A fakemon I recently made based off of the national flower of Finland.
In finnish Kielo
In english Lily of the valley
I haven’t decided on a name for it yet but it’s either Grass/Poison type or Grass/Ghost type. These Pokemon also live in colonies in the wild for protection and to mark their terretory, they don’t usually appreciate unsuspected visitors... Though some may find them cute they are also predators. They like to eat Oddishes in the wild sometimes because they look like big berries.
Though dangerous in the wild these Pokemon are also very popular in their national region due to the beautiful flower they grow on their heads. The flowers gives off a beautiful smell that is usually used in perfumes for example. The flowers are also used as a sign of love and as medicine for the poison effect your Pokemon can get.
These Pokemon sometimes also travel afar from their home to look for a new one. Sometimes it may happen to travel into your backyard if the soil is good enough and settle down there, so keep an eye out or you may accidentally lure a surprise visitor into your backyard!
This section is more based on backstory and origin lore
It’s said that before humans and Pokemon lived together in harmony this Pokemon didn’t exist yet. It was before humans started to die to the poison of a beautiful, uniqe flower found in the wild. Some say these Pokemon are the souls of the dead people, coming back as possessed plants of the flower that once killed them. But wait! Isn’t that JUST a story to be read to children to teach them not to touch and consume unknown plants?
Others on the other hand don’t believe in this at all, instead they believe this Pokemon did exist but they were too well hidden to be seen because they started to die from their own poison. Overtime they evolved to adjust to their dangerous poison to not be wiped out as a species and to survive. Some professors actually believe in this story more and are trying to figure out the origins of this Pokemon.
Which story do you believe in more? Do you believe in the more.. “logical” explanation that they used to die from their own poison? Or do you believe that some bed time stories just are true...
