welcome on in to mimi & alhaitham's bakery, in the heart of new sumeru! a sweet little shop of two floors, with pink sunshades and the brightest pink-and-white flowers all over the entrance. hey. . . is that the honeyed scent of freshly baked pastries?

THE BAKERY . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁.

M : we started this bakery together . . . maybe a year and a half ago? i was done with my degree, and he was finishing his second. we started the bakery as a way to earn some money and also have a place to call ours. it's not a house, but it's certainly a home, and i think that's what matters, right?

A : we're not homeless, just to clarify. we stay on the second floor of this bakery. but yes, we did start this place together . . . ( he takes a look around. ) and i'm rather glad we did.

M : aww, look at you! all blushy.

A : don't you have croissants in the oven?

M : ah! my croissants!

THE BAKERY'S REGULARS . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁.

A : our regulars? we have quite a few. there's kaveh, a friend of mine, and his partner alexis. they're both studying still, so the bakery is a place for them to come and study. alexis and mimi have been friends for a long time too.

M : that's right! haitham's pretty good at making sure she doesn't get distracted, heh. the stray kitties also are our regulars!

( alhaitham makes a noise. )

M : heh . . . he's not the biggest fan of them.

A : aside from the kitties, there's caz and suna, they always get a hojicha latte here and it's always good to see them. kal and brant come by pretty often too – the two have a special spot by the window where the evening light streams in. it's quite nice.

M : caz and kalkal and brant!! mirei and kazuha come by too, mirei always tries to sneak some bites off my fresh tray! that girl... carrot and jing yuan can be found here on the weekends. they always bring extra cat food for the kitties, so we're very grateful . . .

A : those kittens. they should start paying rent, with how long they've been here. perhaps they'd bring in more customers? ( he takes out a notebook. )

M : ( she whacks his shoulder lightly. ) those kittens are not a tax write-off!

this bakery is mainly created as part of @alekvs ' shoujo au, and can also be a standalone place of interest . . . won't you come in for a bit? ♡

volume 1 : Kaveh! How You Bewitch Me! 2k words of alekav written and directed by alexis!

The sun was shining today, and the world seemed bright. ⋆˙⟡ It was 11am on a Sunday morning and the world seemed almost perfect. The greens of the trees and pinks of the cherry blossoms around her townhouse shone with the sun behind it. Alexis had started the day outside on her porch with a bowl of fruit to eat for breakfast.

Yesterday was a good day! Scrolling through her messages with Mirei, her perfect wingwoman, memories rush back in a way that makes her want to scream. A good day it was for her, yesterday Alexis finally talked to her senior again! Maybe it was the spring weather that made her more bold ( although she’s not exactly shy either ) but she had been pining over him since she first started at the college.

His laughter, smile, beauty… All of it absolutely enraptured her and every interaction leaves her wanting more, it's too bad they’re in different years!! Kaveh was such a brilliant guy, and she could only wish to meet his standards…! ( one day… one day … (╥﹏╥ )

They met at Mimi's Bakery yesterday! ♡ Alhaitham is Kaveh’s roommate and her classmate in her English Literature, and Alexis knows well by now that wherever Mimi goes, Alhaitham follows, a cute couple they are! ( if they’d confess at least! Alhaitham it's not like you to beat around the bush! ). But what a surprise to see Kaveh there, and he talked to her! Although Mimi poked fun at her... ( like a mom does... ) the interaction made her entire day! ( and this morning too! ♡ )

Alexis keeps replaying their interaction on loop in her head, it was all she could think about before bed ( oh she’s downbad… what a loser ). The way he smiled, his eyes, everything about him oh it has her swooning. ✧˖° It doesn’t help that they pass by each other each day!! Since he’s her neighbour, and they go to the same college she sees him walking home and to the school. It’s almost impossible to not stare! ( ˶´ ᵕ `˶)

Alexis likes him, she likes him a lot.

The sun's warm rays lift her head from her phone, and she eats the last strawberry in the bowl. Alexis just so happens to hear a ruffling in her bushes. She’s no stranger to stray animals so instead she just carried on with her own. Her own cat, Bella, is not the same and took it upon herself to jump down from the window and go check it out.

Much to her own surprise when she looks back up from her phone, coming out of the roses near the fence that connects her with Kaveh’s home was a small cream colored cat. The cat is white-gloved and covered in a soft cream, her eyes were beautifully big and round, quite a beautiful cat. The kitten approaches before nudging her head against the side of her ankle.

“How’d you get here, pretty kitty?” a question asked up to the air. A soft meow answers the girl back as she crouches down to pet the cat on the top of her head.

She laughs, standing up. The kitten and her own cat, Bella, both jump up to the window seal, and watch her wash her bowl. The water runs from the tap softly, nice and warm. Soon, the bowl is clean, and under the tap is a watering can. She leaves the porch, back into the garden, and while Bella stays in her spot and the seal, soaking in the sun, the stray jumps down. It's around the time of day where she should water the garden.

“You can follow if you want too.”

Alexis planted the garden at the beginning of the season, the flower seeds bought from vi's floral shop and fruit seeds from her garden last year, since she replanted she has been taking care of it as the weather grows warm. She starts watering the strawberries, then the raspberries. Finally she ends with the beautiful arrange of flowers. With every water droplet fallen over the white rose bed, to which the orange fur ball tries to catch it with her tongue. Alexis simply laughs in response at her new followers' habits. ✿𝆬

The girl continues to make her way around the garden. Passing by the small accessories in her garden, and just as Alexis makes it to the bed of the crown imperials, she hears her doorbell ring.

Through the back window, the smell of the fresh baking from Mimi's bakery roams from the kitchen into the halls and the two cats follow behind her. She puts down her gardening gloves onto the marble counters as she runs down to greet the guest at the door.

Alexis’ red bow bounces with her hair, her dress, a white base with a red floral pattern, jumping up and down with her and her smile only grows when she opens the door, excited to greet whoever it is. ✧˖°

“Hello, is there something you–?” before she can finish, it's unfortunate that the breath is knocked out of her lungs.ᐟ

Familiar blonde hair, and stunning red eyes greet her at the door, a nervous expression on his face that leaves her absolutely awestruck. Kaveh.ᐣ.ᐟ Her pretty senior and neighbor is at her doorstep?! (˶𖦹﹏𖦹˶)

In the span of seconds Alexis’ brain runs at miles per hour and she already feels her face heating up. He looks pretty as always, his long blonde hair fallen on his shoulders, red hair clips pulling it up ever so slightly. His shining red eyes staring almost right at her heart so it feels! His tanned skin is forever beautiful, contrasting with the bright gold of his jewelry accessories.

Oh she must stop looking so purposefully or she won’t be able to make it through the interaction! “Oh, senior .ᐟ” she squeaks ( how embarrassing! ) Uh, you.. Do you need something..?”

“Hi Alexis…” he flusters, eyes averting to look anywhere but at her ( so cute! 𐙚´ ˘ `), “I was just wondering if my cat, Mehrak, happened to come here..?”

“Oh!” her smile softens, looking behind her at the soft cream cat who stares right back up at her, “sorry, this beauty must be yours then..!” Alexis picks up the cat, Mehrak, and hands it out to the blonde boy. Mehrak meows protestingly, which leads to Alexis chuckling kindly.

Kaveh doesn’t reach for the cat right away leading to Alexis awkwardly holding Mehrak up, and when Mehrak reaches over to the guy and wanks him on the wrist ( silly kitty ), finally he reaches for her and takes her from Alexis' hands. And oh Alexis just absolutely dies when their fingers touch, warmth immediately runs up her neck all the way to her ears…! Embarrassment and yearning absolutely overflowing through her when she puts her arms by her side.

“Thank you so much”, he mutters, and she feels her soul ache, holy shit he’s so cute please don’t hate me. “I hope she wasn’t a problem…”

His beautiful red eyes avert down to pet Mehrak, and she feels her soul fly. It almost feels like forever staring, she almost completely misses his answer, how embarrassing that would be… Oh she needs to pull herself together, don’t embarrass yourself in front of your gorgeous senior Alexis!! °(⋟o⋞)°·

“Oh not at all! I enjoyed her company a lot actually! She’s a very sweet cat!” Mehrak meows in what seems to be agreement, and Alexis makes the bold move to reach over and pet her, purposefully ignoring the proximity to avoid shriveling up and dying.

“Yeah, sweet.” He mumbles, staring at her instead of Mehrak. ( It is making me insecure!! Help!! Do I look stupid?! )

It takes all her might to not look into Kaveh's beautiful, alluring, entrancing red eyes. She knows she’ll get hypnotized and she knows that’ll lead to her embarrassing herself. She's not as cool or as smooth as her senior is… help!! “S… so senior..”

“Kaveh.” he stops abruptly, and it seems to take them both by surprise, while Alexis’ reaction is more confused, Kavehs reaction is extremely flustered, he begins to stutter over what seems to be nothing and turns his head away. ( oh he’s so cute!! What he does to me… ) “Just… call me Kaveh…” he stutters, “no need for formalities…!”

“Oh, haha sorry, right. Sorry Kaveh..!” First name basis!?!? Is this a win?!

“No need to apologize so much either…” he laughs softly, which has her heart aflutter, “you don’t have anything to apologize for…”

“Right s–” sorry goes unsaid. “so…also Kaveh.” ( I love the sound of his name on my lips.. ♡ )

His eyes lean back to her and Alexis feels a shiver, suddenly feeling anxious about her next words, ( fuck!! is she shaking?! (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞ ) “would you like to, to exchange numbre-, oh my god exchange phone numbers, with me? Fuck i’m sorry i’m stuttering so bad haha–”

“Don’t apologize… it's cute..” he cuts off with a mumble, CUTE.ᐣ.ᐟ Her hands fidget, she opens her mouth, “so…–”

“Yes we can call!” he exclaims before backtracking spluttering words that sound like nothing at all, a dark blush rapidly spreading across his tan skin ( how beautiful! ) , “I mean- I, yes, my number, I can give you my number— that’s cool.”

A large smile arises on her face and Alexis feels her heart pick up by 2X. God the sun is hot out today right?! “Great, awesome, amazing..! Wait here.” She quickly fumbles to grab a small slip of paper and pen, and shakily writes down the numbers to her contact, at the end a 𖹭.ᐟ and (˶◜ᵕ◝˶)

( am i cringe?! (╥﹏╥ ) )

Kaveh takes the slip of paper excitedly, a matching smile on his own face as he holds on, staring down at it. A cool dark red taking over his face as his smile grows ( ugh, he’s too cute! How unfair! ) Suddenly Alexis finds herself feeling really insecure. (๑﹏๑//) Is her hand writing okay?! Oh god she hopes he doesn’t think it's ugly and he’s actually making fun of it, she’s seen his handwriting as marks on his blueprints before it's so pretty, how can she compare?!?!

“Thanks…” a small smile, “I’ll be sure to send a message!”

Alexis smiles back at him, her head rolling around in celebration as she tries to play it off, and before anymore conversation can happen Mehrak paws Kaveh’s chest, when he looks down she whips him right in the face with her paw meowing. “I guess this is my sign to get home, she's getting impatient, probably wants to eat.”

“Haha I guess! It’s always nice seeing you Kaveh… I like talking with you!” we should talk more.

“You too, Alexis, ( oh she’s swooning ) I’m glad we got to talk… sorry again about Mehrak I hope she doesn't run off agai–” a swat “okay okay I'm going i’m going haha.” a cute smile, and an even more sweetening laugh behind it, he's trying to kill her, its decided.

Alexis waves at him as he leaves, watching as he waves back and brings Mehrak to the home next door. He waves back, giving her a sweetening smile, his tan skin ever so slightly hiding a red hue of flush on his face. She gazes from behind while watching the two engage in a banter, or as much as you can banter with a cat, his blonde hair turned back just enough she can see the red hair clips poking from the back.

As Kaveh fades out the world around fades back in, the bustling street behind with bikes travelling back and forth, the wind ever so slightly going through the trees and the sun peeking out behind the clouds. The colors return, but all she can see is the red in the leaves and the red that reflects her world. ♡

Todays a perfect day, and an even more perfect success.

She shuts the door just barely quick enough to contain her squeals, falling to the floor she shakes putting her head in her hands. Success!!! WE WIN THESE!!! She hops up and down excitedly, hands cover over her face, a smile so large her cheeks hurt. Her hair is a mess, but no one is watching.

Immediately, she runs back to the porch, waking up her own cat ( sorry Bella..! ) and grabbing her phone. The charm sways vibrantly and the phone screen glares awake. She fumbles to press in the pin, and struggles even more to click on the messaging service.

Alexis flops her head down on the table, hiding her blushing face. Heat sears through her body as she flushes red. Oh my god, she IS making progress isn’t she? How awesome ( and scary ) is this?! A romantic spring... She hopes that's what is ahead of her... The idea that her beautiful senior just might be interested in her…? Has her absolutely over the moon! ♡ oh my god she’ll be up all night waiting for this text won’t she?
