the inquisitor getting absolutely batshit side plots that become almost entirely irrelevant the second youre not directly interacting w them is as funny as it is irritating.

you get this literal actual cult on nar shadda thats only ever brought up again near the end of chp.3 and somehow(without your input??) theyre the only ones producing this hyperspecific and important computer chip that you need to equip a fleet with lazers so strong they can just fucking obliterate anything

you unearth this ancient rakatan machine that 1- is apparently responsible for creating twileks, zabrak, and also the fucking esh-ka??? & 2- can rebuild your body(possibly even from scratch but thats debatable tbh) better than it was

theres a fuckin guy on rishi thats been getting messages from the rishi maze for 30 YEARS and they're all about making these machines that specifically lengthen the inquisitors lifespan, and say some really fucking weird shit while doing so(ie, "the tesseract is fear", "redeem or destroy", "someone must be sacrificed", "beware his desires")

and then theres the whole "even outside of the weird rakata machines and other misc bullshit, you still might be a lttle immortal, oops!" bc unless im remembering this wrong, thanaton flat out kills the inquisitor but it doesnt stick because of the ghosts?? what the fuck was up with that anyways

Just saw a post that is driving me insane because it's trying to rationalize the whole "Jedi can't have attachments" thing as being like Buddhism and just being about letting things go and like, if it is supposed to be that.... they are doing a bad job. Because what I've seen and heard in canon is.

Children must be taken from their parents extremely young, otherwise they might bond with their parents and gain attachments. Parents that give their children to the Jedi are supposed to never see or contact them again because apparently bonding with them will lead to attachment and the dark side.

I did read a thing about how, in Legends content Shmi actually tried to tell Anakin that she was free and invite him to her wedding and the temple refused the message, and yes it's no longer In Canon but I can't not think about that.

Padawans that grow close in childhood are expected to give up their bonds in adulthood because those are attachments and they can't have them.

Romantic relationships are forbidden because they are also attachments which will lead you to hell the dark side.

Having children is also forbidden because loving your child is also an attachment and will lead you to the dark side.

Like try to justify it as really actually just being about toxic attachments if you want but! That is simply not what is happening! As far as the Jedi are concerned, any relationships or intimacy will lead you to the dark side and you should not and cannot have them.

If you don't want this, you are allowed to leave, but you won't have anyone to help you, because you won't have any outside connections. You won't have a relationship with your parents to fall back on, you likely won't have friends to fall back on (all of your friends were in the order) and you don't have any idea how the outside world actually works.

So like. You can leave. But how easily can you really fucking leave?
