Sushigod is a god-like figure in the world of CFMOT. While we don't know all too much about them, we do know at least a few things. Sushigod has multiple temples built of them (CFMOT 5: Rubbery says "It's another temple dedicated to the Sushigod," implying that there's more than one).
Sushigod may also not just be a concept, but an actual person according to Dreamcatcher's account. They state that a "delicious looking person" had walked up to them one day.
Pictures match.
I honestly can't exactly tell what kind of sushi Sushigod is, they look like someone put a piece of nigiri (maguro? sake?) onto the front of a temaki with it's sharper end cut off? Otherwise regular sushi rolls aren't as long as what's there.
The next part of Sushigod is the religion itself. It's name hasn't been mentioned (to my knowledge). There are a few starting points to how it works:
Dreamcatchers are very symbolic in the religion.
Kurasan does not believe in it.
Rubbery and Putty may support or follow it (unknown which yet).
Lightbolb is hinted at following the religion, as well as Knify.
I myself assume a few things:
The religion is quite strict with it's rules, and not following results in punishment.
Eating only sushi could be a part of the rules (even though she prepared spaghetti in the first episode, she never ate it. she asked for sushi in episode 5, and made sushi rolls in episode 3.)
Sushigod is not observed as a particularly nice entity, having kidnapped Dreamcatcher and hanging them in their cave.
You can see Lightbolb's changes appear first in the fourth episode, where her expressions become more erratic, and she begins floating to move around. This was started after the episode where sawdust was served for lunch, so I assume Lightbolb started receiving punishment for that slowly after she was recovered.
Her behavior continues after episode five, she begins gaining a red tint and her entire personality becomes more erratic than before, with more exaggerated faces and movement. Episode six even starts off by showing Blooming May sleeping, and showing that Lightbolb sleeps with a great deal of movement.
Episode seven was the complete haul, something is growing inside her and controlling her, physically hurting her as well. There's probably a lot of theories going around about what's in her, but my personal assumption is that it may be a creature or virus of some sort, one planted in by Sushigod themself maybe?
Another thing about CFMOT as a whole is it's relation with Japanese. There's a whole bunch of Japanese-related references, characters, and moments. Take Nansensu for example, her name translates to nonsense in Japanese! "When Will CFMOT 7 Come Out?" was presented in a Japanese anime's style, Kratcy and Yoshka even spoke Japanese!
Again, since I don't speak Russian, there's probably a lot of information I'm missing, so if I've left anything out, please let me know!
[A Russian translation ID would be greatly appreciated ^^']
thank you for 200 followers! here's a strangely drawn ruby
here's some insight into my drawing process because why not?
as you all might have guessed, i like to play around with art style. sometimes i have an idea of what the drawing should look like, sometimes i don't, which is the case here however. i drew this ruby without planning, adding strokes randomly and remembering some rendering rules as i went. i am still a noob at rendering though, so this drawing doesn't look good objectively in my eyes. i added highlights to make it shiny, but it looks more like jelly now to be honest. as a result, this is, in my opinion, a more expressive drawing, since i drew with freedom and didn't care about consistency. the brush strokes are confident and floaty, and the drawing, as a result, looks happy and carefree in general. drawing while listening to cool relaxing music also helped. look at this Ruby go!
