instead of jason being damian’s protector in the league can we just have them being feral best friends. partners in crime. co-workers.

i want damian to be in gotham telling funny stories and fond memories from his childhood and league days, and every single story contains his ‘partner, hood’, because apparently he and another one of the trainees got along so well and worked so well together that Talia made them an official assassination duo, so they would always train and go on missions together, and they would just absolutely fuck shit up constantly.

and in the batfams heads this hood guy is like, another kid. like damian’s age, maybe a year or two older because damian keeps mentioning how paternal hood can get. and then the fucking Red Hood shows up, over six ft and 200 pounds of pure murderous monster muscle, and damian’s like ‘there’s my partner there! hi hood!’ and they wave at each other across the rooftops and the entire family just fuckin. bluescreen.

dick: so was your friend younger than you?

damian: i mean it depends on how you count his age. he recently restarted, you see, so logistically we don’t quite know where that puts him.

dick: what

damian: hood, he’s in gotham for a few days and wants to meet up!

Honestly, the relationship between Dick, Barbara and Jason should be explored more both in comics and fanfics. Like they're the OG batfamily - the people who knew the before-everything-went-downwards.

I LOVE the relationship with Jason and his other siblings but tbh they're strangers to Jason, the Bruce that Jason knew and the Bruce that the other younger siblings know/knew is different.

not to shit on zack snyder again but it's really funny that he tried to make a big, grand, complex moral quandary on where superman should stand when he saves people around the world and then james gunn is like "he wants to do it because he thinks it's the right thing to do". sometimes going simpler means you get to the crux of what the character is all about much more efficiently. like wow it's really that easy

can you imagine Damian getting upset enough to fight someone on patrol and Jason just picks him up by the hood and makes him face the other direction and it just surprises him so much that he can't even be mad any more?? like he just gives a confused glare at Jason and moves on

THIS IS ACTUALLY SO FUNNY it goes along with my headcanon that jason is the one person in the family that can smack damian upside the head without consequence. jason gets big brother privileges of manoeuvring damian around like a wind-up truck and damian's just like ok i guess im facing this direction now and keeps going. it probably stems from the intense trust that damian knows jason won't ever turn him wrong and so if jason turns him to face a different direction it's probably for a reason and he's learnt to just go with it, but it has the unintended side effect of making damian look like a slightly blank-minded toddler and it's fucking hysterical everytime the bats get to witness it.

now that i’m really on a roll talking fanon vs canon let’s talk about canon cass because she’s actually so much more fun than fanon cass

fanon cass:

-only uses sign language

-the emotionally intelligent one

-good listener

-always in hong kong

-feels only hate towards lady shiva

canon cass:

-has been able to talk for years and can’t sign

-loves food and reading (canonically a poe fan)

-so bad at dealing with emotions that she hallucinates her best friend to act as her conscience on the reg

-loves making jokes

-feelings towards shiva cannot be accurately explained in this post, i’d have to write a 10-page essay
