Asked about the shop, Luan’s smile widened into a proper grin, joy clear in his expression. “I’m buying vegetables,” he stated as though that alone would explain how the shop was doing. “I mean, I can afford vegetables… It’s going pretty well.” Until then he had been living on off-brand cereal and the occasional sandwich so to be able to not only put vegetables in his cart but actually pay for them was a blessing he truly did not have words for. “I’ve had so much sugar.” His last comment was quieter now as though it was a secret that he had been living like an unsupervised five-year-old at a birthday party -all sugar and no one to stop him.
Lexx let out a laugh. "I'm glad, man. Veggies are very necessary and very yummy. Ever had zucchini pizza? It's delicious!" he was very excited to share his cast cooking knowledge, loving to know other people were eating well. "College was all sugar for me, honestly. Those communal kitchens were killer." He remembered those dark, sugar-coated days with a shiver.

what-the-heck-is-a-luan:
Finally able to afford something other than cereal, Luan decided to treat himself to some fresh vegetables. Sure, he couldn’t afford much but just the idea of being able to eat something unprocessed and not covered in sugar was enough to make him weep with joy. Picking up a really rather glorious zucchini, Luan’s attention was suddenly pulled from his potential purpose by the sound of a familiar voice currently singing to along to the song playing overhead. Furrowing his brows, it took a moment to locate the disembodied voice’s owner, but when he did, he found himself unable to look away.
Luan watched as Lex sung and even shook his hips as he placed lettuce in his cart. Well, Lexx seemed like he was in good mood. Luan bagged the vegetable he had been holding and placed it gently in his cart, keeping his gaze on Lex before giving a nod with an amused smile. “Oh, yeah. It’s a classic.” There was a joking air to his words, but truthfully he did greatly enjoy this song. It was damn catchy and he had found himself singing along more often than not, albeit usually not as enthusiastically as Lexx here.
Lexx grinned at the other man. He enjoyed the man's lack of cruelty and took it as an opportunity to get to know his not so close ' neighbour'. "So, how's the shop been doing, man?" He asked with a small cock of his head. "Good, I hope."

Lexx was working his way through Target when it came on the overhead speakers. Oh yes. "I've been awake for a while now, you got me feelin' like a child now, 'cause every time I see your bubbly face, I get the tingles in a silly place." he belted out the lyrics as he worked through the vegetable section. Shaking his hips a little, he picked up a head of lettuce and inspected it before nodding, putting it into a bag, and putting it in the cart. "The rain is fallin' on my window pane, but we are hidin' in a safer place, under covers stayin' dry and warm, you give me feelings that I adore." As he sang, he noticed someone watching him and a grin worked its way onto his face. "It starts in my toes, make me crinkle my nose, wherever it goes I always know, that you make me smile, please, stay for a while now, just take your time wherever you go," he crooned before speaking. "Great song, isn't it?"

“Yeah,” he said with a small laugh. Jace shrugged as the guy continued. “… Well, looks gone now.” He scanned the ground before looking back up at him. “I’m-uh Jace by the way.” He introduced himself with a sheepish grin. He was tempted to share his own fears to make the guy feel better, but it was too weird to say it was vampires when most people didn’t think they were real. He couldn’t even be sure the stranger before him wasn’t a vampire himself.
Lexx let out a small breath of relief. "Thank god. I feel a little better knowing it's better than screaming over a banana or something like that, though." He would have died; shrivelled up and died. "Nice to meet you, Jace."

Grinning now, Luan dropped his hand and gave a nod. “Always happy to hear that. I think so. The last thing you want is to be stuck with an asshole with a tattoo gun. Anytime you want to stop in I’ll be here.”
"Well, thank you for everything, man. I really appreciate it," Lexx thanked him. "I'll see you next time," his words were a promise and his smile was genuine. He might even be back before the month was out. With that, he picked up the map and turned to walk out the shop.

Returning the man’s smile, Luan nodded. “Yeah, I get that.” It was really no trouble at all, but he knew better than to push it. The last thing he wanted was to creep the dude out by continuing to insist. “Alright. Well, take your time. I’ll be here if you ever want to take the plunge.” Learning the male’s name, Luan’s eyes widened a little as he realized he had yet to introduce himself. “Oh! How rude of me. I’m Luan.” He reached out to give Lexx’s hand a quick shake. “It’s nice to meet you, Lexx.”
"Nice to meet you too, Luan. I think I'll definitely come back here for it, though," he told him as he allowed his hand to drop back to his side. "Friendly tattoo artists always make a first tattoo less stressful, right?" he asked with a small smile.

Without saying anything, Sofia took off at a jog in the direction of the park. For once, she was wearing sneakers, which came in handy in the dirt and grass. As she got a little farther away, she took it up to a sprint. She found his clothes easily, following the scent she’d pikced up from him in the breeze, and took off back to him. When she arrived, her breathing was a little heavier, and she tossed the clothes to him.
“You’re lucky nobody stole those, vato.”
Slipping on the clothes, he let out a small sigh of relief. Ah, yes, clothes; oh how he missed the. "I have no idea what that means but thank you for helping me out," he told her very gratefully. "I would have been screwed getting back to the Inn nakey." He could almost picture it, the frantic run while covering his nibbly bits and climbing the side of the Inn to get into his window.

Jace couldn’t help but grin and then let out the smallest chuckle in response after the stranger introduced himself. If anyone could relate to awkward, it was the brains of Mystery Inc. He extended a hand. “Jace he introduced himself. “Evolutionary, it’s a sensible fear. I don’t blame you… they’re gross and potentially dangerous. At least it’s more sensible than bananas. There was a kid in middle school who I knew. He was terrified of bananas.”
"Wow, bananas?" Lexx paused for a moment. "Nope, the only terrifying thing about them is how mortifying it would be to slip on one." He could just picture it; it'd be just like a cartoon and everyone would cackle at you. Well, and he'd run the risk of turning in anger and trying to eat the cacklers. That would have been a little less amusing to them. "Yeah, no, just mortifying," he lied easily; he was getting used to that lately.

“It’s no problem. I’m just happy to help,” Luan assured him with a soft smile, not realizing it was unusual for him to have a paper map of the town. He liked having a physical map. There was no chance for it to glitch or not load. It was always there ready to be looked at which was nice. Having his offer declined, Luan nodded but kept his smile. “Alright. It’s no trouble at all, but I can see why you wouldn’t to get a ride from someone you don’t know. Stranger danger and all that. Here, let me just…” Taking a pen he marked the route on the map before sliding it over. “Take that with you just in case.”
Questioned about prices, Luan had to fight the urge to jokingly say it all depended on how large the hand was then follow it up with a completely uncool badumtss. “Probably between one-fifty and two-hundred. It really depends on how much detail and how many colors, and how long it will take as well.”
Lexx smiled gratefully at the stranger. "It's not so much stranger danger as much as I don't wanna make you go out of your way, you know?" he admitted. He didn't want to be a bother to the kind stranger. "Alrighty, thank you. I'm not quite ready for it yet but I know I'll definitely be back," he told him nodding. "I'm Lexx, by the way," extending a hand and a small smile, he waited for the man to shake.

She couldn’t help but turn back to him, brows raised in surprise at his words. She hoped he hadn’t turned in the park, but held back on scolding him. There was too much potential for prying eyes there; the middle of the woods was always better, safer —not just for him, but for the secrecy of the entire pack. Of werewolves as a whole. As she answered him, she realized her gaze was probably making him uncomfortable again, and cast her eyes to her feet as she began putting on her shoes.
“We’re not far, luckily. If you tell me where they are, I can be back in five minutes.”
"Thank you, I really appreciate it," Lexx told her, referring both to her helping her out and her trying to avoid looking at him. "I left it on the part of the track closest to the woods," he just hoped nobody reported it or stole it. "Hopefully it's still there." He had taken to carrying a small outfit on him at all times since he had been going through clothes (and his savings) at an alarming rate.

Jace raised his brows and swallowed his food when the stranger spoke. Spider? His lips pursed but he nodded, deciding that made sense. Not a lot of people appreciated spiders, and he could logically understand that. He was wondering whether to say something when his co-worker friend took out his ringing phone. Jace turned in time to hear him mutter something about needing to talk to his wife. ‘Cya later, Jace.’ the man said with a pat on the shoulder as he answered his phone and began to walk off.
Jace turned back to grin sheepishly at the stranger. “Spider, huh? You alright?”
Lexx's cheeks turned a light pink as the realization of how he must have looked settled in. "Yeah, I just really don't like the tiny little fuckers," he spoke before realizing how insane that might have sounded. "Tiny hairs and 8 legs, no siree, no thank you," he told him before willing himself to stop. "I'm Lexx, nice to meet you even if it was because I flailed like a wild octopus." If only the gods from the heavens above would just take him away already.

“Alright, hit me again,” Jace said, still chewing on the small piece of the snack. He extended a hand to be given another. When suddenly him and his friend were interrupted by a loud noise nearby and he nearly choked from the surprise. Jace turned his head to see where it came from.
Lexx was just taking a walk, a simple, little walk when all of a sudden he was attacked. He spotted the hairy, multilegged beast in the corner of his eye and let out a high-pitched screech very manly scream as he batted at the thing. "Off, off, off!" he screeched screamed, as he flailed and finally knocked the thing from his shoulder. God, he hated spiders. Taking a deep, calming breath he looked around to find two people staring at him. "Sorry, I uh," he started timidly, "spider."

Sofia resisted the urge to laugh at his shyness, knowing the only thing that was likely to do was make him feel worse. Seeing others naked, especially other wolves, came with the territory. But he was new; not just to town, but unmistakeably a new wolf, too. So she only smiled, and made a point to avert her gaze.
“Did you at least leave some clothes somewhere nearby?”
Lexx face was burning with embarrassment. "My, uh, my bag's in the park but I'm not sure where we are right now," he admitted as he curled in on himself and looked around at the unfamiliar woods. "You don't happen to know if we're close do you?" He was never going to live this down, meeting other wolves whilst naked and lost. The whole pack was going to think he's- well, he guessed they would understand he still was learning to control it but still.

( @all-harte. )
Sofia’s bones shifted back into place, her body moving to stand upright again. The shift used to be painful, but after almost twelve years of turning every month, sometimes every day, it felt as natural as walking. It no longer felt like her mind was returning to her from far away, from something she couldn’t remember, but it felt like she was falling back into a larger part of herself. She was both woman and wolf, and embraced both halves of her with equal enthusiasm.
She found her clothes from before the change, tucked in a waterproof bag under a bush, and began dressing herself when she heard something rustling behind a line of trees. She pulled her shirt over her head and adjusted her hair, foregoing her usual routine of giving it a good brush or putting it into a braid and reapplying her lipstick, to instead go investigate. She remained barefoot, shoes held in hand. This early in the day, she could guess what it was, or who —another wolf, returning to their body after a night under the moon. Rather than approach and startle them, she stood back and called out—
“Good morning, sunshine. Did you enjoy your night?”
Lexx began to come back to clarity as his bones shifted and morphed back into a human shape and the fur hid away. Small moans and groans of pain passed his lips as he lay there. At the words, he looked up sharply in confusion, grimacing at the sharp twinge in his neck. "Oh yeah, such fun," he replied in a sarcastically happy tone before wincing. "Sorry, that was rude." It was only then that he noticed a problem. He was naked. Naked in front of a girl. "Oh lord," he whispered, covering himself with his hands.

KIRA LOOKED VERY NERVOUS AND EMBARRASSED. she so often did with tristan. as much as she adored her son to the moon and back, he was quite the troublemaker. although perhaps that was her fault. he got his powers from his father but he got the mischief from her fairy side of the family.
❛ oh, it was just, um- ❜ the mother scanned the ground. then she bent down with a bit of difficulty as soon as she saw the coin to pick it up. ❛ just a penny ! my son tristan was going to throw it in the fountain, but… ❜ she straightened herself back up to stand and tried to accomodate her son better in her arms as she did. a nervous laugh tumbled from her lips.
Lexx nodded with a small smile. "Well, like I said no harm done," his tone was sincere in the hopes of calming the nervous looking woman, though he couldn't blame her for being anxious about a stranger who could possibly be upset with her. "So, is it a wishing fountain? I haven't seen one of those since I was little," he asked with excitement on his face. He had always loved the idea of a coin for a wish and the possibility of a wishing fountain happening to be in the town he was forced to settle into was one of the greatest things he had heard all week.

Greeting what he hoped would be his very first customer, Luan’s hopes and dreams came crumbling down at an alarming rate as he was asked for directions. His smile faltered for a moment before picking up again. “I sure don’t,” he replied cheerily as he reached under the counter to pull out a folded map. “…but I have a map so you’re in luck.” Unfolding the new map he had grabbed to help him navigate his new home, he placed it on the counter. “Where was it you wanted to go? The Inn, right? That's…” His voice trailed off as he scanned the map before pointing it out. “It’s in the center of town. That’s a bit of a walk… Did you walk here or drive? I can give you a ride back if you want.”
Lexx felt bad for disappointing the man and felt guilt creep up in his chest as the man's smile dropped for a second. Should he just get a tattoo? No, that would be going too far. Right? When he pulled out a map, Lexx blinked in shock. Who had a paper map these days? "Thanks, you're a lifesaver," he commented as he pointed it out. "I ran but I couldn't trouble you like that. Thank you, though." He paused for a moment. "Say, how much would a multicoloured tattoo about hand sized cost me?" Not today, but maybe one day he would come back for it.

Sitting in his shop, Luan laid back on his chair and tossed up the small stress ball he had gotten only for the bell to ring, announcing the arrival of a potential customer. Turning his head, he was soon reminded of gravity as the ball came back with a vengeance, smacking him in the face. “A customer.” Standing up, the heavily tattooed young man walked around the counter to greet what he hoped would be his first customer.
“Hello!” Okay, a little too enthusiastic. Pausing, the male smiled and cleared his throat. “Welcome to Third Eye Tattoos what can I do for you?”
Lexx was lost, more lost than usual. He was almost as lost as he was emotionally. "Where the fuck is Rose Street?" he muttered to himself, trying to find the last street he made note of. Why did he leave before his phone finished charging? Yes, a run was too tempting to wait, but if he had just taken the dumb thing with its 23%, he would be able to find his way back easy peasy. He sighed to himself and resigned to ask the nearest place or person for directions. 8 minutes passed and his patience was slowly beginning to wane. Where on God's green- there, finally! The shop with 'tattoo' printed on the outside was the most beautiful thing Lexx had seen all day. Walking in, the bell made him wince; loud high pitches still made him cringe. "Hi, I'm sorry, but I'm a little lost here. Do you know the way back to the Inn?" He felt bad asking for directions when the man was obviously so excited but he couldn't very well walk back out now.
