DECEMBER 31 Hey guys! It’s New Year’s Eve! And our last post! That I am actually quite happy about 😅 Well this morning we woke up and did some laundry, I baked a cake, we watched the Christmas Devotional and then went to the third hour of church. Once we got home we hung out for a minute and then went to Bountiful where I finished my gf ding dong cake. We then headed down to Fennemore’s where I read my book. I want to finish it because it’s my last one for the year! It’s called Nightfall and it’s soooo good!! We then all headed over the the Hanks where we had some very good and very unhealthy food 😋 After eating we sat around and talked and then I slipped away upstairs to finish my book. I did eventually finish it and then joined everyone downstairs for a game. It was super fun and Abe was really getting into it. Later we went to my parents to hang out. We had cake, Spence, my dad and I jammed and then we came upstairs and watched some TV. It was a fun night but I was zonked because we got to be so late 👵🏼 Well folks, this is the end. Future children, I hope you enjoyed reading about your parents first year of marriage (give or take a month) and know how much we love each other. Marriage can be tough but it’s by far the best thing we’ve ever done ❤️

DECEMBER 30 Today was a VERY productive day. We woke up, took down all of our Christmas decorations, went through and D.Ied a bunch of stuff and DEEP cleaned the whole place. It felt soooo nice once it was all finished! We then showered and got ready and then went to Orlando’s for dinner with my family. Once we got back the Fennemore’s came up and we played Smart A** for a few hours. It was a ton of fun! Spenny and I then went home and called it a night.

DECEMBER 29 Well it was another day of work... luckily though the day cruised on by and I was able to get A TON of stuff done. After work Spenny and I came home and just hung out. It was super nice because this month has been bananas and Spenny and I really haven’t had any quality time. We took Normy on a night time stroll, grabbed some ice cream and food at Iceburg and then I made Spenny sit through all of La La Land with me while I balled my eyes out. That montage at the end gets me every. Time. 😭 It really was a gr8 nite.

DECEMBER 28 Another day, another dollar, right? At work today I listened to songs from the Guardians of the Galaxy playlists, Stevie Wonder, and a Russian history podcast. I finally finished inspecting all of the surgical blades (almost 8,000 😳) and helped out Courtney and Nate with some other stuff. Lots of people took the whole week off, including people at Ali’s work. We went out to Bountiful and ate dinner at the Fennemore’s, then we went up to the Cottle’s and finished Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

DECEMBER 27 We went back to our jobs today and couldn’t be happier. We were both pretty busy, but it helped the work day go by faster. It’s been a really good year with both of our jobs. People have been very nice, helpful, and generous. I hope I can stay with Integra during next semester. After work, I got home and saw that the neighbors had spoiled Norman once again. They love him and they are all so nice to him. We didn’t have a YM activity tonight, but we went to the YW night of excellence and had a good time. We went home and watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2 with our favorite doodle.

DECEMBER 26

And just like that, Christmas cake and went. Ali and I woke up and went on a walk with Norman. Everyone was up really late, and when we left everyone was still sleeping. By the time we got back from the walk everyone was ready to go to Fashion Place and do some shopping/returns. Ali and I both agree that the Day after Christmas is a ridiculous day to do any shopping, but it was still fun hanging with McCall and Alonso. We went to Sawadee for lunch and it was delicious as always. We’re hoping we can convince the Vargases to move back to Utah. They left back for California around 6 and we gathered up Christmas stuff at the Cottle’s and went back to Windsor to sleep in our own bed.

DECEMBER 25 MERRY CHRISTMAS ERRRRYY ONE!! Oh man I love Christmas and guess what? It was a white one!! We slept at Fennemore’s and did Christmas morning with them and man oh man did we get spoiled. Spenny and I were wide awake around 5 and were supposed when we learned it was so early 😅 we couldn’t really fall back asleep but we tried! Anyways, when everyone finally woke up Spenny and I take care of Normy and let him out. He went BONKERS because there was a ton of fresh snow. It was the best gift he could’ve received. We helped Angie start a fire and then we all looked at our goods! Spenny gave me some bomb dot com books and sheet music (La La Land!!) and I have him so clothes, sheet music and Mat Kearney concert tickets. Angie spoiled us with clothes, camping stuff and some amazing paintings of Norman and Squishy. Later in the day we went up to my parents house and celebrated with them. Of course my family spoiled us and Spenny absolutely spoiled me with books, Harry Potter merch and a new fit bit watch! He’s the absolute best and I adore him with my whole heart. We had a wonderful Christmas dinner (my favorite) and then hung out the rest of the night. We tried to play The Logo Game but it was after midnight and we were all zapped. IT WAS THE BEST CHRISTMAS YET!!

DECEMBER 24 YAY! Christmas Eve! We hung out in the morning and had a chill ❄️ time and then around 3 we went up to my grandma Dixie’s for our annual Christmas Eve bash. It was a good time. Everyone was there and we ate, played the white elephant game (I got the Logo game), we jammed on the organ, piano and accordion and then eventually went out to the Hilton’s for their annual Christmas Eve party. We chatted and hung out for a while and the went back to the Fennemore’s where we hung out, talked, watched YouTube videos, read Christmas stories and called it a night. Oh! And we got a massively wonderful snowstorm!

DECEMBER 23 It’s Christmas Eve Eve! I woke up and went to the store to get stocking stuffers. I then wrapped everything up. I then showered and got ready and we went to our apartment to grab stuff while the rest of my fam went to see dad’s houses and check out Park City. We hung out at the Fennemore’s, had some dinner and then went back up to my parents house where Spence and I read and my family watched Christmas Vacation.

DECEMBER 22 Hallelujah for half-days. We both got off around noon and went to Cubby’s for lunch with McClonso and the Cottle fam. Cubby’s is SO good 😋 😋 😋 We split up afterwards and took care of some Christmas things. We hung around City Creek and ran into Cannon and Kels too #gang’sallhere #notreallythough. We didn’t want to deal with a 5.5 hour wait for Cheesecake Factory, so we went to the Costa Vida in Bountiful instead. We’re sleeping over at the Cottle’s over the next few days so we’ll see if how much sleep we’ll get.

DECEMBER 21

Tonight was so fun! We go together with Jayne, Taylor, and Morgan at the Mellow Mushroom and had a riot. Jayne was really sweet and gave us some cinnamon Chex mix. Morgan got a “Kayak” calzone, we got some gf pizza, and the others shared a funky-q chicken pizza. Ali hopes something will happen with Jayne and Morgan because they’re both dear friends and both very funny, but we’ll see what happens 😏 We also went to Cubby’s and I got Whoopie (Moon) Pies. They were super rich, just like us, and we finished the night by watching a New Gal.

DECEMBER 20

Not much is going on around the country. Here’s what’s happening in your neck is the woods. Today was pretty great. I didn’t have school and the mutual activity was pretty fun. The boys planned for a sec and played hide-n-seek for an hour. We had a few kids who don’t usually come, and I think they had a good time. Only a few YW showed up, so Ali and Mariana talked for their activity while the YW joined in the game.

DECEMBER 19

Five years ago today I left the MTC and hopped on a plane to Russia. Crazy! ‘Twas another day of work and work. We watched The Santa Clause 3, went to the store, and chilled the rest of the night.

DECEMBER 18 A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... There was a young padowan named Norman who dreamed of becoming a Jedi master #Normiamyourfather. I worked all day and Ali worked/went and saw the new Star Wars movie for work. Lucky, right?? Afterwards, we went out to Bountiful, I did some wrapping, and we went to In-N-Out Burger for dinner. We did a puzzle with Rooney, dealt with some sibling drama 😅 and watched part of The Santa Clause 2.

DECEMBER 17 Sunday was busy, but it was still very nice. I had meetings I needed to attend and Ali was able to spend time with Brooke and family. Ali and I had a stake meeting later on with Bella and Salem and they did a great job with planning stuff. We drove out to B-Town for dinner with the Fennemore’s. It was a feast and I gained 5 pounds. We went up to the Cottle’s later on and had fun jamming out and playing with the kiddos.

DECEMBER 16 What a day! I didn’t have any assignments to worry about, which was very, very odd. The Palmers got into town last night, so we pretty much woke up and drove out to Bountiful. Ali was in workout clothes and I looked like a post-finals college student 💀 We went to the Santa Symphony at Abravanel Hall and had a good time with the kids :) We went to lunch at the downtown Este Pizza, drove home with Big Al and drove back out to our humble abode to get ready for the party of the year aka Bette Spaghetti’s Christmas Bash. We had dinner at Chili’s and had fun chatting with the Utter fam. We then drove out to Grandma Bette’s for a fun White Elephant gift game. I got a stuffed animal and Ali got a sweet shirt. We then ended the night by watching The Santa Clause 🎅
