designed by studio farris, the recently completed ‘park tower’ in belgium now stands as one of antwerp’s tallest buildings. situated in close proximity to the historic town center, as well as the region’s harbor district, the structure’s striking exterior serves as a landmark gateway to the city.

climbing to a total height of 78 meters, the project’s primary objective was to maximize internal flexibility, allowing the building to host a range of different functions over future years. today, the tower hosts commercial spaces on the ground floor and 360 living units above. offering studios and apartments in different sizes, the scheme responds to today’s growing need for comfortable living space for a diverse range of age groups.

each unit has its own private terrace, protected from strong gusts of wind. throughout the design, glass panels have been positioned reduce wind discomfort and reduce the effects of vertigo. consequently, a playful, layered façade has been established that creates a intriguing dynamic of constantly changing light and shadow.
