About This Term

Hello everyone, It’s me for the last time. I am very sad to let you guys know that this is my very last post. We are closing this semester which means our Instructional Thecnology and Desing course has come to an end. This course helped me a lot in means of using thecnology and integrate it into my class in the future.I experienced a lot and I realize that how much I love working collabratively in this course.

So, what is this term about?

This term is all about learning how to use technology and the importance of technology especially the era that we are living which is called technology era.In today’s world, ignoring the importance of technology would be so meaningless so taking a course which is all about integrating technology into class means a lot to me. Especially in my future career, I am pretty sure that this course will help me a lot.I am very grateful for taking this course.

It is a well-known fact that using technology in classes really enhances the students level of motivation and their eager to participate in classes. We all pretty sure that a class without tecnology is so simple and plain. We do not expect from a teacher to just standing in class and teaching his/her lesson.They should be making their lessons more enjoyable and joyful with the help of the tecnology and its tools.

What I liked most about this course is it let us to use our creavitiy in the tasks given on weekly basis. We create book trailers,posters and a lot of creative things throughout the semester.We worked collabratively or on our own.

I hope everyone who will take this course in the next year, will have good and inspring times. I really love taking this course and there is hardly no thing that I did not like. I hope you will love this course and the tasks that will be given.

Let’s Talk About RSS Feed

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! This week, one of the other task of mine is introducing you guys to RSS feed and decribe it and its fuctions. Let’s discover RSS feed and why&how to use it.

RSS Feed in a beneficial tool that enables us to see the new post from the blogs that we follow so easily. It is a time saver application for users whom check their blogs that they are folowing on daily basis.You can either download it to your computer or you can use an online RSS feed reader like me.The RSS feed that i am using is Feeder. It is an simple and easy-to-use site and I like it very much!

The definition of RSS feed is it is short for Really Simple Syndication and its a way to have information delivered to you instead of having to go find it. RSS feed allows you to subscribe to a blog or website and have any new published information sent to you so you do not have to go looking for it. Also you can categorize the posts according to your interest ,hobby etc.

HOW TO USE IT

-Install the RSS feed or sign in the online reader.

-Paste the url’s of blogs you want to follow

-Add them to your feed and categorize the post according to your interests if you want to.

So, here is my Feeder. I follow some Elt blogs and blogs about Technology.When the blogs have a new post, the post immediately bear on my home page.My favorite blog is ThinkTechEd.

ThinkTechEd is a blog focused on incorprating technology into the classroom and educational settings all for the overall goal to learn and educate. In their blog they say that they hope to encourage educate teachers and students about the use of technology in the classroom and learning.

Hello everyone!

As you can see from the picture that I upload, this week’s task is about Web 2.0 tools. In my task, I chose 4 favorite Web 2.0 tools of mine and now I tried to explain them and their functions to you guys with the help of the infographic that I create.

An infographic means an information graphic which is in the image form to make it more understandable to readers.This graphic explains the information in fast and brief way.

In my infographic I divide the page to 4 columns and I use each column to explain each one of the 4 Web 2.0 tools that I chose. These tools are Gliffy, Edutools, Schooltools and ThinkFree. These are my favorite Web 2.0 tools that I believe they are very beneficial to teachers who use them in classes.

Hello everyone to who read this on my blog!

Today me and my friend Merve prepare a poster about the fashion in the magazine cover form.

In task, we use a website that enables us to design an online magazine cover. We decided our topic as fashion because we both are into the fashion. Then we decided our sayings that we want to write on the picture and we add them into the cover picture.

I would definitely give this kind of task to ny students in future because I believe that this kind of task enhance their creativity.

Hi everyone!

Today’s task is storytelling. For me it’s very enjoyable and inspiring task to do. I enjoy doing this task because I work with my friend and talking about our friendship which means a lot to me.

While creating this video we did not have any difficulties. I think it’s an easy task to do. We used iMovie application to creative this video. In iMovie application first we gathered our pictures and then we add music and we write a post about our friendship and how it started. Then we recorded our voices in the slides.

I think it’s an enjoyable task for students. This means I definitely give similar tasks to my students in the future.

This week I am going to talk about websites. A website is a collection of publicly accessible interlinked webpages that share just a single domain name. (Techopedia,2013) Especially in educational area websites can be really helpful for teachers as well as students. In today’s world which is called technology area being able to connect the internet with the students is so important and necessary. For this reason almost all teachers use websites for their own lessons to help them in and out of the classroom.

For this week I decided to choose to evaluate a website whose name is Onestopenglish. It is created by Macmillan Academy and it serves a great number of resources for ELT teachers. It has a number of free and paid resources for ELT teachers . Teachers really like this site because they use authentic articles from the newspaper and it usually focuses on tropical stories. Onestopenglish is a teaching resource site, part of Macmillan Education, one of the first leading publishers of English language teaching materials.

The outhors of this site are not individual people but a community which is called Macmillan Education as I mentioned before.

The website consists of different resources for English teachers which are written and edited by an expert team of teachers and outhors. The members of this site has the oppurtinity to subscribe and to be able to use all the premium features.

The target audience of this website are children , teenagers, adults or business executives. It serves or EFL, ESL teaching materials.

The purpose of this website is to teach English to learners with so many so many resources and make them easy to acces for teachers to find sources related to their subject.

There is a flashcard which located at the top of the site and it shows latest update in the site which I find very logical.

There is no error as I observe. Everything is well formed in the whole site.There is no broken link,either. Pictures are in high quality as you can see from the images that I add.

I think it is a good and inspirational example of ELT websites and I recommend for you guys to use it. You can subscribe it if you pay the fee. It is really useful for both teachers and students.

Hi everyone to who read this

Today I want to talk about my experience on site which we use for today’s task, Padlet. In Padlet, me and my group friends decided to do some research on Global Change. Global Change is one of the biggest problems of our era and for we want to point out this serious issue we create a padlet that will inform you about this. From ancient times today the world has a change always. This changes occur because of many effects and sometimes this changes can cause some problems. This is a real phenomena and heat is going up in the world for decades.

We, as a group, divided this subject into categories such as definition, cause and effects and then everyone make the reasearch by themselves. While some of us conducting the information,others tried to find some multimedia. In the end we combined our results in padlet. It was easy to use. I find it very inspritional. Padlet helps us combine our research results without even coming together just by using the internet. I like this function most. Probably so do my group friends.

This project contributes 21st century learning skills in terms of collaboration. In this project we worked as a group and this means we collaborate our knowledge.It is also productive and it enhances our social skills.

Today, I want to talk about Wiki and give you guys some informations about it. Are you familiar with the Wiki? Do you know what can you do with this useful tool?

Wiki is an application tool that enables users either create a new page or edit the pages which are already written. It also enables them connect the pages each other.People can create huge documentation and they can follow the changes between this sites thanks to its diff function. Reaching data with wiki is so easy and enjoyable.

I wrote my book review on The Alchemist by Paoulo Coelho. It was really inspiring and impressive that I hope you enjoy it.

Hi,everyone!

Today, i am writing about my thoughts on teaching with thecnology issue. I think that while the century that we are born into is called thecnology era how can we ignore the important role of thecnology in such an important area which is education or avoid from it?

Today, thecnology has become one of the major things in our lives. From medicine to daily life, thecnology is like everywhere. None of us can remember of those years when thecnology was not common at all. So, the importance of it makes it difficult to not to bear in such an important area that is education.

In today’s world, we use thecnology in our classes. It is pretty advantageous for today’s students because I think they had the chance of accessing the any information they want in the minute they think they need to know about it. Maybe this make them lazy which is I think one of the disadvantageous of thecnology. But despite all of its advantageous, we can say that it makes learning process easier in terms of reaching the knowledge.

I view myself as a teacher candidate in 21st century, I know that I should be able to use thecnology and internet very well. In order to make my students’ learning process facialeted and in a creative way. I am aware of the fact that I need to use all of the thecnology tools effectively. I am absolutely planning integrate it into my teaching because otherwise it would be so meaningless in contrast to the century that we are living in.

I really like podcasting. It lets me to use my creavity which i like the most. I think it is very enjoyable and i do not find it difficult. It is pretty easy to use it. Computers are one of the trendy things in our century. We know that CALL has changed through the history. As the technology became more common and accessible, CALL has gone under many changes. It has many stages. It started with the time computers have entered the field of language teaching and then in 1970s laboraties were established. In the 1990s internet has reshaped the use of computers. In 2000s CALL software became more avaliable. Finally, CALL has achieved the recognation it deserves.

In the century we have been living, technology plays a vital role for us especially in our learning system. As it became as a part of our lives, it also has a huge impact in educational area. Todays learning system is learner-centered. It consist of tasks and activities that needs to be done by doer which means active learner.
