Ok hear this-

alternative au where Akis brother never died and they both joined the public safety division so it’s his little brother trying to get you and Aki together because of how obvious it is you guys like eachother (๑ó﹏ò๑)

i’m so sorry this took me so long to post :|

this is my new reality.. aki ‘nd his little brother living a happy + healthy (but chaotic) lifestyle..

i feel like taiyo would just see right thru both of you.

he notices how you blush whenever aki leans in to pull a cigarette from your lips

& has to stifle a giggle whenever his brother readjusts his tie before seeing you

(at least six times.)

you’re both just so damn oblivious it hurts.

and to maintain his honor of being the best younger brother in the world ™, taiyo has to fix this.

he starts by asking aki things as soon as you step out of the room

he’ll lean in all serious with a stupid notepad ‘nd sly smile like, “soo, aki... what do you think of y/n-san?”

“w-what?!” the older boy sputters, fumbling with the paperwork in his hands. “why would you ask that?”

he smooths out his tie, seems to gain some composure, then coughs awkwardly. “in what way? wait. forget i asked that. did she tell you to ask me that?”

“what’re you talking about?” a familiar voice interrupts just as aki pushes his flushed face into the tabletop. he never answered the question, but this response is more than enough.

“nothing!” taiyo chirps, scribbling down some nonsense. “just asking aki here what we’re going to have for dinner tonight. need to make a list for the store.”

you narrow your eyes suspiciously at the two brothers before taking your seat back next to aki, mentally deciding to stay away from whatever scheme taiyo’s planning now. it’s always better to not be involved.

next, though, it’s your turn to be interrogated.

taiyo figured it might be in his best interest to get further confirmation from his brother and y/n of what feelings are present before he truly and fully commits to his plan ;

the “GET-AKI-AND-Y/N-TO-KISS-RIGHT-NOW” plan (name courtesy of denji.)

“with my input,” denji points, “you’ll have them kissin’ in the next minute. with tongue.”

“don’t listen to him!” power groans, chucking a pillow in the blonde boys direction.

— aki, meanwhile, is out on some job,

and y/n is supposed to be over soon as to ease aki’s worries of something going severely wrong when the three of them are alone.

(taiyo used to take it as an insult

until y/n explained it was really just his big brother showing them how much he cared about them staying safe.)

when you show up, it’s game time.

“soo, y/n.” taiyo slides up next to you.

“soo, taiyo.” you grin, nudging his side.

“when are you going to tell my nii-san how you feel?”

your face goes completely red and blotchy before taiyo has to dodge an incoming punch,

(probably hard enough to break the wooden table sitting in their living room,)

and watches as you try to stutter your way through a lame excuse.

“fine.” you sigh, surrendering while you still have some dignity left. “i’m never going to tell him because he’ll never feel the same way.”

“huh?” taiyo. “the hell!” denji. “stupid!” power.

this was going to take a lot more fixing than taiyo thought. just how oblivious could you be?

“taiyo!” aki grunts, his lips way too close to your ear for your heart’s liking. “let us out of here now!”

“we can’t.” a familiar voice drawls while taiyo continues to laugh. “not until you touch some boobs, aki! resolve the tension, please!”

“we’re begging you!” power finishes, and you can almost picture the face of satisfaction she’s pulling.

“denji,” aki growls, and his warm breath is dancing across your neck and oh, yeah, that really isn’t good for the heart.

the small supply closet is meant to fit one person at most, so stuffing both aki and you inside proved to be difficult, but power and denji were nothing but stubborn when they wanted to be, and taiyo had to use that to his advantage.

“say what you feel, nii-san!” the younger boy shouts.

“what you feel?” you ask, tilting your head slightly as to get a better look at aki’s face. there’s a small, flickering glow from the lightbulb above.

“we shouldn’t be doing this.” he groans, ignoring the question in favor of kicking at the door. your body is mostly in the way though, so he doesn’t risk doing it any harder a second time. “we need to get back to work. break will be over soon.”

“please.” you say in a small voice, eyes scrunched shut as you force the words out. “just tell me how you feel, aki-san. maybe they’ll let us out afterward.”

“i,” aki starts, awkwardly placing his hands on the door by your hips. “i’m not sure if it’s professional to do this, y/n. taiyo is just up to one of his tricks again — ”

“fine. i’ll do it.” you cut him off, you’re not aki, but taiyo probably wants you to confess your feelings too. even if it means getting brutally rejected and told you’re better as partners than you ever could be as a couple.

“i like you. love you, probably,” you stutter, hands squeezing into fists. “and i’ve liked you ever since i was assigned to the same stupid branch, but if you don’t like me then tell me now because i’m pretty sure your little brother won’t just stop with this and it’s better that we get out of here soon rather than later and — ”

now you’re cut off... but by a kiss. it’s messy, and you’re pretty sure you’re kissing more of his cheek than his mouth because of the awkward angle he had to bend at — but it’s a kiss. from aki. and it’s perfect.

“oh.” you breathe.

“yeah.” aki smiles, taking the hand that was balancing on the door and wrapping it around your waist.

“they’ve gone quiet.” taiyo whispers from outside, “suspiciously quiet.”

“oi! did you two get it on in there?” denji yells, “wait — does this mean that aki’s been with a girl longer than i have?!”

“it also means that they finally confessed their feelings,” taiyo cuts in, “plan the GET-AKI-AND-Y/N-TO-KISS-RIGHT-NOW worked! we’re masterminds!”

“do we let them out now?” power questions, hanging off denji’s back.

there’s a moment of silence as taiyo reaches for the door handle, but then he’s interrupted by a weird, wet, popping sound that has him scrambling back. “ew! oh my god! the plan was for just kissing! nii-san! y/n?!”

• • •

you wait until you hear a bunch of tripping footsteps fading off before you speak, lifting your lips off the back of your hand where you just made the suspicious noise. “i think we may have scared them a little too much.”

“ah,” aki grins against your ear, “taiyo deserved it. although, i suppose we do have to thank them later for setting us up. properly.”

you feel his hair tickle the side of your cheek as he pushes back farther to line up your faces. “but let’s bask in this a bit longer.”

Aki Hayakawa x Reader - Friends to Lovers troupe

warnings: csm spoilers?, smoking and drinking

a/n: apologizing in advance for the absence in dialogue, this is my first time writing for Aki, any feedback is appreciated <3 - yami (also, since @aliteama suggested aki content and the friends to lovers troupe, this one's for you)

Your world of red was made cohesive to his blue aura. Life would soon gain meaning the day you were introduced to a new partner in Public Safety.

Invulnerable to the world of blood-stained grounds and devils, it was a burden to remove the roots he’d keep with others whose lives were taken. What Aki wasn’t aware of was the price for being involved was already paid; sanity. Every person taken by the devils roaming the core would discontinue a vein from your brain to your heart. No escape route in sight, the action was forced.

It wasn’t easy to get along with him, having different views and thought processes. It made the work and partnership difficult, two magnets repulsing. He was still new and saw a globe filled with faith in people. As time passed, it’d alter and he’d be on the same route as the others in the department. It happened after he’d make a contract with the Fox Devil.

Stiff and neutral toned phrases heard daily would change when it came to talks about family and people he considered important. A peeled layer would unveil the hardships and truths on why he acted the way he did. Shared tears regarding the way he felt would keep you together like two wet sheets of paper. The underlying cause of it were unacknowledged feelings you chose to bury and deem as the care for a friend; nothing more. Blues and reds were beginning to collide and cause a small line of purple, choosing to be blind to the feelings. You’d only cause yourself pain and despair if it kept going on, yet you weren't able to stop it.

The strings in your heart were pulled with every word that left his lips, finding a deeper attraction to him every time he spoke. Despite the hard mask he’d wear in public, you knew it was unscrewed when it was you two, adding intimacy to the simple act of a conversation. Like a devil, he’d be contracted with your heart. Every mention of him would rise your attention in the discussion you weren’t apart of. The broken organ within you would be bonded together with him.

Aki experienced the same thing; he’d notice through his care for you during a mission that put your lives on the line. His eyes tunneled on your figure rather than the actual danger in front of him. He wasn’t sure how to feel about it, never having a connection more than a working partner; you were a friend to him. Or so, he wished you were something else. Unfortunately, there was never a way for you to know or notice due to the overpowering view of his adoration for Makima. It wouldn’t stop your appreciation and tie to Aki, though.

Watching over each other’s backs was not only a work task, but now a normal thing. He’d rip the strings from routinely grave visits and realize to cherish the lives in front of him. A new mindset and view to life was sprouted. The normality of death and few people chained you two together as a reason to live. It made life more than just devils and reports in a tied down system you were a part of.

Subtle acts for one another would mean you two were a couple in the department’s eyes, meaning simple gestures to both of you. You’d be sure to have a spare cigarette in your case for him. Even Denji and Power meant something knowing he was involved in the trio. You’d go check up on them at his apartment and sometimes get drinks after missions to ease your burnout minds. The biggest takeaway would be the infinite support you had for the fiend,, Aki, on the gun devil. He wanted revenge, and if it meant he’d feel better for the lifeless bodies he was haunted by, you supported it.

Your relationship was growing with the movement of a brush, mixing together your two colors into one. It wasn’t fully blended into one another, yet. You’d invite him to your place weekly for a cigarette and talk at the view your apartment offered. There was a noticeable tension, not knowing what to do when you guys spent too long on your greeting hug. This time he’d wrap his arms around your waist. It was a different feeling, throat closing up when you let go and his arms remained where they were.

His pupils would roam everywhere but you after a long period of eye contact. Trying your best to move on but keep the acts going, you held his hand and walked him to your apartment balcony, a bottle of alcohol and case of cigarettes on the table with a small radio on the side. It’d play some simple 90’s smooth jazz with tall buildings that glowed yellow and white lights on some cubicles. You let him sit down and went back in to grab some glasses and try to vanish the visible color change on your cheeks.

He’d do the same, placing a cigarette on his lips to light and puff out the anxiousness in his body. Not wanting to keep him out and alone for long, you’d set back out. Your rebound would be the similar, but with thick glasses that clinked on the table and made your uniform tie hang out. He’d look the opposite direction, tapping away the ash from the stick between his fingers. You were too close to him to not be feeling his heart at his throat. Moving with ease, you sat on the opposite side of him, pouring your drinks and admiring the cold air to aid your overheated body. Despite going through this weekly, it was easily suspected that something was off.

You carried on your usual conversation, talking about the hardships faced on the missions you got sent out to. He spoke on something he overheard and considered important and about Denji and Power. Listening attentively, you would watch the way his lips moved. Wetness of lubrication from the liquor and his saliva was gleaming against them. You’d look away as soon as he moved his eyes to you, not knowing he already knew what you were doing. Trying to play it off, you’d move from his lips to the glass hanging from your fingers in a relaxed position. The roles would now switch, he was focused on the way they dispersed the smoke from the cigarette. You could literally feel his eyes on you, looking elsewhere to not make either of you embarrassed by the actions you knew you were doing.

The night winds grew more chilly, clock on Aki’s wrist reading 1:11AM and migrating over to the couch in your living room. You sat next to each other, items on the coffee table as you sat in the light that came from the other buildings. Your arm rested against the seat for balance, his own hand near. The room was so quiet that you could hear each other's breathing and sounds of your mouth. What could you even talk about? His presence was appreciated, but you weren’t sure what to say. Too caught up in your thoughts, you were late to react to the feeling of his pinky against yours, allowing the action. Your throat dried up and body reacted with heavier breaths at the sensitive touch of his fingers in the dark. Impulses took control when your hand acted like a tectonic plate and slid on top of his.

You couldn’t look at him, scared to know if he was into it or awkward and uncomfortable. He took the step for you, scooting over and moving his other hand to your face to adjust it at his view. Instinctively looking at his lips, you licked your own and grabbed his arm. With the soft light, you were able to make out the earrings decorating his ears and hair on his face, eyes on yours. His breaths were felt against your face, everything in sight blurry as he moved closer. Mimicking the action, your lips acted as a negative and positive charged objects. The feeling of two lips together: unexpectedly soft and sensitive.

Your saliva mixed, the same way your colors would finally blend and form a consistent purple.

It was a flower that finally bloomed; the sun had been unblocked and it sprung alive. Your minds were empty, only focused on the sensation and realization of this being a reality. Engulfed in each other’s scent with a heavy atmosphere, you pulled back. It was a mix of the natural high and nicotine, your eyelids felt dense and you craved the sensation again. Continuing to do so for another couple times, you pulled away finally and softly laughed at the relief in built-up tension previously felt. No words were needed to be exchanged, your bodies did so as you laid on the couch against him.

An unwanted boundary line had been crossed, only fusing you more than before at a comfortable level. In a way, you were each other’s devils: your hearts were exchanged by one another in a contract of love and care. Maybe sanity was achievable. Despite the dislike for the world you were tied to, Aki would be the only person to make it tolerable.

this idea has been marinating in my mind for a while and im pretty sure no one has done this yet (hopefully). i feel pretty excited for this so i hope this doesn't flop ^^; at first i wanted this to be a milestone event but then i decided against just bc uh, it's not very inclusive. ANYWAYS without further ado;;

prompt/idea: simply, the aftermath of the shibuya incident. the emotions, the healing process, the unfortunate surprises, and all of the sort.

this is an open collab!! so anyone is welcome to join, big or small blog. you dont have to be following me though it might be good idea if i have updates for the collab

Fools in Love

Quick litte something that I wrote before I take a nap before work. Enjoy!

It was nothing more than a simple gesture, but somehow it left you flustered with a flutter in your stomach.

Holding hands so you wouldn’t lose each other in the crowd, yet the feeling inside you made it felt like you were holding onto sunshine. You wondered if the clamminess came from your nerves or the warmth of their hand.

You were a fool in love, clinging onto the hand on the one you loved. Their obliviousness only made your feelings seem more foolish.

It felt as if your beating heart would beat right out of your chest when they squeezed your hand. Could they feel it? Could they feel your thumping pulse, the one they caused? Not over their own they couldn’t. The ringing in their ears, the heavy feeling in their chest.

They were the fool in love, dragging their love with them, gripping your hand tight hoping you wouldn’t let go. Hoping you couldn’t feel their pulse beat through the palms of their hand.
