London is full of amazing pre-wedding locations. I suggest people all over the globe choose this city to get fantastic pre-wedding pictures. The eye-catching sunrise and sunset of London add unique beauty to the romantic shots. When people ask “places for wedding photoshoots near me”, I recommend them ST. Pauls Cathedral, Paternoster Sq, Embankment Big Ben, Millennium Bridge, Shoreditch, Regents Park, Primrose Hill, Hyde Park & the Rose Garden and King’s Road. If you are also Googling “wedding photo location near me”, these spots are the ideal options.

My family photography style is just like my style for weddings – natural, fun and colourful.
Being a dad myself I know how quickly little ones grow up and so family photos are priceless. I’ve had several family shoots myself and they mean the world to me. My photos are printed out large and hung on the walls.
Tumblr media
It’s the facial facial expressions and the unique characteristics that make them them. So I’ve found the best way to take photos is to let the little ones roam free outside where they can explore and have fun. Whether it’s splashing in muddy puddles, kicking a ball or riding bikes the more fun they have the better.
Tumblr media
No fake smiles or unnatural poses, I promise.
I photograph families far and wide but living in Bristol we have plenty of great locations. The number one spot is Ashton Court. With woods, hills, horizons, deer, gardens and a colourful mansion house gardens there is PLENTY of variety.
Westonbirt arboretum is also popular, especially in autumn. Amazing pathways, logs to climb and colourful trees. So many options and I love going back.
But, it doesn’t have to be a forest, mountain or beach. Your own homes can make great backdrops. Wherever your family feels relaxed will work well and be more personal too. Wherever your happy place is we can go there. My family photography is less about the background and more about natural reactions.
The photos grow more special as the years go on and also make good gifts to other family members.

Here are a few of my favourite snaps from Natasha and Richard’s wedding in St Giles House, Wimborne, Dorset. A flipping ace venue with so much character and charm. I’ve been before to a winter wedding at St Giles House so I was familiar with the lay of the land. But it was especially nice to visit in the springtime. The grounds were at their greenest and looked resplendent!
Natasha and Richard’s wedding was memorable because they drove a massive motorbike from Alaska (more on that later!)
Natasha and Richard’s wedding was a day full of laughter, fun and drinks outside in the sunshine. It was a gorgeous day and I took a mental snapshot to remind myself how amazing my job is.
Their wedding breakfast was served in the gardens of St Giles House thanks to events superstars Alastair Currie Events.
The ceremony felt very intimate and took place in the church a stones throw away. Natasha looked stunning in her white dress (and blue Jimmy Choo shoes which are frankly a thing of wonder.) Richard looked amazing in his tartan trousers.
Finally one of the highlights was the Honda Goldwing wedding motorcycle that they drove away in from the church. But this was a bit of a photographic challenge as they drove away at speed! Despite the speed I was so pleased I caught the whole thing and their arrival back at the wedding reception back at the house.

I was thrilled to get a booking from Alex and Kim. I’d met them whilst photographing Alex’s sister’s amazing wedding in Italy. I remembered them from the day and they obviously liked my San Galgano wedding photos (cheeky plug (but another incredible wedding!)) I love a destination wedding, whilst it’s a little more work and worry you can’t beat getting married outside in the sunshine. Everyone has a holiday vibe and the evening parties are often pretty wild. The Mas Torroella wedding venue is beautiful villa and only a two hour drive from Barcelona airport.

I’ve taken delivery of some new USB sticks ready for 2020 and beyond! Call me old fashioned but all my couples receive a custom USB drive as standard. I enjoy delivering a tangible item and as not everyone buys a physical wedding album I sent out prints and a memory stick to everyone as a little thank you. Unbelievably when I first started out I used to send the images on a DVD! Boy  am I glad that’s changed!
Now, most of my couples collect their photos via digital delivery. It’s really convenient, you can access them anytime, anywhere as long as you have your phone, tablet or a computer. It’s really simple PLUS you don’t have to wait for the postman! There are free downloads for everyone and it’s a great way of sharing them.

Best Pre wedding locations London - Albert Palmer
As I do quite a few pre wedding shoots in London I often get asked about the perfect locations.
Well, to start with I’m going to talk a little about the timing. Last time I googled London has a population of just over 8 MILLION people. That’s a lot. Not to mention the tourists which flood the streets in the summer and autumn… So timing plays a part on pre wedding shoots. With sunrise and sunset being the best times — or the quietest times with the best light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tend to schedule London pre wedding shoots for week days, because as you might imagine the weekends are chaotic.
With that in mind here are my top 10 locations for London pre wedding shoots.
St Paul’s Cathedral
Paternoster Sq
Embankment+Big Ben
Millennium Bridge
Shoreditch
Regent’s Park
Primrose Hill
Hyde Park & The Rose Gardens
King’s Road
The Mall & St James Park & Buckingham Palace

If you’re worried about how much money your wedding will cost, then a destination wedding may be right for you. When compared to traditional weddings, most couples spend less than half as much on their destination weddings — but still get all of the same perks! In addition, you can save even more money by choosing local vendors who don’t charge as much as those in your hometown do.

I couldn’t wait to return to Came House for Averil and Dom’s spring wedding. It was a gorgeous day, with sunshine, perfect weather and great friends. So many details went into this wedding that I’ll probably never get tired of looking back on. Hats off to Averil and Dom for making it such a fun wedding to photograph. From the Florist’s hand-picked flowers to the gorgeous centerpieces and table decorations. Averil and Dom were one happy bride and groom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Came House is a work of art, located in Dorset. They have a beautiful garden where their guests could gather for the ceremony and for the reception. It has been on my list of favourite wedding venue’s since I first visited it in 2019.
Since I last went they’ve erected a large marquee in the grounds for the wedding breakfast and dancing. It was also the first time I’d photographed a wedding ceremony in the Orangery. Arcade flowers had decorated the wedding aisle with a vivid pink to match Averil’s wedding bouquet. The striking colours really look amazing in the photos.
From our zoom chat I knew they’d be a fun crowd and the dance floor was bouncing when Saxophonist Joe Glynn Sax came on stage.

One of the good things to come from a quiet time of year is that I finally have time to catch up on my blogging! Today we’re heading back to Jacky & David’s wedding. They got married at St Mary’s Church before heading on to Southend Barns wedding venue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They lucked out with a beautiful day in August which ended with the prettiest of sunsets. It was my first time at Southend Barns although Jacky and Dave found me through a recommendation from this wedding at Upwaltham Barns.
Not only did they have a fab Cadillac wedding car their little dog attended the wedding ceremony. Looking at these wedding photos now quickly brings back all the memories of the day. The guys smoking cigars, playing law games, eating amazing food (and cake!)
Tumblr media
Whilst ‘at work’ I’m always trying to find unique wedding photos and I struck gold! One of my favourite images is of the couple asleep together on an outdoor sofa. It had been a long day and after the wedding breakfast these two crashed out in each others arms until the evening. One thing I love about wedding photography is finding these unscripted moments. Completely non traditional but hilarious to look back on and it’s these little moments that make every wedding unique. Being in the right place at the right time is a skill I’ve bene trying to master for years!

Towards the end of last year, when the days got shorter and colder I headed to Shoreditch to meet Shahr and Peter. We headed out in to the crowded streets. Wondered around food stores and antique markets. Saw some pretty epic graffiti to rival that in Bristol. We headed back to their flat and had some coffee. Peter and Shahr changed outfits and we headed out to Hampstead Heath. Their pooch had lots of fun in the wet grass and we walked to the top of the hill, just in time to see the sun set. It was a pretty cool day.

Caroline and Duncan’s wedding in Kings College Chapel Cambridge was incredible. I have so many great memories from such an amazing day. Kings College Chapel is visually spectacular!
I travelled up a few weeks ago to photograph Caroline and Duncan’s wedding on a hot July day. After photos with the guys in the morning I headed to meet Caroline at The Hilton. If you’re wondering she wore a Justin Alexander gown and Jimmy Choo shoes. Halfway through the beautifying process with Jimmy Bilton at Toni & Guy, flowers arrived from Mulberry Flowers. Kings College was in walking distance from the Hotel so I hot footed it through the busy streets and entered the quietness of the ceremony venue. It’s hard not to be incredibly impressed by the scale of Kings College. It’s on another level and made an incredible venue for the intimate ceremony.

I’ve been to Surrey quite a few times in the last month. You’ve seen the Northbrook Park wedding – now check out Louisa and Jeremy’s big day. I shot Tom and Jennifer’s wedding. They were there. I also shot Amy and Carlo’s wedding. They were there too. As Jeremy and Louisa live down-under I wasn’t too sure what to expect but I knew (based on their friends weddings) that it would really be a lot of fun. I’m not going to talk too much about their day.

Gemma and Ricky recommended me to Amy & Phil after their wedding at Casa Cornacchi. I had a blinding drive up to North Yorkshire with amazing views. I love visiting new wedding venues and exploring new areas. Yorebridge House wedding photography was made all the more easier by incredible views and epic weather. It’s such a beautiful part of the world and I had blast!
They got married at Askrigg Church. The children of the village stuck to tradition and tied the church gates closed. The traditions that the bride and groom have to pay the children sweets to untie the gates. I don’t see this at enough weddings although I guess you need a village of children who are free on a Saturday to make it work!

A little while ago I headed to Richmond Park with Ali and Andrew for a London couple photoshoot. Other than their own charming selves they bought balloons as an accessory! On our walk we got lost, took photos, avoided deer and dodged a few rain clouds. The adventurous life I lead… Richmond park is always a beautiful place to be, and whilst it was pretty cloudy I love the feel of these photos.
Out of all of the London Parks I think I prefer Richmond. I do mention it in my favourite pre wedding spots of London and it’s one of the few parks that ‘can’t’ get crowded. Whilst there are always lots of people around you can always find a few quiet spots to take some cute photos. Also, there are wild deer. So, that pretty much trumps all the other parks! You also have the building of Pembroke Lodge and so, as well as the wildness of the area you have some interesting gardens to wander around.
