your friendly neighbor tuturo has shown many qualities in the span of those seasons. he’s (let’s use this pronoun for now) the glue in le gang. he’s always there for his friends to the point we joke about him being the ‘mom’ friend in the group because there’s always one in every friend group and it falls on his shoulder in le gang.

Even though he has fought with lucas I never doubted his love for lucas.

Right before eliott and Lucas met in the bus station they told Lucas to get the beers for them and he’s the one who tried to save Lucas from an embarrassing situation.

When eliott approached Lucas in the schoolyard he said

And he tried to correct lucas from saying some more silly things.

when lucas keeps lying and in a bad mood, he goes

and when things got awkward he’s always the one who tried to fix it by dragging basile out.

and when a friend isn’t being themselves, he would try to wake them up by being sassy.

when his friend is being nothing but ignorant and disrespectful, he draws the boundaries clearly and stops messing around immediately.

them going shopping and arthur saw the Häagen-Dazs ice cream and said lucas loved them.

he just loves his friends. he is loved by his friends.

and those little moments really showed how empathetic he is as a close friend of the group.

i know, arthur is no yann, he is not lucas’s best friend, but when his friends need him, he is always there. and its really important.

and of course he’s not perfect, there’s no such thing in skam universes. those comments he made about their biology teacher? big no. him joining and ranking girls in the school? one of the days he’s gonna regret that. him being completely awkward and try to tell lucas as if he knows a thing about the pride parade? thats really hard to watch. and he gotta learn by himself, because at the end, above all the universes, he really is the person of his own, and he needs to tell his stories to the whole world by himself.

the lockers room scene was a masterpiece -but it’s underrated.

in general, when you bring up s3 most iconic scenes, this clip is not always included. and imo it absolutely must be included always. it’s s3′s inflection point -the scene that changes the course of a story that, until now, remains very sweet and romantic, highlighted by this moment as even reveals he just broke up with his gf to be with isak. that’s a big deal and, as we see the world from isak’s eyes, up until this point we’re full of love and joy -but plot wise, something shifted.

julie did plenty of takes of isak simply entering the lockers room and it might sound obsessive, but it shows how well thought out every detail of this season was. every detail has a meaning, every thing happens for a reason, and if she wanted isak walking into the room in a very specific way is bc this action carried a specific duty -THE TENSION. the scene is filled with tension: the beginning bc isak is a little lost about their situation so he must appear this way -what are we, he wonders, what’s up with you even we spent the weekend together and i haven’t heard from you since then. tarjei’s perfomance gives you just this.

but then even tells him he and sonja took a break and the tension shifts into positive tension -delicate and romantic. tarjei and henrik’s chemistry is on fire every single time but in this scene… as a romantic pair they excel in a way you hardly ever see on screen, you don’t even want to breathe not to burst their bubble, there is so much INTIMACY between them, the pull between them is both so fragile and sensual. with this i’m talking about them individually as splendid actors and as onscreen lovers -tarjei delivers an isak that is shy and nervous while positively thriving with love inside, he stares at even with the softest eyes, he smiles so gently, he lets out a trembling sigh, his speech is contained -figuratively he’s shouting out loud, he’s one of those heart eyes memes but how come we know all this if this is not what we see? acting.

and henrik… henrik kills it. even takes he lead of the situation, he’s more anxious than he lets on so it’s there but not so much, he’s here to reassure isak not to make him more confused. so he appears confident but not arrogantly so, his confidence soothes isak -it shows in his stance, he openly stares at isak’s lips, the almost seductive way he asks isak about his parents, the way he steps closer to isak not invading just wanting to be closer. he’s falling in love with isak, he’s certain of this and is showing isak not only with words and actions but also body language. the dynamic between them is… uffff. yes. after this, however, isak drops a stupid line that at first glance does not add nothing new to the equation. we know his mum is mentally ill and he’s staying away from her, but henrik does this thing with his whole body -he freezes, but internally. been there done that, he thinks while his heart breaks. it’s like the simpsons ep when ralph develops an unrequited crush on lisa and later on lisa rejects him on national tv and then bart shows her the video and points out the exact moment she broke his heart. ralph is even. 

BUT WE ARE IN ISAK’S SHOES SO WE DON’T NOTICE THIS AT FIRST AND THAT’S THE BEAUTY OF IT -we are in cloud nine along with isak, we are unable to pick up on even’s change of attitude. and it’s bc julie did this deliberately. she has the bell ring right on time so we do not side-eye even’s quick exit -he leaves bc he has to according to us, but in reality even is running away. we are, indeed, not supposed to pick on this just yet, henrik’s performance is subtle af, there is no sombre song foreshadowing. isak just fucked up monumentally, the entire season takes a different route right from this second, but the magic of the main’s pov is that we know the same as him so we cannot suspect what on earth is going with even when he suddenly feels like taking a break from isak, what are u saying bitch we were just fine the last time we met? quit playing games with my heart.mp3

and it’s magical and beautiful also bc julie does not underestimate the audience’s capacity to think and come to conclusions for themselves -she knows her audience is smart and that we’ll pick up the clues as the season approaches its climax, and she knows we can do this on your own. so later on the reveal of even’s bipolar does not come as shock value, it’s not cheap drama for the AnGsT and forcefully extend the plot to reach the 10 weeks. IT MAKES SENSE (in more than one way, bc even being mentally ill serves more than 1 purpose) it’s simply consistent narrative, a smart, solid storytelling that drops clues for the audience to pick up, and in this case, once sonja reveals the truth, we can look back and make sense of everything that went down.

in conclusion: think twice before dismissing this scene. it’s one of the many, many reasons why skam s3 is literal art.

According to IMDB they are currently filming a SKAM ENGLAND, alternatively titled SKAM MANCHESTER!!!

For those who don’t know, Manchester is in the Midlands, a region in Northwest England that is historically middle class and multicultural, as the region was once home to many textile factories which attracted an immigrant population in the late 1800s…so this is a perfect setting for establishing the girl squad and the social/cultural drama that may ensue, and it’s a nice alternative to the more stereotypical choice of London as a locale. If the rumor is true, excited to see what develops!!
