EXHIBITION // November 2018
Gentle a Path will be on display at Praxis Artspace from 1st-15th November.
Gentle A Path is an exhibition of photographic, sound and video work exploring the humble gestures of the Ngangkiparingka/Onkaparinga River. The artwork stems from observing and contemplating the quiet fluidity of the river in its passage over the land; the elements of earth and water are seamlessly balancing and equally compromising to allow for the continuous existence of the other.
This is a re-showing of a selection of artwork from my recent exhibition Land's Edge. The artwork was created over a period of 3 months during the Sauerbier House Residency thanks to the City of Onkaparinga. COASTAL ECHOES by Christopher Williams + Therese Williams will be showing in the main gallery space at Praxis
GALLERY HOURS Wednesday to Saturday 11.00am- 4.00pm LOCATION 68-72 Gibson Street Bowden, Adelaide

I travelld to Japan in late March to undertake a one month artist residency at the Artist in Residence Yamanashi. I also travelled for a few weeks on either side of the residency. It was a wonderful experience, challenging but rewarding. During my residency I created some watercolour paintings that were exhibited at a local space in Kofu City.
Big thanks to Arts South Australia who funded the project through there Independent Makers and Presenters Grant.
I will be holding a small exhibition in Adelaide at FELTspace galley in July to exhibit some experimental installation work inspired by my time in Japan.

SOLO EXHIBITION // June 2017
Under our feet there is a fine dance underway between the elements, an ancient dance of pushing, pulling, morphing and forming. During the blink of our existence the landscape might shift in the slightest manner that it goes unnoticed to us but there are shifts and these shifts accumulate to create a river of motion and change in the surface of this planet. A Shifting Stillness is an ode to the changing nature of the Earth. Working with photographic film in the unassuming box brownie camera Alice Blanch explores ideas of connection and the sublime within the landscape. Alice undertakes strenuous journeys on foot for days at a time in search of things greater than herself and uses her artwork to translate these experiences. exhibition opening // Friday 16th June, 6-9pm All Welcome!
