Curator, Pastasciutta Antifascista. Anti-nationalistic culinary experiments
Tumblr media
July 13, 2024, Venice.
Together with Tocia! Cucina e Comunità, I curated and organized the first Pastasciutta Antifascista (Antifascist Pastasciutta) in Venice, in collaboration with Palestra Popolare Zenobia in Campo Junghans, Giudecca.
Commemorating the historic "Pastasciutta Antifascista" of the Antifascist Cervi Brothers, we reinterpreted the traditional dish, highlighting the migrations, cultural exchanges, inspirations, and contaminations that have shaped Italian cuisine. Alberto Grandi and Daniele Soffiati presented "La cucina italiana non esiste. Bugie e falsi miti sui prodotti italiani cosiddetti tipici" (Mondadori, 2023), followed by a concert by Moulaye Peace Trio and a free pasta dinner open to all.
In collaboration with Palestra Popolare Zenobia and Libreria MarcoPolo, with the patronage of ANPI Venezia - Sezione 7 Martiri, Istituto Cervi, and Istituto Veneziano per la Storia della Resistenza e della Società Contemporanea (IVESER).

Education Department, The Milk of Dreams, La Biennale di Venezia
Tumblr media
1-27 November, 2022, Venice, IT.
I worked in the Educational Department of Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia as an educator and tour guide for the 59th International Art Exhibition The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Alemani.
The Milk of Dreams takes its title from a book by Leonora Carrington (1917–2011) – Cecilia Alemani stated – in which the Surrealist artist describes a magical world where life is constantly re-envisioned through the prism of the imagination. It is a world where everyone can change, be transformed, become something or someone else. The Exhibition The Milk of Dreams takes Leonora Carrington’s otherworldly creatures, along with other figures of transformation, as companions on an imaginary journey through the metamorphoses of bodies and definitions of the human.

Curator, 'Nowtilus. Stories from an Urban Lagoon in the 21st Century' (Podcast)
Tumblr media
Nowtilus. Stories from an urban lagoon in the 21st century is a research podcast, a polyphonic archive of stories, notes, and themes relating to rethinking Venice today, dispelling myths about the city, and placing the lagoon back at the center of attention.
Nowtilus leads listeners on a journey of discovery and discussion, addressing the lagoon’s sustainability, and the creative and life-affirming activities that its inhabitants carry out every day to keep it alive and extraordinary. Venice is a meeting place for cultures, an aquatic crossroads of knowledges, and a mixture of flavors and outlooks. An invitation to reflect on inclusion, the notion that sustainability can only be achieved through mutual respect between human and non-human lifeforms, and the fact that the city itself, the Queen of the Adriatic, is the result of migrations, exchanges, encounters, connections, and defenses.
Nowtilus. Stories from an urban lagoon in the 21st century is available on Ocean-Archive.org and on TBA21–Academy Radio on SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Podcast and Google Podcast. In Italian only, apart from episode 2.8 (in English).
Episodes narrated and curated by Alice Ongaro Sartori and Enrico Bettinello.
Music from Christian Fennesz (Season I) and Enrico Coniglio (Season I & II).

Co-curator, MICROCLIMA
Tumblr media
2016-2023, Serra dei Giardini, Venice, IT.
Since 2016 I have co-curated, coordinated, and produced projects and exhibitions of MICROCLIMA, a cultural project founded in 2011 by Paolo Rosso. MICROCLIMA is based at the Serra dei Giardini in Venice, but it also has branches in other cities in Italy, India, and Mongolia. MICROCLIMA was born with the purpose of giving a new social and creative life to a public orangery that had been abandoned for years and was the first structure ever created for the International Art Exhibition that began in 1895. Through experimental synergies and actions generated by professionals and amateurs of all kinds, Microclima seeks to stimulate the interest of the discovery, or rediscovery, of a delimited area and its social, symbolic and cultural aspects that characterize it as such.
MICROCLIMA curates multiple initiatives and projects also outside of Italy, such as The Guwahati Research Program, an artistic residency based in the capital city of Assam, India and RedHero, a long-term local and international project built around Mongolian arts and culture.
