Eli: absolutely. give me about fifteen minutes and i'll be there. prepare urself for the best midnight mac and cheese you've ever had~

Ally: it really does pain me to say it

Ally: when you get here

Ally: i just don't want to be alone right now

imagine a modern Artemis, her clothes smudged with dirt and blood.  Hair the color of deep earth, intertwined with bones and leaves.  She isn’t pretty.  She doesn’t have to be.  She’s beautiful, terrifying, and doesn’t care what you think.

Imagine a modern Artemis who gave up her bow a century ago.  She carries guns now.  Two strapped to her side, another across her back.  Her forests are various battlefields.  She fights side by side with the female soldiers.  War is her sister’s domain, but Athena doesn’t mind.  

Imagine a modern Artemis running an animal shelter.  She protects all sort of beasts.  Her workers are all women that she found:  abused, homeless, alone.  She protects them now - she teaches them how to protect themselves.  They call themselves the huntresses. 

Imagine a modern Artemis walking in hand in hand with her brother.  They walk through LGBT youth centers.  They walk the streets in search of runaway youths.  Artemis stops to talk to trans youths, young lesbians, and bisexual girls.  “You are valid,” She says, “you are worthy.” 

Imagine a modern Artemis, walking by the full moon’s light.  She sees a man attempt to force himself on a young girl.  She readies her gun and fires.  It hits him in the stomach; he’ll die slowly.  She smiles to herself as the girl escapes.  

In the old days, Artemis used to hunt legendary beasts.  Now She kills a different kind of monster.

She stopped as soon as she heard Alison’s voice “You would be surprised if you knew who I am picturing” She said with a smirk after turning around to face her “Fancy seeing you here, doll. Didn’t noticed when you arrived”

An eyebrow raised in curiosity, “Do tell.” Ally moved closer to her friend, placing a hand on the bag, “I wonder who’s gonna be in worse shape after this. This punching bag or you.” Sweat was starting to drip down her back. That seemed to be the only place she ever really did sweat. “I know. I usually do outside runs. I try to stay on the down low. Don’t want to shame anyone with my athleticism.” Her own eyes rolled at the comment. “What’s got you in such a mood?”

    “In terms of being realistic, I agree. However, in terms of source material I unfortunately can’t agree. There’s this weird, somewhat annoying loophole of sorts, when Batman is involved because each character has a weakness in some variety. Like Superman for example, realistically Batman shouldn’t stand a chance even against him but he knows his one weakness. It’s the same annoying basic principal argument the comics use for Batman vs. anyone really. Sure, he’s just a bitter rich dude trained by the League of Assassins but he’s ‘smart’ so of course he can figure out a way to beat anyone. I think they might aim for a moral there, that man alone is capable of just as much as any superhuman etc. could but that’s the way of comic books. Mostly of course written by white men, so who is shocked really?” Delilah rolled her eyes, taking a drink as well before shooting the guy a side eye. “A dumbed down translation is, Wonder Woman should be able to do her nails and rip him to shreds at the same time but people like you wouldn’t dream of accepting it.” 

“Gosh, it drives me insane that they give female superheroes ten times the power, and still they lose to the men. Realistically, man is no match for superhuman. It makes the scientist in my boil in anger.” Her head fell back in annoyance as she groaned audibly. “White men ruin everything for me.” She released a small laugh at that last bit. “Don’t worry,” Ally said, turning to the origin of the conversation, “You have to be stupid in order to learn.”

“ batman is a pretentious piece of shit. of course, she could beat him. “ then again, taren was convinced EVERYONE could beat batman. he turned his head to look at alison for a moment, knowing full well his next sentence would rile her. “ i find the part where she KILLS ares unbelievable. as you say, he’s a god. he wouldn’t let himself get killed by a mere half-god, amazon hybrid.  ”

“Well there’s one thing we can agree on.” Ally raised her beer slightly to him before taking another drink of it. Though still, she prepared for him to come out with another sentence that would make up for his first. Taren always seemed to find a way to push her buttons. Predictably, she rolled her eyes at what came out of his mouth next. “Now you’ve lost me. Ever the antagonist, aren’t you, Taren? Let himself? You’re thick.” She shrugged, “Ares is an arrogant prick who had it coming. You two have some things in common.”

josefine raised an eyebrow. batman was her favorite hero since she was just a little child, and she truly believed he could beat anyone in the dc universe. well, she might be biased. “ — i mean, in the tower of babel, batman clearly has a plan to take every member of the justice league down. every single one of them. so do i think he’s stronger than anyone? absolutely. do i think wonder woman is weak? hell no. she’s a real role model for every girl in the world.”

Leaning back in her chair, Ally had her thumb nail in her mouth, listening to the girl’s argument.When she was done, Ally took a moment of contemplation, sipping at her beer. “I’m not buying it,” she stated simply, raising an eyebrow. “Plans don’t always equal success. I know plenty of people who are examples of that. I mean, c’mon. Realistically? Wonder Woman overpowers Batman.”

“ oh, i don’t know what the closing time is either. i just hopped the gate to get in, ” she laughed, absently running her fingers through her hair, still sounding slightly more nervous than she had planned to. that was, at least, until the redhead caught sight of just who it was that had called out to her. “ but maybe that’s not the sort of thing i should be telling you. ” after all, she’d considered the brunette to be something like the sister she’d never had, a protective figure that she often wondered if she nearly drove crazy half the time. 

“Kind of pointless that parks even close in the first place.” Ally pushed herself up, dusting off her pants. Hearing the footsteps approaching, she craned her neck to get a look at who exactly she was talking to. The girl’s response made her grin a bit. “Didn’t peg you as the type to trespass, Josie. I might have to call in Scared Straight to get you on the right path again.”
