Artist Statement and Bio
Through the medium of painting and collage, Alexander Hunter digests and deconstructs imagery obtained from the media and reassembles them into new realities. Using juxtaposition as a device to elevate the mundane, he creates his dystopian vision. False idols, false hope and fast food are the orders of the day in this series of artworks that seek to outline the conflicts between consumerism, politics and religion in an increasingly secular society. Alexander Hunter graduated from Central St. Martins School of Art and Design in 2010.
