The Birth of Venus

I was reading the Finnish version of TG volume 13 the other day, and noticed that behind Big Madam, there is an interesting and familiar looking painting. Lately I have been studying film analysis and reading stuff about the usage of paintings and pictures overall in historical research, so I though it would be fun to try and decode, if the painting might have some connecting points to the scene where it´s present.
The painting behind Big Madam is something most folks have probably seen at some point. It´s The Birth of Venus made by Sandro Boticelli around 1480s.

It portrays the birth of goddess Venus. The Roman goddess Venus was the goddess of beauty, sex, prosperity and variety of other things. As most of us are aware, the Romans adapted myths and iconography from Ancient Greeks, and Venus Greek counter part would be Aphrodite. Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love, beauty and etc…
Big Madam seems to be a person who is very interested in beauty. She probably tries to make herself look beautiful, and this applies to the people around her. So it is fitting in my opinion that she has the painting of a goddess of beauty behind her.
Now, since the painting is abut the birth of Venus, I have been thinking of another meaning. I am probably entering into a shaky ground when it comes to this, but I want to present this idea. You see, Big Madam is very fond on Juuzou`s cute outlook that she created for him. But she worries that as Juuzou grows up, this will begin to vanish.

There are a few ideas and stories that tell how Aphrodite was born. In the context of this scene in TG, the birth story I am most curious about is told by Hesiod. According to Hesiod Aphrodite was born from foam. This foam was produced from Uranus genitals, which his son Cronus had severed and thrown to the sea.
The plan which Big Madam thinks will preserve Juuzou`s cute and beautiful form is crush his private parts.

So according to one story, the goddess of beauty was born from a foam generated by Uranus genitals. Big Madam thinks she can “preserve” Juuzou`s “snow white skin” and “crystal eyes” by crushing his private parts. I guess you could say that Big Madam wanted to produce something beautiful in that moment.
To conclude I think the painting portraying Venus birth could be linked to how Big Madam tried to create a Juuzou who would keep his beauty forever. I think similarity might be found from one of the birth stories of the goddess of beauty, and the manner how Big Madam tries to create and preserve the beauty she sees in Juuzou.
However maybe the use of the painting in that scene is more about telling to the readers that Big Madam is a person who is very interested in beauty. So it would make sense that in her bombastic chambers there would be a painting portraying the goddess of beauty.
