its so insane to me how people will maintain the perspective that occupying armies have to fight by carpet bombing villages and refugee camps because theyre dealing with an enemy that blends in with civilian populations and not realize or refuse to admit thats because theyre fighting civilians who are forced to take up arms against an occupying power

The name pairings in Twilight are so fascinating and I can't help but wonder how much of it was intentional vs coincidence vs subconscious. Tend to think mostly coincidence with a dose of subconscious though. SM isn't exactly subtle when she makes references.
For example, Demetri and Felix. The two most famous conspirators in the murder of Rasputin were Grand Duke Dmitri and Prince Felix Yusupov. Did she know that? Did she do this intentionally? Or when she was naming them did she have this history trivia in the back of her head somewhere and was just like "these names sounds like they go together for some reason."
Then there's Jacob and Leah (and Rachel, one of Jacob's sisters). There's a bible story where Jacob wanted to marry a woman named Rachel but was tricked into marrying her sister Leah first and had to wait to marry Rachel. You'd have to assume she'd know this bible story.
Nahuel and Renesmee. Renesmee's nickname is Nessie, which she shares with the Loch Ness Monster. There's a lake monster called Nahuelito who supposedly lives in Nahuel Huapi Lake in Argentina. So the two hybrids we actually meet in the story both share names with water monsters.
The most baffling to me, and I can't remember who first pointed this point, is Claire and Quil. Because there's a character in Lolita named Clare Quilty. She has Quil imprint on a two-year-old and then their names together sound like a pedophile character from Lolita. What the hell happened there?! Presumably 'Quil' comes from 'Quileute' but pairing it with 'Claire' is a really unsettling coincidence given the whole imprinting thing.

This is how I think Renesmee looks like, and I don't mean it as a eewww stinky demon doll baby.
I think she would look like a literal doll, porcelain skin but with the little blush and rosy lips, unusual eye color, healthy hair and precious curls. And the way Rosalie (yes, Rosalie not Bella) dresses her wouldn't help with her blending in with a normal human child.
I think most people go for the horrible looking puppet on Twilight that they kinda forget how she's supposed to look like.
And yes, I got my interpretation from the Illustrated guide.
I don't care about Renesmee enough to hate her, she's a little creepy and I love that honestly, you go demon baby! terrorize everyone around you, girl!

hey reminder to continue boycotting eurovision and instead turn your eyes on gaza where the last media outlet al jazeera has just been shut down so that Israel can launch its attack on the most densely populated area in the world without scrutiny. Dont stop talking about Palestine
