December Activity 2
During the Christmas preparations, I had to run a lot of errands, to help my parents while they were working. As I was completing them, I decided to do a long walk while going back home, just to clear up my mind and relax. This definitely helped, as I was very stressed and tense from running all the errands and trying to be on time with a very tight schedule. The fact that I had to plan the journeys without a car only made things worse, as it took me longer to travel.

December Activity 1
I went to my weekly pilates classes. i enjoy them as my teacher is really nice and provides me with support and motivates me. I liked these lessons especially as I noticed the progress in my strength. I was able to do more difficult exercises that I could not complete before. Such progress only motivates me more to get going and get stronger.

December Service 2
As my best friend and I try to support each other when it comes to schoolwork, we sometimes give each other tutoring. This time my friend asked me to teach her the hyperbolic functions as she had a test coming up. I was happy to help her as it was easy for me and provided me with much-needed revision of the topic. It took us around an hour for her to master the functions. Although I do not consider myself a good teacher, she seemed to enjoy our little tutoring and succeeded. Overall, I am definitely not made for tutoring others, as it was pretty easy for me to get frustrated when she did not understand what I was saying, but I will work on it.

December Service 1
As the Christmas season was coming, my parents needed help in their shop. Many people made food orders, and my parents had to prepare all of them to prevent chaos. That is why, they asked me to voluntarily help them. My job was to prepare and number all of the bags with ordered food, and if needed deliver than to the shop nearby. It was a very precise and tiring job, as there was np place for mistakes. We had to check every order twice and ensure that every client received what they ordered. Despite that, I was supposed to deliver them to my parents' shop, which required strength and forced me to get some exercise.

December Creativity 2
Again, I participated in my Latin lessons. Earlier we were introduced to a new topic, and we decided to practice more, along with that, we decided that we wanted to translate a short text while identifying all the grammatical structures present. This enabled us to see how many different grammatical structures are present in such text, and it enabled us to revise what we learned before.

December Creativity 1
For my creativity this month I continued my Latin lessons along with Matylda. We were introduced to the new topic- Deklinacja 2. It was not so challenging, however, new rules made it more confusing. When we tried doing exercises just from this structure, they were relatively easy, but when previous grammar came along it definitely required more focus and skill. Overall, I was happy to see that I have progressed as I was able to recall past grammatical rules and do the exercises properly.

During these lessons, we were taught how to write a good informative poster and invitation. This skill is really important, which may seem weird, however, sometimes an invitation is needed. Therefore, our exercise was about writing an invitation for a film premiere and designing a poster.
What was challenging, was that the invitation had to be not only correct in the grammatical way but also had to be formed specially. This was hard, however, but really useful in the future.

Today's topic: Status
Continuing the topic of improvisation, we began to work on giving up the lead for our partner. Both of the actors need to communicate and both work on the plot and good performance. To do that, we learned how to make someone the lead and so on.
The exercise was to play and try to show how someone takes the lead. This made us realize how important it is to observe the partner and communicate.

As we continued to explore the topic of improvisation, the teacher provided us with another really important aspect of a successful act- being on yes while acting with your partner. What this means is that while improvising, we need to think of a plot. As we can not communicate with the other person, we have to somehow show them and suggest it. This is where being on yes comes in: the other person has to accept the offer and go with it for the improvisation to be smooth and interesting.
As a practice, we were again paired with random people, and we tried to be yes throughout the act taking initiative from our partners. After the performance, the teacher reflected on our act and pointed out the moments where the communication suffered and someone did not trust the other. After this, we were able to reflect and really see how important this aspect is when it comes to improvisation.

Today's topic was partnership in improvisation. While being in a role with a partner both actors must work together as a team. This way both have a pleasant time.
For our practice, the teacher paired us with random people from our class, for us to try harder to communicate with someone we do not really know. Then, we started improvising while trying to give each other opportunities to go on with the act. It is important to give each other a hand with what they try to achieve, as well as try and agree on a plot that is creating itself.
Summarising, The partnership on stage is the most important aspect of working together on stage, no matter the task. It provides us with confidence as we know that we can trust the other person as well as seek sudden help if needed.

During these classes, the ability to empathize and feel the characters we play is essential. That is why today we explored it. It is what breathes life into the play and creates a connection between the viewer and the story. Our assignment was observing people in different situations and then trying to become one with them. This observation of human nature serves as a source of inspiration, allowing the actors to imbue their characters with authenticity.
We developed the skill of nonverbal communication and analyzing human behavior.

Tuesday, 12th December 2023
This day we discussed our plans for the director's concept and we had an opportunity to ask our teacher some questions before the summative.
My concept that I finished during that lesson:
In the harsh world of the workplace, Lady Macbeth has a significant issue. Duncan, the boss, treats her poorly simply because she is a woman. Lady Macbeth becomes enraged and seeks revenge. She persuades Macbeth, her husband, that killing Duncan and seizing control of the business is the only way they can make things right. Macbeth is misled by Lady Macbeth into believing that this is a wise decision for their future. Yet her true motivation is retaliation for Duncan's mistreatment of her. Lady Macbeth emerges in the group while concealing her true motivation as they travel down this sinister route of deceit and murder. But the more control Lady Macbeth gains, the more guilt and issues they encounter become. As their secret begins to surface, there are betrayals and a great deal of tension. A dramatic moment in which Lady Macbeth must confront the fallout from her plot of retaliation and determine whether losing her own virtue was worth it.

This lesson we discussed the summative about creating our own Productions Proposals. We started with finding a drama that was interesting for us. Then, we begun to investigate the directors concept- changing the interpretation, applying the plot in other setting or situation. It was not an easy task as we were forbidden to change the pot of the original story, however change the intentions to show other perspective ot the story.
Mrs. Paulina introduced us to TEAM as well as other part of a succesfull Production Proposal of directors concept:

I chose "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare.

14th, 21st and 28th of November 2023
These lessons were dedicated to discussing William Shakespeare’s „Hamlet” as well as the most important aspects of the genere (drama).
Summary of the plot:
Hamlet is instructed by his father's ghost to assassinate the new king, who happens to be Hamlet's uncle, to exact revenge for the murder of his father. Hamlet acts to have gone insane, contemplates life and death, and plots his retribution. His uncle likewise makes plans to kill Hamlet due to fear over his own life. The play climaxes in a duel in which Hamlet, his opponent, the King, and the Queen are all murdered.
The book describes Shakespeare’s approach to the story, showing what the author's purpose was in order to create such plot. Understanding a writer's style in literature is a deep investigation that reveals levels of context and significance. These courses go beyond the book and have practical applications in the real world, providing new insights and viewpoints on societal concerns.
On the 14th and 21st of November we've watched two plays which illustrated „Hamlet” by William Shakespeare. On the 28th of November we gathered our knowledge from the previous lessons and we compared the interpretations.
Peter Brook’s „Hamlet”, made in a poor theatre, was a much more universal interpretation. This was achieved by picturing the main character as a man with no certain nationality, but simply a man, Hamlet. Because the play was produced in a subpar theatre, there is a lot of material symbolism (a stick was used as a sword, for instance). Even though we came to the conclusion that both Hamlets were motivated by passion, Brook's was more philosophical.
Second film- an interpretation by Jan Klata, who depicted the protagonist as a Polish man during the 1990’s. after the fall of USSR. The play took place in the Gdansk Shipyard, reminding the viewers of the many protests that took place there which lead to the end of communism in Poland. Hamlet was a Polish male from generation X. Contrary to Peter Brook’s interpretation, to actually understand Klata’s play we had to know background information- the history of Poland. In this interpretation, many methaphorical symbolisms were visible, which alluded to the original plot (example is: Hamlet spilled wine on his mother and uncle, marking them as guilty people)

The day of the first summative. The assignment was to prepare a short game where we would use the ATL skills we mastered during the lessons.
My game:
Everyone would sit in a circle, and they would count to 15- 1st person said 1, 2nd 2, etc.
When the 15th person would say 15, they have to think of a rule, thet the group has to fulfil when the given number is being said.
Eg. "For no. 5 the person has to do a Jumping Jack" Then, the person who is supposed to say the number, instead does the rule that was established.
The game can go on till all of the numbers are covered with rules. The game stops when a person did not fulfil the action or made a mistake. In that case the queue starts again.

"Don Kichot'' (en. Don Quixote) play review-
Recently, our grade was introduced to the play "Don Kichot'' in the Potem-o-tem theatre on Nowolipki 2 Street.
The performance was played in a rather small space, meaning it had to be used completely. In addition, the minimalism creates a good contrast on how well the artists were prepared. Simple objects such as helmets as well were frequently used as a bowl.
The plot is about a man- named Don Kichot, who believes is a knight and wants to win the heart of his love- Cudeni (en. Dulcynea). With the company of his dear friend and servant, he travels across the country and fulfills his dream of fighting monsters and helping others. While being in his imagined world, where new creatures, obstacles, and magic occurs, his friend- Sanczo Brzuchacz (en. Sancho Potbellied) tries to help him realize the true world.
Metaphorically, this play shows how commitment and sacrifice for something can make people do various things. The main character, in dedication to Dulcynea, was ready to get himself killed. His love is a symbol of an asset for people. Something that is someone's passion and reason to live.
I believe that this act is worth seeing, as you can easily observe how the actors empathize with the characters, as well as it is valuable content and entertainment.
