Estuary...so peaceful and zen. This is just a portion of detail from this newly minted painting. Looks like she already found her forever home too . This color pallet soothes my soul. (at Hall Spassov Gallery)

Like the fluttering skirts of a passionate dancer...this piece has so much movement in it. I can hear the folksy fiddle as she spins to the music...that's why I had to name her "Gypsy Swing"! (at Hall Spassov Gallery)

Still basking in the magic of last night's opening reception. Thank you all for coming out for the Luminous show last night! It was a very special evening and so wonderful to connect with you. I wanted to share more photos of the night but I was fully engaged in conversation for the whole time and didn't get any good images on my phone until afterwards. So here's a little photo review after hours through the window. Feeling much love and gratitude ❤️💕🙏🏼 (at Hall Spassov Gallery)

All dressed up and ready for the red carpet ... this is one of my personal favorites in the Luminous show. As I was painting her the colors and forms reminded me of fabric billowing like the skirt of a ball gown. So naturally I named her "Taffeta"... and it's Prom Night for her tomorrow evening at the @hallspassov Gallery. Opening reception tomorrow night for First Friday in Bellevue. I'll be there from 5 to 8 if you want to come by! (at Hall Spassov Gallery)

Gathering up this new series of work and saying my goodbyes before it all gets delivered to the gallery this week. There's an unusual transformation that happens once the work leaves the studio and is free from the visual clutter of my workspace. Each piece becomes a living and unique entity that has to make its own way in the world. I can't wait to see it all installed at the beautiful @hallspassov Gallery. Luminous opens this Friday. Come see it with me! (at Inscape Arts)

Entomological ( that's one big fancy word... but it's appropriate)... Anyway ...insect influences are happening with this latest series of florals. I can't decide if they look like creatures or plant life but I love that they resemble both. Wild Abandon seems like a good potential title for this particular botanical .I'm loving her delicate color palette too... a little softer than my usual colors. Tending to my garden today as I wrap up work for my show. (at Inscape Arts)

Elegant flow...drifting to the surface. Trying hard not to overwork this piece ...want to keep it calm and simple. But ...there is always a risk with encaustic and every time I glance the surface with my blowtorch the image shifts and changes so we'll see how this evolves. She's almost there. Surfs Up! Propping up some large panels in the studio and thought these pieces would make some interesting surfboard art. I did work with a snowboard company a few years ago on a design for GNU that turned out pretty well. ...these pieces are meant to be horizontal but I'm loving them as vertical designs and could hang ten 🏄 on one of these. In the final stretch now of finishing up for the "Luminous" show so things are getting cozy in the studio. (at Inscape Arts)

Warming things up in the studio today. There's been really nice cloud cover in my Seattle sky all morning. It's creating beautifully diffused light... making for the perfect painting conditions. I'm experimenting with a very defined vanishing point in these large abstracted landscapes that I've been working on. While most of my landscapes do have a very distant obscured vista these are becoming much more defined and deliberate. I've always been intrigued by the illusion of infinity and that's what I'm trying to paint now...so far it's eluded me but I'm gonna keep trying. (at Inscape Arts)

Something wild ...this way comes...Deep and rusty oranges ...faded yellows and intense rich reds. Golden ...smokey... crisp this is why I love fall. The colors...the smells. But if it were up to me I would allow summer to linger for a few more months. But autumn brings with her such treasures ...amazing colors ...wonderful earthy smells of crushed leaves and wood smoke. So we bid a sweet farewell to you Summer and embrace the arrival of Autumn and her earthly delights. (at Seattle, Washington)

True alchemy in action..I'm collaborating with glass artist John Hogan on a series of custom vessels. These will house my large-scale specimen sculptures that will be on display alongside a new series of encaustic paintings. The show opens next month at Hall / Spassov Gallery . More deets to come... @hallspassov @johnthogan (at Seattle, Washington)

I can't take my eyes off of this piece ....what you're looking at here is sculpted wax that is submerged in water. The form is reflecting against the surface of the water and creating a mirror effect . Currently experimenting with different fluids for this project ...I'm working with glycerin, water, alcohol and exploring resin for a more permanent solution. It all feels so magical and science fiction. And the best part is ...this is my day job! Yes ...I am pinching myself! (at Inscape Arts)
