        alexandria rolled her eyes. “ is this about the bagnold election? ” she asked, sounding bored. “ all i do is get them elected — not my fault the elitist candidate wasn’t good enough to beat my campaign. ” a smirk played at her lips as she signalled the bartender — the millicent bagnold campaign had been a good one. “ dragon bite on the rocks, ” she ordered, before drumming her fingers against the bartop. “ what’re you doing now anyway — just skulking around bars? ” she questioned her former classmate, accepting her new drink from the bartender with an appreciative nod. “ couldn’t you do that back in the land of the free or whatever the fuck they call it ? ”

��       alexandria was flicking through the pages of an article in witch weekly, looking mostly bored with the mildest hint of disgust, like she wasn’t quite paying full attention to the pages before her — but she was, and anybody close enough and observant enough would have noticed that her eyes were indeed scanning the page. she tapped a finger against the bench thoughtfully. she was looking at a recently published profile of a popular quidditch player from the ballycastle bats, a real potential candidate for the josef wronski award for excellent pitch skills. many people were under the misguided impression that awards were decided on by an authoritative body purely based on merit; in actual fact, it was possible to campaign for an award, and nearly every winner did so. they didn’t tend to explicitly state that they were campaigning for an award — there’s nothing sexy about fighting to get an award, after all. it looks much better to get up on stage and smile graciously, like i never believed i could get this. the world likes humility — it makes famous people likeable, relatable, palatable. alexandria knew all about that. she had worked on political campaigns ( the 1975 one as an intern and recent hogwarts grad to minchum’s opposition, and the 1980 one as executive director, despite her youth — it paid off and her candidate, millicent bagnold, was elected ) but also worked — due to the infrequency of ministerial elections — on campaigns regarding laws, organisations and even during awards.

        this young man whose profile she was looking at, erebus manning, was good-looking, charming, from an inoffensive family and adequately talented at seeking usually, but had been having an especially lucky run the last few months. however, he was not her prospective client. her prospective client was from another team, the appleby arrows, and it was her job to not only bolster his popularity, but to assess the threats. alexandria had identified erebus manning as his primary threat ( they were all ranked in terms of relevance ) and was now considering all the ways she could discredit him, or at the very least, prove how much better her client was, even if he wasn’t. that was the job, after all.

        with this in mind, she took a sip of her coffee. ��� tell me, ” she said abruptly, turning to the person next to her at the bench ( to whom she had paid absolutely no mind until now, focused as she had been on the profile ), “ what are your thoughts on erebus manning? ”

finally back on my laptop and here to tell y’all about alexandria!

( LILY COLLINS, SHE/HER ) — ALEXANDRIA GREENGRASS ? oh, you mean the TWENTY-FIVE year old HALFBLOOD. they’re working as a CAMPAIGN MANAGER now, aren’t they ? I’ve heard they’re really CAPABLE, but i know for a fact that they can be UNREPENTANT at times. No wonder they’ve decided to SIDE WITH THE NEUTRALS.

so alexandria is a halfblood, former slytherin

professionally known as alexandria and it’s how she is introduced / tends to introduce herself but some of her friends know her as lexi

she has pureblood cousins but the greengrasses are slightly less intense than a lot of the traditional families and her mum’s a halfblood and skilled witch anyway so it’s not like she’s a muggle

in all honesty, if she wasn’t a halfblood, she might be more in line with the death eaters and stuff but she’s definitely not the type to support a system that puts her at an inherent disadvantage — sure, she’s still valued way above muggleborns, muggles and squibs, but halfblood still isn’t pureblood, even with a good surname, and she’s never going to support something that puts her at a disadvantage. that’s no way to win lmao

she has no interest in fighting for the order either because like ?? she has no intention of putting herself at risk to help others, let alone total strangers

she’s working as a campaign manager bc she’s really good at it ?? she’s sharp and quick and clever and tough and has never been easily cowed and it makes her a very effective campaign manager, especially because she’s always been pretty strategic and, bc she’s never been especially concerned with being noble or moral highground or anything ( except for how candidates and campaigns can spin it to their advantage ), she’s pretty good at accounting for her opposition’s moves bc she’s willing to think the worst of them in ways some of her more idealistic peers are not, which can leave them blindsided by the lengths to which some people will go

in another life, she’d have been an incredible investigative journalist bc she’s ruthless and tenacious and doesn’t back down or get blown off — like a dog with a bone, once she’s sunk her teeth into something

definitely a red wine kinda gal, but she will drink anything unless it’s shit ( she values herself too much to make herself suffer with bad alcohol )

she’s dedicated and driven and keeps her word, but she can be hard to convince of things or sway to your side

she will always look out for herself but she can be very loyal to those to whom she truly trusts but that’s a pretty small and exclusive circle

she’s so very not idealistic and then her job is about bringing about change and it’s such a ?? juxtaposition but it’s mostly for the win for her. that might change if she gets a campaign or candidate who she actually believes in or actively disbelieves in but she’s a bit cynical and is yet to find anything that she’s invested in with more than her desire to succeed or has made her react with more than an amused smirk and raised eyebrow

tends to sleep with guys who don’t interest her conversationally. i don’t know. she’s observant and a bit sharp and there are lots of people where she doesn’t actually engage with — and honestly, probably actively ignores a lot of the time — but when someone keeps up, she can be anything between amused and pleased and surprised

i’m probably missing something important but idk what so. message me if you have any questions or you want to plot or something!! <333 i think there’s only like two characters her age rn but given her job, she probably has connections in a bunch of places ( or the rest of her campaign team does, leaking certain stories to the media, meeting important people to convince them to support whatever they’re working on, even certain locations as regular settings for meetings with potential investors and stuff ) so yeah!
