Alexina watched her daughter sleep, tucked safely in the crib that lay next to her bed. Shirina Thorne had been born a week early, tiny and small. A dark mop of hair covered her head, everything seemed so perfect about her. How could lies and pain have created something so innocent? The birth had been easier then Alexina would have thought.
Labor had gone on for nearly ten hours. At 4:30 in the morning, Shirina was welcomed into the world at 5 lbs., 8 oz. (2.5 kg)18.1 in. (46 cm). Alexina wanted her close by at all times, never letting her daughter out of her sight. Still, on bed rest for another day or so, Alexina spent most of the hours bonding with Shirina.
Word had reached her about the birth of her sister’s little boy. Two weeks before his own due day. As much as she wanted to reconnect with Ven, to allow her sister to meet Shirina. It would be another month before she took her daughter out of the house.
Troubled thoughts plagued her mind though. How would Ven react to seeing her daughter? Would she become upset? Would she recent Shirina because of who her father was? Though those thoughts always got pushed away quickly, because Alexina knew that because Ven was a mother, that she would welcome her into the family. Or so she hoped.
“Sleep my little Sea Angel,” she whispered close to Shirina’s sleeping face, before placing a soft kiss upon her cheek. Shirina’s little hand quickly latched on to Alexina’s finger, and soon her mother joined her in sleep.

🔥…someone my muse would die for.
Her sister. She would and has taken a bullet for her. They might not always see eye to eye on things. But she loves Ven.

Alexina only has a few friends, mostly those who work for her sister. At this moment, she does not have a *Best* Friend. She’s not allowed herself to really get close enough to anyone. Other than her sister. If anyone comes close to being a *Best* Friend, it would be Ven.
@lorraine-lemieux Thank you for the ask. @venreenaholt for mentions.

Changes...
“These came for you today.” Alexina looked up as Alicia entered the office at the shipping yard. “Thank you, Alicia, do you know who it’s from?” she took the rather large envelope from her. Alicia shook her head “I don’t miss. Though it seems rather important. From the seal on it. Would you like some tea?” she asked Alexina. “Yes please, and make sure the men know they can go home for the day. And ask Johnson to come to see me, I want to find out how The Silver Phoenix is coming along.” Elicia nods before leaving the room.
Alex turned the envelope over and broke the seal after sitting down behind her desk again, this time leaning back in the chair. She recognized the seal, it belonged to Mr. Stanislaus. The man she had been doing business with in order to get all the paperwork in order when the shipping yard had been transferred to her name.
“Miss Thorne,
Please forgive me for the lateness of this letter and the contents within. After doing some further digging, it has come to my attention that Lord Captain Ainsworth has left you more than The Fairfield Shipping.
Inclosed you will find the deed to not only the Fairfield Shipping but also the titles and lands of Ainsworth Manor. I know this must come as a shock to you as it did me. But it would seem that you are now officially Lady Alexina Thorne, Lady of Ainsworth.
Please contact me should you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
George G. Stanislaus “
There was an eerie silence as the letter fell to her desk. This could not be right. There had to be some mistake? She knew about the shipping yard, but nothing had ever been said about the estate that rested not too far from it. It had been thought that those lands had belonged to another family, after all, Alexina had been living comfortably in a small cottage close to the yard it’s self.
But here it was, written as plain as day before her. Tears stung her eyes as she read the document. Brandyn had always been silent about his past. Only a select few had known the truth of where he had come from, why he had left. It would seem that his bloodline had died with him.
Well, that would explain why Alicia stood steadfast in working for her and why she had gotten all the odd looks when she moved into the cottage and not the manor itself. Placing the papers back into the envelope, she stood up just as Elicia came in with her tea, “I need to see my sister, please inform Johnson I won’t be meeting with him after all.” Alicia nods once, standing there just inside the door as Alexina left. Her sister would know what to do, at least she hoped so.

Targeted.
The thick fog that he crept in during the early hours of the morning had cleared by now allowing the sun’s bright rays to filter in through the canopy of leaves. The animals that called the forest just beyond the borders of Boralus were peacefully grazing through the trees with no concern for what was happening within the city borders or its denizens.
BANG!
A series of shots rang through the air, scaring off the birds and sending them flying through the air. There was a momentary pause more shots ripped through the previously peaceful atmosphere. Yet none of the animals had been injured or killed.
A pistol filled two small feminine hands, holding it steadily pointed at a target pinned into a large oak. BANG! BANG! BANG! Each bullet tore through the paper, either embedding in the tree or richocheting off. It was a simple bullseye target but in Venreena’s mind, two faces were plastered on it.
No sleep had been granted her after the news of The Sea Phoenix being commandeered and with a heavy haul of Azerite no less. How was she going to explain that to the authorities? She had to report it, didn’t she? It would be the lawful thing to do but she hated to think of just how much trouble she would be in if it was discovered that an entire shipment of Azerite was now in the hands of a madman and his psycho lover.
Her ship was gone. Two ships had been taken and from what she pieced together, her Man O’ War was in the same dangerous hands as well. The fact that her employees, sister and brother in law were safe provided little comfort from the predicament she found herself in.
“Crazy fucking psycho bitch! I should have killed you when I had the chance!” Venreena growled maliciously sending another wave of shots to the target. She would think of something to cover it up, something to try and get at least The Sudden Storm back. Figure out a way to get those who had escaped back to Boralus. Figure out a way to get Alex out of Tol Dagor.
She had to. There was no other option.

Reclamation
A deal with the devil.
Though who the devil was in this particular situation was up for debate. Percival Thalsian the third met a man who boasted knowledge and assets. He had the means to steal back the ship that once belonged to his beloved -from a time before the hate, the pain, the evil- in exchange for the cargo it held.
Canon fire threatened the crew of the Sea Phoenix not to try and escape, curses crippled them into submission. A trio of warlocks boarded the ship with an entourage of demons at their heel. A show of power made by the newest cult of magicians to mark their place in the world, and show they were a force to be reckoned with.
Some crew members spat venom out of frustration, others tried to fight back. They were punished for their insolence. One mouthy shadowmancer who seemed to defy the odds eventually found herself at the mercy of a Vile Fiend that tossed her over board. A huntress watched as her beloved canine companion was destroyed from the inside out by a witches heinous cursed magic only to have Cypris toss her to the sea as well. By his mercy alone were the most prominent members of the crew granted freedom. The rest, were left to the host of demons to do with as they please; or to Caedera and her twisted fantasies. Light have mercy on the men and women who met her particular brand of fun.

Now, The Sea Phoenix was in the hands of Percival and his associates. The seas of Azeroth now subject to his will. His beloved to captain her, his demons to crew her…
…Light have mercy on the world.

The Meeting
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Rian dipped her head. “I’d like to be apprised of the whens and wheres so to keep ready for updates.” She’d glimpse towards Venreena. “I’d be able to hold my composure I’d like to think. As would he given the nature of his other workings. Do understand I mean no ill will or judgement in plans. I just want my family back. I could care less about the ships.” She let off a sigh. “But We will ask around for word. And see what we might recover.”
“I promise to keep you informed Rian, you have my word. We -will- get him back,” Venreena vowed to Rian.
“I guess I need t’ go get hired by sketchy people now,” Alexandria said, standing. Audrik stood as Alexandria did.
Venreena looked across to her, “Be careful,” she said.

The Meeting
Part 1 | Part 2
Lorraine jolted silghtly, looked up as her comm gave a gentle buzz, “…Lord Holt has found something,” she says, speaking suddenly. Her eyes are torn away from the wall to Venreena.
Alexandria was fastest, “Which Lord Holt? There’s like…a billion o’ them.”
Venreena looked downward at her as Lorraine had jerked her chin upward at the woman, “Her brother-in-law.”
Alexina leaned forward as she rested her arms on it, “Jacob Holt, Cedrick’s brother.” she said, clarifying.
Motlos tilted his head towards Lorraine, his eyebrows arching in unspoken questions.
“Wot is it then?” Alexandria asked.

The Meeting
Part 1
“Hello, Rian. Ven,” Lorraine said, nodding at each. It had felt like forever since this morning as she trudged her way towards the Holt and Thorne’s Boralus office.
Rian offered a concerned smile as she stepped into the building with a nod, “Lorraine, Venreena.”
Venreena idly chewed on some fruit and cheese as people started to filter in. Swallowing her food down, she nodded to the two women. “Lorraine, Rian.”
Lorraine lowered herself onto the bench beside the other woman and sat utterly still there, a strange look on her face. As if she wasn’t breathing.
Alexandria rolled her shoulders, meandering inside with a brow raised. A new person involved she hadn’t met before? She shrugged before locating a place to sit.
Rian settled herself into a seat. A hand smoothing over her robes as she noted Lorraine’s expression.

Moving forward...
Hooves pounded over the sand as Alexina leaned lower along Black Jack’s neck, the massive stallion’s black main danced in the wind. Here she felt the freedom she so badly needed. The hills to the north beckoned her while men hired by her worked in the hot sun to repair the shipping yard. Just up the hill from the main shipping yard was a rather large house.
For once in her life, she had a place that belonged to her. A place she could raise her child in peace. Rather the babe is a boy or a girl, their love for the sea would be just as great as their mother’s.
The salty sea air stung her eyes and face, the sand kicked up from hooves dusted her long legs as they squeezed Black Jack’s slick sides. The warmth of his body felt under her as she rode bareback, muscles rippled under the gaudiness of her calves. Soon their speed slowed down while fingers grip his main.

Nostrils flared as both rider and horse looked out over the sea as the sun started to lower. A single hand went to rest on the slight swell of her stomach. There her babe grew safely. One last trip my little one. You will love the sea just as I do,” she whispered softly, lashes lowered to cover amber hues. With a nudge of her knee, she turned Black Jack back toward their new home.
Her and Ven had made amends, she had forgiven her. For the first time in over a month, she felt at peace. She reached the edge of a single cliff and pulled Black Jack to a stop. A true genuine smile tugs at the corner of her lips, she was home. Tonight started a whole new adventure for her. She had to pack and get ready to meet Lori and Mot. She only hoped her stomach could handle the portal.

Shattered Soul.....

Tonight is supposed to be a time of laughter, drinks, and friendships. For those to come together and talk, to enjoy each others company. But how could a broken soul smile? Laugh? Ask for forgiveness for what she had done? “He took advantage of you! You are not to blame!” Despite those words, Alexina still felt in some way it was her fault. “She will hate you” his words woke her at night.
Her sister could not even bear the thought of looking at her, “Maybe you should give her a few days.” She had taken Lori’s advice even though she had already planned to leave that day. Maybe a few days out on the sea could clear her troubled thoughts, to help make sense of what really happened. For the first time in her young life, Alexina knew what pain and heartache truly felt like.
They never found out what happened to Ben’s body. No one even knew how he died. The pain of his loss still weighed heavy on her heart. Despite not having a body, they had honored him in a burial at sea. They spoke of memories, while Alexina stood back and watched. It had been far too painful to speak.
Even then, she could see his smile, hear his laughter. He would always be there in her heart.
As she stood now looking out over the sea, Alexina closed her eyes. “I’m so sorry Ben.” Her words lost in the wind that danced through locks of brown hair.
Her soul was broken, she would never be that same woman. But in time the pain would lose its grip on her heart. Despite who the father of her unborn child was, she would love him or her. In time she hoped her sister would forgive her, that they could once more be close. She needed Ven now.
In time.......She would heal...Tonight, she would put on a brave face, smile, and laugh. While deep down inside she screamed...
