I promise you I'd rather die than ask a man for help.

Set the bar high. You鈥檙e capable of living a life you鈥檙e proud of. Don鈥檛 give up now when you鈥檙e just getting started.

For some people, life doesn鈥檛 truly begin until they鈥檙e 26-30. The way we romanticize and obsess over youth is super harmful. Your life is not over at 21, I promise you. It鈥檚 just beginning

I used to think of myself as a victim of the people who sought to hurt me. When you're raised in a love filled home, you naturally project that out in your demeanor. Which can come off as a contradiction to those who have lived life in homes that reek of the afflictions they've faced.
Some people have had to play pretend in order to survive. And because they've gotten used to this facade that they live, they assume that other people have GOT to be keeping up the same facade as well. Which is why some people don't believe that genuine people exist. Because they aren't it nor have they ever experienced it.
Then these same people will make it their GOAL to "find out what THAT PERSON is hiding" because someone naturally maintaining loving qualities is foreign to them (so therefore it must be fake). So they'll constantly test you in an attempt to see if the genuine nature is real or not. Then when they find out that there are indeed people in this world who were not raised by the wolves, there's only 2 ways to handle it.
You can either choose to jump on the positivity train and get on the same wavelength, or you can choose to hate that person because they have something that you "don't have". Most people choose the latter because it's easier to hate someone than it is to put in the effort into changing your own life for the betterment of you and those you're surrounded by.
So yeah, genuine people will always find themselves being the single sheep surrounded by wolves looking for a meal. Because your kindness will always be taken as a weakness by those who were raised scavenging for meat.
Gotta take care of your own demons, so you're not sitting around projecting your unresolved childhood issues and your parent's shortcomings on every person who comes into contact with you now and in the future until the day you perish. That'd be a pretty miserable way to exist in my personal opinion. We often victimize ourselves into taking the easy way out.
Deep thoughts while watching The Lion King.
