hiiii hollowknight fandom!! Hornet is my favorite character :3

Time Spent: ~2.8 hours

Ive started playing Hollow Knight recently, woohoo!! In terms of progression, I've just gotten the dream nail. It's super fun to play, though bosses are kinda scary (and sometimes frustrating ! the lack of benches in that purple gemstone area... ough..). Overall awesome :3

I LOVED everything with Hornet !! Her running and looming, plus the little quips of voice! Yayayayy!!!! The boss fight was very fun and It was cool to see her using tricks from the bugs of greenpath. Does she hang out there often?

In terms of art, this functioned mainly as a practice in composition and rendering!!! I'm currently taking a drawing class, but it's very beginner so it's mostly a reminder of the basics (though that's always welcome!). My main focus right now is to learn about light and shadow, and how color plays into that.

If you zoom into the heads of hornet and ghost, you'll see lots of colors around!!

Not only darker and lighter colors, but different hues too! The white would reflect LOTS of the area around em, which is QUITE grue. >:3c

Hornet's needle(?) should be longer if it were game-accurate, but I chesed it a little to get the right feel.

Also, she's underlit to be intimidating! teeheeee

OH! And here's the sketch!!

I think the final piece looks better, which is an absolute WIN for me!!!

There's also a normal and sane amount of layers, yippee!!! I used a method that started with broad strokes, then alternated between color correction and paintover for tweaks.
