I just remembered that in s4 Steve said he had worked as a lifeguard at the Hawkins pool for like three years. Maybe it was his usual job in the summer until Billy showed up and he had to resort to scoops ahoy, but now I’m thinking about Steve going for his application like every year, seeing Billy already there, stopping in his tracks while looking him in the eye completely speechless before doing dietro front and leaving without a word because there was NO FUCKING WAY he would work as a lifeguard alongside Billy Hargrove.

The thing i don’t get about people who are so set on hating on Billy, even after watching season 3, is the absolute certainty that he was not a human being - a boy - capable of change.

Like. Come on. Everything could have happened during the seven months that separated s2 from s3. For what we know, in that fragment of time billy could have apologized to steve. to lucas. both Sadie and Dacre said that billy had been respecting her boundaries, they were not friends yet but at least they had started to be civil towards each other.

Max looked DESPERATE as she saw him crying in the sauna. She was devastated by his death, so much that she wanted to join him.

And this is not only because he was her brother, but because she had seen potential. in him. to change.
