes there are dangers but it is always dangerous no matter where you are

Part 2
                                                     11/21/202
The day started off with a loud alarm at 8:20. I set the alarm 2 hours before I had to go to work. I admitley put it on snooze so I can have another nine minutes of sleep. By this time you'd expect your family to be up. Nope the house was silent you could hear the birds chirping which I found that very odd because my family is usually loud. So I had to get ready for work silently. I only had like 40 minutes because I set the lyft to come at 9:10. I really didn't have to eat breakfast if there was even some food I could whip up in five minutes. So I was going to work hungry and I had a 6 hour shift so I would have to wait around 4 to eat. The whole time I was at work all I could think about is eating. Since I'm a cashier I had to greet customers the whole time and ring up the merchandise. The facility I work at is pretty big so the customers always surprise me with the stuff they bring up. I even asked what aisle you guys get that from. After a long day of work my big cousin came to get me. She took me to little caesars and I ordered some crazy bread. Then she dropped me and my sister off to our dads house. Which was like a 30 minute drive because he stay near dearborn michigan. We watched football games and joked around. He had cooked some fried chicken and potato wedges . The smell was perfect then we walked to the gas station. While walking to the gas station it was very dark. It was dark  because the street didn't have street lights. The sidewalk was very lumpy and uneven. I even tripeed in the pot whole before. Again there were leaves everywhere. which was a block away and I got some chips and candy. Shortly after that my cousin came back and picked us up and took us home. Then I quickly looked at my moodle account on my brother's computer and did some assignments that took like 2 hours. So around 12:30 i was finally able to relax and get on my phone. I was on there for like 15 minutes before I fell asleep again.
                                                                       11/23/2020
The day started off with my alarm going off at 8:20am. Meaning I had an hour to get ready for class. So I feel back asleep until five minutes before class. Quickly got up and went on my google meet class for math which lasts only and hour. We were going over the substitution and elimination method. After that we have homework assigned to us after class but I already did it last night by mistake. I took that extra free time to wash my clothes and do a little cleaning. Then I took a shower before the math lab started, which was at 12pm. At 11:55 I joined the google meet and got all my work done before 1:10 because me and my friend wanted to eat lunch before it closed at 1:30pm. Then I forgot my clothes were in the dryer so we had to get them before we left. We barely made it to lunch. They were having cheese burgers and fries and macaroni and a bunch of other things. I just wanted the burger and fries with a side of lemonade and that's what I got. We sat there and talked for like 45 minutes and we went back to the common room to talk even more. This is where I realized I did the wrong math assignment. Even though I didn't count towards my grade, I still did it for practice. Then my friend had class at three so left and went back in my dorm room and fell asleep. I woke up to someone calling me and then  I realised it was my mentor. I totally forgot our meeting. We were chatting about finals and my grades in school that lasted for like 30 minutes. After that I did my spanish assignment and my com 1100 assignment and for the remainder of the night I was on my phone and laptop. I was watching tik tok videos and on netflix watching Marvel Agents of Shield. Then I fell asleep.

Do you think detroit is a place where dreams come true?
I Honestly Don't Think Its a Place Where Dreams Come True... It's A Place Where You Have To Get It How You Live.. Meaning You Have To Do What You Got To Do To Make It Out Of Detroit..
Is the inequality noticeable in detroit?
The inequality Is Definitely Noticeable In Detroit Versus The Suburbs and Far As For Example The Way Detroit Look... Its Messed Up Street The City Is Dirty with Trash Everywhere But Not In The Suburbs... In The Suburbs They Care About They Neighborhoods... Jobs Are Better in the Suburbs.. More Pay And Much Kinder Work Environment... And Customers are Not So Rude...
Do you think Detroit is a good place to raise a family why or why not?
I have Mixed Feeling About This Question... Because I Don't Think Its a Good place To Raise a Family Cause Of Its Violence and Lack Of Compassion... Then Again I Do Think It's a Good Place Cause I'm raising My Family Here.. And My Kids Are Turning Out To Be Great..

Ethnography assignment
Alantis Clayton
I chose my topic to be, what issue was most pressing to me. The Income and wealth inequality and the precarious economy. I really wanted to focus on the income inequality part. In today's world how much you make vs how much you don't make makes all the difference. It's a thin line between a better life or a survival mode life. So to compare and contrast the differences I wanted to explain my typical day at Oakland university vs my typical day back in Detroit. I go home every weekend to work. I wanted to contrast how different my life is between the two places so i will document this over the next few weeks.
                                                                                  11/16/2020
The first thing I did was wake up to a loud alarm that woke me up at 8:20 I put the alarm on snooze because my class doesn't start until 9:20. due to the recent power outages my class was canceled virtually. Then he sent the notes in moodle. So I go the little 15 minutes of  sleep then got up to do the assignment. After 30 minutes of doing math assignment on graphing equations. I got bored and my mind started wondering so I decided to get all my clothes and washed them. That took me five minutes went on the elevator and went in the laundry room and washed for free. Went back to my room and continued on my assignment then I got hungry so I made me a breakfast sandwich and took a little break then continued with the assignment. Finally got done at around 10:40am. Right after that I had to do another math assignment in ALTA that gives you a better understanding of what he went over in class. My next class was at 12:00pm but by that time I still wasn't done with the assignment. The class is officially over at 1:07pm. For like 45 minutes i looked up what was due for today and started on some assignments. Then I took a shower, my friend asked me if I wanted to get some food from the OU center. So as we were walking you see nothing but beautiful buildings although it was a little cold the bright yellow sun made up for it. As you walk pass the bridge you see the glow of the sun reflecting off the water which makes everything look magical. You see the leaves blowing because today was kind of windy. The head of core program called me for our scheduled meeting I totally forgot about. As we were talking on the phone I was enjoying the beautiful sensory my favorite part is the the tower clock. We finally made it to the OU center. I've got what I always get which is panda fried rice and orange chicken. We finally got back. I've got some juice from the fridge to go with my meal. We decided to eat in the common room. After that I completed my math assignment around 4:50. We went to the beauty supply to get stuff for our hair. Of Course i spent more than what I was supposed to do. Then we got back at 6:30 then I continued to do my work. Around 9:00pm i started my Spanish assignment, then I studied for the oral exam for tomorrow. I chilled with my friends and we started to discuss this covid situation. Then started to talk about life. Then I got sleepy and went to bed.
                                                                                                    11/14/2020
When I go home for the weekends everything is totally different. I'm not as privileged as I am right now. Like I can go within walking distance and get healthy food. I can meet up with my friends and do work any time I please before the due date. Back at home since I work, I have a set schedule. I have to work around it based on my work schedule. I went for a walk around my neighborhood and I quickly noticed it. Even though the sun shines bright and yellow it didn't feel warm. It felt very cold when you walked outside my house. The first thing you notice is a big blank spot. The spot where a family was supposed to live. A place a home that was once filled with life is gone. There was a house but now it's just an open field. My whole block has more abundant houses than houses with people in it. Even walking to the store when you look down all you see is old wrinkled bottles and chip bags, beer bottles and fast food trash. Within the 10 minute walk there was more old than new. Meaning the houses on my block or the surrounding area haven't been remodeled in a while before the 2000s. Everything just looks so broken down. The grass is tall and dry and the trees have not been cut in years.
