They have changed the colour of certain things in the video for example, the sky, drums and guitar by using a green screen or colour change on their editing software. Sound session
10th October we had a short video of 3 people running away from a car rolling towards them with no sound. In groups we had a microphone and recorded the sounds. For example banging metal to create the sound of the car crashing. After this we used adobe audition to edit the sounds, cut them down and put them into the right places in the video.

Dickies
Dickies was established in 1918 in Texas by Williamson Dickie. There range of shoes and clothing is very durable and is made for workers like carpenters etc. During World War 2 the company made millions of uniforms for the armed forces. 1950 the company became international and spread over to European market. Now days Dickies is still a very big brand and known as a brand for workers, but it is also now used by skaters, bmxers and for casual cloths. Now Dickies have a range of clothing specifically for skaters etc. and people who want to wear them for casual clothing.

Production diary for Dickies advert
We started filming our advert on the 9th of October. not all our team members where there so the footage we filmed yesterday will most likely be redone when everyone is together. However it is good back up footage and practice of editing. Me and Taylor started filming at 10:30 at the Leisure World Skate park, but we did not stick to the storyboard. We finished filming at 2:00 and practiced some edit with the footage we got.

chase scene analysis
Point break chase scene
After the short car chase, the main detective gets out of the car and starts to run after the bank robbers whilst they are in the car still getting away. They pull in at a gas station and rob someone’s car. The main robber is then attacked by the detective whilst the other robbers escape. This is the beginning of the foot chase. Already a lot of things have happened and gone horribly wrong for the robbers. This makes the viewer feel a bit confused and sort of in a panic to watch on. Same way the robber has been close to being caught and is now in a panic to escape. As soon as the chase begins, there is a close up of the detectives face as he runs towards the camera. This shows us that he is very keen to catch him and is using a lot of effort. His facial expression tells us this.
The next sequence is the two characters running down alley ways and people’s houses/ gardens. They use first person shots whilst they run down the ally’s. This also gives us the perspective of the detective. The camera is wobbling and tracking whilst they run down alleys and through houses/garden to create more suspense and interactive with the audience.
Once they are out onto the main road again there are a lot of things going on and a lot of people. This still creates a build-up and a sort of panic effect because the characters are deciding where to run the whole time. They don’t know where they are going. There are lots of cuts in this scene whilst they run in front of cars and past people etc. This is what gives it the panic effect. The chase stays like this for a while to make it exciting and more entertaining.
The last scene builds up the most suspense and is a famous scene. The detective falls and injures his leg; he tries to chase him but cannot, so he gets his gun out. The close up of both faces whilst the robber is nearly on the other side of the fence is communicating to the audience that something is wrong. This scene strongly suggests that they know each other. It is giving us clues to what happens later. The long wait with the cuts back and fourth of the two people is to also build up and sort of represent thinking. It is trying to make us feel like the detective. The robber has done something wrong but then he finds out he is his best mate, would you shoot your best mate? This whole scene with the edits, sounds and camera angles also creates a sense of guilt. For example detective feels guilt for nearly/trying to kill his mate, also the robber feels guilt for not telling his friend etc.
