I love the use of colors in this show so much. From the cold blue tones to being washed in the pink of the bracelet... and then the soft piano theme coming in? It's so good, it's so sweet

yep yep, they're both starting to crumble here. It's one thing to be a little nonchalant about being stuck in a magic bubble with someone you just met- Connie keeps a cool head, Steven's nice, and it's a little awkward but they're both doing their best. The bottom of the ocean though. That's a distressing place to be.

I wonder if they caught Lars and Sadie before they opened up the store since neither of them are in uniform. It can't be closing because the big donut closes in the evening, so I can just imagine Sadie about to open the front and bickering with lars when they are approached by The Sphere

Rose went so hard with her aesthetic. It does make for an interesting comparison later on when Steven's powers take on a more geometric, sharp look as he becomes more used to being a pink diamond over the soft roundness of rose quartz

it's nice that Pearl is putting so much thought into helping Steven make a friend. I wonder if part of it is guilt that the gems can't spend too much time with him while doing more dangerous missions and him being so obviously lonely since he doesn't have too many peers that he can just hang out with. Or maybe that's a little bit of a stretch

then we have our master of relationships, Garnet, who wastes no time in telling Steven that he should just talk to her. I think it's nice that even if she's not too vocal these early episodes, she still tries her best to give steven bits of helpful advice

aww buddy, don't run away! If anything she just looks really concerned. I think if she had a little more self confidence she might have had the courage to ask if he was alright
