when [ second day of larissa fair ] who [ alessia & open ] where [ fair stalls ]
Alessia had shown up early to ensure that everything would be set up perfectly. Her plans did include wandering the stalls of the fair herself to try all the delicacies that she’d missed and new dishes that some were attempting. To see the wares that would be sold and the stories that would be told over an exchange. By the end of the day she was sure she’d collapse at home, feet swelling in her shoes from all the walking but infinitely happy and prepared for a great night of sleep and the bonfire on the third day. But that would be jumping ahead - first she had to finish today.
Alessia tied the last blue ribbon on the treat bag before she set it on the try. Along the table, she had baked treats for pets - dogs, cats, small animals, and a few things here and there for the odd animals. Each clear bag was tied with a little blue ribbon and a little card attached to it had a simple message with the date of her clinic’s grand opening. Just around the corner and a terrifying idea considering how much work still needed to be done. But Alessia would get it all taken care of in the end. She always did.
Not a surprise, the moment the fair opened up for the day, people swept in and went from one stall to another. Alessia cheerfully greeted each person, answered questions, and caught up with everyone who she remembered or remembered herself. Only when traffic seemed to slow down was she able to take a deep breath and come around the front of the stall.
“My goodness, that last guy was a real number. I wasn’t sure how many times I was going to have to explain to him that he was eating a dog treat. Not that you can’t eat them, they’re actually really great.”

kaianader·:
WHO: Kaia & Open WHERE: Town Centre WHEN: First day of the Larissa Fair, 5:15pm
The Larissa Fair and Bonfire was something that Kaia remembered well from their childhood – an event that their parents had always made a big fuss over, dragging Kaia along behind them, toddling on little legs as soon as she knew how to walk. The fair still stands out prominently in her childhood memories, her parents had always seen a magic in the whole event that Kaia failed to recognise – they’d been coming to it for years before she was born, and continued to do so for years after she left. Their mother had been especially fond of the whole affair – Kaia’s mind supplying vivid imagery of her mother donning a sundress and wide-brimmed hat no matter the weather, grinning from ear to ear, lips painted crimson red and dark eyes alight with joy.
Kaia hadn’t been back to the fair since moving back to Larissa. Granted, there had only been one opportunity to do so since then. She couldn’t quite bring herself to attend last year – all of her memories of the fair had been of her mother, and twelve months ago the loss had still been fresh, the pain still raw. Though they wouldn’t have admitted it, attending the fair had seemed like an impossible task at the time. She saw her mother everywhere in Larissa, but the fair held some of Kaia’s happiest memories of their mother – it felt wrong that she wouldn’t be there again. Though the memories were still raw, Kaia was choosing to attend this year, maybe she’d finally be able to figure out why her parents had loved it so much here, what was so special about it.
The children’s play had just begun, and Kaia had to admit, she was thoroughly entertained by it, though part of her was desperately waiting for it to be over so that the real celebrations could begin – but wasn’t that what everyone was thinking?
“I don’t know about you,” They whisper to the person next to them, “But I think the little Hephaestus has some real acting chops. Might see him in Hollywood one day.”
Tumblr media
The best part of being back in Larissa? The fair. Alessia could happily embrace it with a warm welcome, could push those she’d brought back into her friend circle to go and enjoy in the fun. The first day would be the familiar play - one that Alessia had very fond memories of as a child, bright eyed and ever wondering. The second day was also highly anticipated, especially because Alessia had signed up to participate and she intended to bring baked pet treats to promote her clinic’s upcoming grand opening. But today was all about the history and the fun - the children and the possibilities. Alessia thrived off this type of environment.
Alessia had shown up early to make sure she’d gotten a seat. After having been gone for so long, she wasn’t even sure how many people still attended the fair actively. She’d hoped everyone. Happily, she found that there were plenty of people who were attending the first day of the fair. Even better, many familiar faces from when she was young who were now attending with their own children. She hoped her father was smiling down on the fair, watching the events and remembering the times they’d shared there together.
The play was well underway when she heard the whisper beside her and Alessia couldn’t stop the smile that tugged at the corners of her lips. “Might just put Larissa on the map, we’ll have to keep an eye on that one.” She giggled softly. “I think they picked the perfect one for Zeus too.” Alessia hadn’t been able to stop noticing the little kid who’d seemed to want to steal the limelight. “Larissa’s got some up and coming talent, that’s for sure.”

[ theo-nikolaidis ]
TIME: Mid Afternoon LOCATION: The Park STATUS: Open
He’d woken up with his fingers itching. The all too familiar sensation of not having spent nearly enough time playing his cello. Finding the time lately had been harder than he’d like to admit. Between the move and getting settled at the new school most days had been the wake up with his nose to the grinder kind of days. Up at dawn and in best by nine. But today? Today he had nothing. No school. No meetings. Nothing. And he planned to spend every minute of it outside with his cello in hand.
And he’s been out here for hours now, lost to the music, his fingers easily breathing life into the melodies. He wasn’t playing anything complicated but Theo often lost himself to the sounds and sensations of playing. It’s like he goes into another world when he plays. It’s only the sporadic applause that pulls him from that grey area of total musical concentration. It takes him a minute to shake the fuzz from his head before he shoots a blindingly bright smile at the audience. “Got any requests?” He scans the crowd, running his fingers down the strings a few times before plucking out a few more notes. “I think I’ve got one more in me before my fingers give out.” He laughs brightly, amused in every way by his own joke. “I can play almost anything. Emphasis on the almost part though.”
Tumblr media
In an effort to bring herself out of her new home and the new clinic, Alessia had made the decision to go for a walk. Much to the happiness of Zeus who’d learned that he could only chase his tail so many times before it became boring. She needed to buy him some toys while working on the clinic so he’d at least be kept busy. For the time being, they geared up and made their way outside with a quick stop for coffee. Even if it had been a sad motion of fate to bring her back to Larissa, she couldn’t help but feel ecstatic about being back.
Granted, Alessia had made a promise a long time ago that she would come back one day. It hadn’t mattered if she would have been young or old, she would always come home.
And maybe being back has made her a little more cheerful than usual - which is already an abundant amount so long as no one managed to piss her off. Alessia said hello to everyone she passed, offered up conversation whenever she could, and found herself settling in one day at a time.
In her adventure out, she caught sight of a familiar face and made no hesitation to walk over and admire her brother’s talent and the crowd that had gathered. Zeus was apparently much more interested in finding treats in Theo’s pockets. With a soft pull, he came back to her side and she gave her brother an apologetic smile. “He’s too spoiled. You should play the song you always used to play for me. I can’t remember what it was called,” Alessia couldn’t place the title but she did hum a few little notes.

ABOUT ALESSIA. — ✦ HEADCANON 001
A surprise to none, Alessia currently does own a few animals. Her white Alopekis is three years old and his name is Zeus, a force to be reckoned with but so much lovable energy. She adopted him from a shelter before she moved back to Larissa. She also has two miniature goats that came into her home her first week back. A nearby neighbor couldn’t take care of them anymore and she more than happily jumped at the opportunity and has since named them Arowe and Pipsqueak. River is the black cat and ruler of the house. He’s ten years old and one giant lump of laziness but when he wants attention, oh boy does he want it. Alessia’s owned him since he was a kitten and she nursed him back to health. They’ve been bonded ever since and he doesn’t take kindly to others with the exception of Theo. The last pets are the chickens that roam around her property. They came with the land - an added bonus to Alessia. And yes, they’re all named.

[ msfrancescanomikos· ]
time: mid afternoon
location: outside local cafe
with: open
Francesca lived for weather like this, it wasn’t too hot that it was balmy but it was warm enough to sit at the outside chairs with Ariadne. People tended to do a double take when they saw her walk into a restaurant with a dog in tow and given that she hardly walked with a cane, most turned their nose up pretty quick. Sitting outside was just easier, plus the fresh air did her some good. Reaching down to stroke Ari’s ears, her head lifted as something caught her eye, a woman in a flowing dress, just outside of her field of vision, just where she shouldn’t be able to see. Her head whipped to left, determined to get a better view but the woman was gone. She could swear she was losing her mind. A voice caught her attention dragging her back toward the table and away from her confused thoughts. “I’m sorry, what did you say? I got distracted.”
Tumblr media
Alessia’s eyes searched for whatever it was that had captivated the other for that moment in time - drawn in by something. But her eyes came up empty with the exception of everything else in the view frame that was horribly mundane. Perhaps it was the mundane that had caught the other’s attention. “We all get distracted, no need to apologize! When someone walks by me with a plate of cheesecake, everything else in the world fades away. It’s a bit of a problem.” Alessia laughed, the sound soft and carefree - a brightness somehow held in something so simple. “I wanted to know if you wanted to share some of my bis--cookies?” Alessia inquired, quick to correct herself as she held out the cookies. Chocolate chip, a classic always. “They’re fresh out of the oven and absolutely amazing. I might just die from bliss with these.”

Meet Alessia Nikolaidis the thirty five-year-old veterinarian. Her essence is Artemis and her power is Animal Manipulation. — ✦
Hello, I’m Jessa! Above you have the wonderful Alessia who probably does have that expression with ninety percent of people that she meets. I promise she’s an angel majority of the time, she’s just also very sassy and doesn’t like to deal with dumb people. So a little summary about her:
As evident, has always loved animals and has a deep connection with them. She’s the kid who brought home strays all the time, asked for every kind of animal, and she happily took care of them all.
Crazy smart, always wanted to keep learning. Wouldn’t be surprising to see her walking around with books in her arms. Also 10/10 that kid who would correct the teacher and not feel bad about it. But also totally that kid who would tutor and help everyone who couldn’t figure something out.
Social butterfly who would talk to everyone and be friends with everyone. but totally has always had a no drama policy even as a kid. was just like ‘who’s got time for this?’ but otherwise would hang out with anyone
100% sad when she moved away, did not want to leave home but also always kept her love for Greece alive and learned a lot about what she could of the mythology, history, etc.
Eventually went to University of Oxford and fell in love with just the history and the people she met there. She has a lot of fond memories from her college career and this was the time that Alessia really blossomed more into herself but also absorbed herself into school and work. It did cause some of her friendships to suffer, Alessia forgets to bring her head out from work.
Traveller! She spent a lot of time traveling all around. Always kept in touch with her family but really wanted to see more about the world and learn as much as she could from other people rather than just staying in one place.
Her family is everything to her. Alessia can’t imagine not having them in her life which is why losing a parent hit her really hard. She’s generally just protective of everyone that she loves and if you’re in her inner circle, she will do anything for you. Even if someone is like ten times her size, she’ll raise her tiny little fists and tell ‘em fight me
do! not! touch! her! brother!
She is a very confident lady, full of smiles, will make you swoon if she tries.
Since coming back to Larissa, she’s been working a lot of opening up her clinic. Don’t be surprised if you’ve seen her running around the city like a madwoman.
Also she lives in a little cottage just on the outskirts so she has her plot of land. She’s been trying to renovate her house at the same time but her clinic is number one priority right now.
And fun fact: she’s obsessed with cheesecake. Bring her a cheesecake and she’ll marry you.

ABOUT ALESSIA. — ✦
A serene minute in the passing of time may be trivial to the hands of Fate but for Alessia, it is her first memory stored with perfect clarity. The trees rustled with the aid of a gentle salty breeze; the canopy had been thick, vibrant green, and thriving with the hum of life. A small break in the branches and leaves brought down the warmth and iridescent glow of the sunshine into a clear spot on the trail with two dandelions swaying in a rhythmic ebb and flow. With little noise and a gentle approach, a hind red deer trotted into the patch of sun and lowered its head to graze from the fresh grass still damp with dew. There were traces of the winter coat still left on the deer, but soon to fly away in the breeze and welcome the coming of spring. Five years old with the light of the world in her eyes, Alessia stood a distance away from the deer with a hand outstretched. Her hand moved to trace the top of the deer’s head and up along its neck, following the curve of its back. Ever so careful to not make any noise, the deer still looked up at her to meet eyes. A moment later, her laughter broke the silence of the woods as she felt herself picked up and swung around, hiked up onto her father’s shoulders to go back to the rest of the family. Alessia had never forgotten that moment in the woods and the feeling in that instant of meeting eyes with the deer. As a child and an adult, it became a fond memory.
Alessia’s childhood is one of brightness and spirit. A whirlwind of colors and laughter. She grew up ambitious right from the start, always a surprise for teachers or adults. With a whole world out there full of knowledge and possibility she wanted nothing more than to take advantage of it. The advantage gave her the ability to place herself above others and while she never did so maliciously – Alessia learned at an early age that being two steps ahead was very important. She was also a social butterfly with those around her – easy at making friends and any person who spent five minutes alone with Alessia could see the captivation in her words, in her intelligence. Perhaps what made it so easy to move away from Larissa and settle into a new environment full of unknowns. While she may have been young when her family moved away from Greece, it would always be her home. Her parents were more than happy through the years to continue educating her about the culture, the history, the mythology behind Greece. It took root in her being, something that she would later come to learn to be far more important than anything else in her life with the exception of one – her brother.
A shock to no one – Alessia has always been fiercely loyal. Those who have found themselves in her inner circle and her family have witnessed time and time again of her undying love for them. Any person to say anything of ill-will of her parents were met with the feisty power of Alessia – intimidating and unrelenting. And if any person dared to do such to her brother? Alessia would ensure they regretted the decision to have ever even had an ill thought in his direction. Unfortunately for those who have found themselves on her bad side, they never find their way back. From a teenager to the present time as an adult, Alessia will sever ties without a second thought after retribution has been paid. A woman of gentle smiles and witty prose, that is only one fragment of herself. There will always be the part of her that is a woman of fierce attitude and vengeful tactics. She has always given her whole heart to those she loves and will give everything else of herself to protect them.
Alessia completed her exams with high marks and went on to complete her biomedical sciences undergraduate at the University of Oxford – part of St. Edmund Hall her first and last year. A surprise to none, Alessia continued her education with the University of London at the Royal Veterinary College. Since childhood she’d been drawn to animals. Her parents had been supportive in her love and she grew up surrounded by animals. Fenrir the rabbit. Poppy the border collie. Pip, Locke, and Flint the miniature goats. Those were only a few of the animals that she’d brought home and raised. It was always a natural allure to them and as a person who enjoyed taking care of others, taking care of animals was hardly different. In some ways, better. Alessia studied hard with the intent of being able to one day help animals – to educate and give love to those that had been forgotten by the world. Professors often remarked on her extreme dedication and vision for the future she had set for herself. And a vision she had for herself indeed.
After graduating, Alessia bounced around from one place to another to gain experience and see the world. She continuously kept in contact with those she loved, visiting often, but she wasn’t satisfied with learning everything she could from one sole place. There would always be more people out there with more knowledge, more experience. However, there had always been a plan in mind. Since she moved away from Larissa, Alessia had the intent of returning. As a child, she’d told her parents time and time again that she would return home. As a young adult, she continued to tell her family that one day she would find her way back. Even in the midst of a mountain of lab work, essays to write, and social events to attend, she still found time to read on old history and mythology of her homeland. She talked to her parents regularly in Greek to avoid losing the language. Studied old architecture and art of the past. Her love for Greece never faded despite the distance. However, after the loss of a parent, Alessia went into a deep depressive state. Family is everything to her and she felt the loss in every part of her heart and soul. There were too many nights of sadness and tears. Too many days of just barely getting by before crawling into bed. And yet in those dark days, she found solace in the books she had on the old gods and Greece. The history.
When Alessia reached the point where she felt as if she had learned everything that was offered to her and she’d found herself out of the darkness she’d fallen into, she announced with full confidence that she would be moving back to Larissa. A ticket already bought. A home already purchased. She arrived in Larissa with hopeful ambition and her brother alongside.
ABILITIES. — ✦
The abilities of Alessia extends toward animals – the first and foremost being her ability to sense an animal’s emotions and understand them. It was easy for her to assume that it was a simple touch of being tuned into the animals within her home before realizing that it was more. Especially the more animals came across her path in Larissa. Since the manifestation, her abilities have come to light one at a time. Sensing emotions turned into communicating with animals – understanding simple words for the moment but slowly progressing into more as Alessia learns and trains her abilities. She has yet to discover her ability to heal but that is soon to come light and begin as with her other abilities. For healing, it’ll start with simple scrapes and bruises that can be healed before being able to heal wounds and broken bones. She will not be able to bring any animal back from the brink of death – there’s a limit to her abilities. And in the matter of death, she would not interfere unless someone unjustly took the life of the animal or she could see a future benefit to doing so. To heal, tame, or start the process to control any animal, she will need to touch them. Communication can be done through sight alone. When more animals are involved, she can extend her abilities to multiple animals at one time but with the limit of five at most – she can try to push for more but it becomes messy and harder to control. If the animal is entirely unwilling (threatened by her, fearful of her, etc.) and she’s not able to communicate her intentions, when she releases control it will cause the animal to charge or attack her. Alessia will also have to be careful with concentration. If she is controlling any animals’ behavior, concentration breaking could also mean being attacked or causing disaster in some other form. The overall idea with Alessia’s abilities in the future would be a discovery of a new ability and then fixation on advancing and perfecting.
