alright here we go
this one's for "stupid" mentally disabled people. people who can't do basic math. people who are gullible to no fault of their own. people who can't understand nuance in some situations. people with cognitive issues. intellectually disabled people.
hey, you're doin' just fine. doing a great job, even! don't put yourself down or feel like your worth as a person rests on how smart you are. we'll be ok

Tumblr: Only neurotypical people do X. Neurodivergent people never do X. It's literally never necessary to do X, and if you do, you are by definition acting out of malice.
Neurodivergent person whose neurodivergence primarily expresses itself as X:

"All autistics have low empathy" - This statement is wrong.
"Autistics having low empathy is a MYTH, we actually have HIGH empathy!" - This statement is ALSO wrong.
Autistics can have low empathy, they can have high empathy, they can have learned empathy. The myth would be that all autistics only experience one end of the empathy spectrum.
In spreading around misinformation that autistics actually have high empathy, you are disregarding the autistics who do have low empathy. And vice versa.

Random ass question, but my blog name should explain why.
What the hell is the social definition of a friend??
Why are they so difficult to find? What is one?? Please... I don't understand this. Is it just someone you talk to? Is going out a requirement? I don't feel emotions due to alexithymia, so am I supposed to hold an emotion towards a person in order for them to be a friend???
What is this?!

adhd culture is having 57 pinterest boards with 139 pins each because you cycled through your hyperfixations and now just the remnants are left in the wake of your dopamine.

in all seriousness it's very alienating knowing theres Something Wrong With You. like seeing your mental illness come through in your behaviour and thought processes and knowing it's irrational and unhealthy, knowing other people are reading you as weird or stupid, and not being able to do anything about it is such a lonely experience

Saw a post/poll about aphantasia and this genuinely confuses me because like...
If you ask me "can you picture an apple in your mind", the answer is not really. Like...I can see one vaguely somewhere in the back of my brain.
However, I also read books and get so lost in them that I've genuinely felt like I've watched a movie.
I'm so confused about these things.

I'm not sure if it's a rash of silent migraines or what, but I've been having a hell of a time writing this past month. Whether it's actually figuring out what I'm trying to say or just basic spelling and grammar, it feels like I'm dragging myself uphill both ways through the snow.
It's been bad verbally, too. Like yesterday, we were out at a family gathering for Easter, and I felt myself blue-screen several times as my brain just dumped the cache for whatever the conversation was about while mid-conversation.

The neurodivergent bitterness of having to be all diplomatic and gentle like
"yes I understand and appreciate you had good intentions however that change was not one I was prepared for and it gave me anxiety and panic which is why I lashes out in hostility. I understand it's not a big deal to you but it is to me"
and they still get angry and you have to remain calm and diplomatic even though you want to shout
"hey I'm sorry that I may have hurt your feelings but I still don't think I am the one in the wrong here."
