Miles did a cameo where someone asked him if he had any behind the scenes about the bees and he talked about Blake and Sun and how they were only meant to be like a teenage crush, where the writers wanted to write a teenage experience of having crushes and liking people, but not always having those crushes lead to anywhere down the line like with Blake and Sun because of where they were at in their lives and how Blake and Sun were going in opposite directions

And then he goes on to talk about how they planned to take a slowburn approach with Blake and Yang's relationship, where Blake and Yang start out as friends in the beginning and then slowly realize they have feelings for each other and then get together

Miles also said he wishes he toned down a bit on blacksun because he didn't realize so many people would be mad

bee shippers are really something else...

out here calling their pairing a 'slow burn' in defense on why it took 10 years till it became canon. despite from v1 to v5 there was literally absolutely no romantic implication between blake and yang. heck, during those 5 volumes Blake literally had a guy love interest that the show vv much pushed to show the both as romantically into each other.

the bees held hands once at the end of v6, didnt even resolve their conflict fight from prior and suddenly acts like girlfriends??? and lbr it became canon and for what? the bastardization of their characters??

its literally just pandering to the largest voices cause they will buy the merch and bring the views.

anyways thank fuck that the locked tomb pairing won that poll. cause bumble/by does not even fucking deserve to be put on the same pedestal as the other sapphic pairings.
