Look closely at the paintings from artists like Titian and Goya and you might spy one of these precious pups. The Bolognese was recognized by the Federation Cynologique Internationale in 1989.
The most distinctive feature of these dogs is their fur which falls in loose ringlets all over their body. Expect for their faces which sports shorter hair they are woolly as sheep and most owners never trim or clip them. They do not shed much despite their fluffy appearance. They do need to be groomed frequently to keep their fur from matting. Their color is white and their eyes are round, dark and large. Their height is between 10 to 12 inches at the withers, and their weight falls between 9 to 11 pounds. So when selecting their home, be it a crate, a kennel or playpen like the ones found on http://www.iconicpup.com/product-reviews/best-outdoor-dog-kennels-reviews/, ensure you opt for the larger size.聽
The Bolognese is a smart companion who enjoys the company of people, but will be a bit formal around anyone they don鈥檛 know. They make good watchdogs as they only bark when something out of the ordinary happens, and aren鈥檛 overly yappy. They might not be as active as other similar dogs such as the Bichon Frise, but they do make good friends for the right owner. They are good with children, but should be watched carefully around larger animals who might take advantage of the small Bolognese.

Manchester Terrier Dog Breed
The Manchester Terrier came from tough circumstances. The Manchester was bred down from the Whippet in order to produce a smaller dog with the same characteristics. The Manchester was popular not only as a small game hunter, but also in what was known as rat pit gaming where dogs competed to kill the small vermin which were plentiful during the 1800鈥檚. The Manchester made quick work of smaller animals and could in fact take on opponents larger than then anyone would think possible.

The modern day dog has some holdovers to those hard times. The ears are cropped as they once were to keep them from being torn in fight. Fewer owners opt to have the tail docked as they once did. The weight standard for this breed is 12 to 22 pounds and the Toys are standard at 12 pounds. Nowadays these little dogs with big hearts are not found fighting for their lives in pits or even the very best dog kennels, but in the arms of loving families. Their slick black and tan coat makes them an easy to care for breed with a solid disposition. They are not hard to find and they are very affordable.
