being an alien in a human body is weird and here are some things that dont translate well lol

👽 I am very clumsy: this body has way too many fingers for starters, and also I dont know what all these muscles are for or how to use them properly - I had to go through physical therapy to learn how to activate muscles in my legs - I had to RELEARN how to walk

👽 Talking is hard: having to talk by shaping your mouth and controlling the way sounds come out...thats so complicated just why

👽 Human social customs: Ive been told Im neurodivergent because I rly dont understand social rules, humans are very complicated and their rules regarding how to interact with each other are as equally complicated

This looks fun! So imma do it even though no one asked lol - also I skipped any questions that didn't apply to me

1 I first realized I was an alien when I was 6 but I didn't start identifying as otherkin until I was around 18. As a kid I have always been interested in space, I even wanted to be an astrophysicist at one point. I've also been told that I'm autistic but that's likely due to the fact that human social customs are literally alien to me. 2 I rarely get phantom shifts and if I do it's only ever a tingling sensation where my wings come out of my back. I get tons of mental shifts because I just get memories at completely random times and whenever I do I feel very inhuman for a time - and of course I have tons of memories in my dreams. And even in dreams that aren't memories, I'm still my 'alien self' or a mix between my human body and alien body. And I've been having shifts since I was 6. 3 I have two kintypes, alienkin and divinekin. I realized I was a divine kind of...around 11 years old but I couldn't really conceptualize what that meant until later when I was a teen. 4 I'm pretty sure my kintypes fall under the spiritual category because of the reincarnation stuff. 6 I really don't remember anything before I was 6 years old XD. 7 My species has a lot of markings all over our bodies with one main marking being on the chest and arm that basically represents you/your personality/your soul/etc - kind of like a name. But that symbol of a blue flame and a diamond has been really consistent throughout my childhood. 9 I get more memories than shifts. 12 yes 13 techno/rave music really reminds me of home, and every now and then I'll see a spaceship rendering that feels familiar. But other than that there's nothing on earth that I can really compare. 14 Being cold. my species is literally made of plasma and getting too cold could just outright kill you or could induce a sickness that almost always leads to death. I, as a human, hate the cold. I wasn't really afraid of much in my other life but being in a fragile body that can't fly has given me new fears, like a fear of heights. 17 Well when I die my soul will go home so I kind of will 'become' my kintype lol. I'm not ready to go home now though so that probably won't happen for at least a few more decades. 18 I first discovered the otherkin community when it was super popular in the mid to late 2010s and at first I was really put off by it but when I looked into what otherkin actually was instead of just what humans were saying about it I was like 'oh wait that makes sense' 20 I don't really have a way to connect to my kintype, I'm not like a wolf who can build a den under a desk unfortunately. I have been getting more into physical activity because moving and fighting are just very familiar to me. 21 As a kid I understood that I was an alien but I didn't really think about it until I was 15ish and at that time I just wanted so badly to be normal and be human but after I graduated highschool, a lot of that social pressure just fell away and I was able to explore my identity more. bonus q; this blog is really my first time speaking openly about my otherkinity with anyone that isn't my mom so I didn't even know about the whole 'kin for fun' thing - and I'm hoping I don't interact with those people they sound exhausting XD

On a lighter note, seeing all those joking “kin for fun” ask games sparked a determination in me to make a genuine, serious list of question prompts that would tie into what otherkin truly is.

I might actually do this ask game myself since these are the kind of questions I’d love to discuss with someone, back and forth.

6. For those who got frequent shifts before identifying as otherkin, what did you think caused them? Did you equate shifts of any kind with “nonhuman” feelings before discovering your kintypes?

Being Divinekin ✨️ I've posted a lot about being an alien but I'm also a divine being so here's a little about that: also this drawing is sort of what my true form looks like but it was really hard to capture it in my art style so it's not totally accurate

So a divine being is a being that has been given divine magick by the universe - they're usually split into mortal and immortal divines of which I am the former but it's complicated lol. There's also a whole magick caste system but I won't get into that in this post. My sister and I are divine beings, I guess I should also explain the relationship between me and my sister so real quick tangent, My sister and I for the majority of our souls existence were just one being and we have been divine for billions of years. In this most recent incarnation we split into two souls (we're twin flames). Our magick as one being was that of balance between opposing forces (like creation and destruction) and when we split my sister took over the creation half of the magick and I got the destruction bit. Now divines aren't bound to one 'kind' of magick, but when you first become a divine you obtain a specific kind of magick and your growth outside of that is determined by the caste system. Also kind of related to this but there has never before this been a case of a divine soul splitting into twin flames. Tangent over! I don't remember anything that happened before this incarnation but I do remember bits and pieces of the creation story of the star system I'm from (so my world and two other planets, that I'm aware of). Basically when my sister and I were one soul, billions of years ago, we made our star system. And ever since then we have reincarnated as the alien species that lives on the biggest world in the star system. Maybe I'll make another post about my home world, I don't know much about it though, all my memories where that's concerned are really blurry. I've just been thinking about this a lot more recently and it's really put things into perspective. Like you know when you learn a fact but then years later the fact really sets in and you're like "omg yea that's a thing holy shit". That's basically what I'm going through XD This started because I was talking to my main spirit guide and I was asking for confirmation on a bunch of stuff and she just kept refusing to answer my questions. Which isn't totally unusual because she takes a very hands off approach with the whole spirit guide thing. But this time was a little different so I was like hey what's up, and she basically said; you don't need to come to me for answers, you have access to all the answers you want and you don't need to use divination tools (tarot, pendulum) because YOU are a divine! And that was crazy to me because I had never thought about it that way, I had always assumed that being in a human body meant I didn't have access to my magick. So my plans now are to figure out how to access my magick and memories and stuff intentionally. (up until this point the memories have just been coming in passively I haven't been actively seeking them out). I have NO IDEA where to start with this lol but apparently I 'have everything I need' so 😅🤷

What I want to know is, why did I get a sudden burning sensation on my forearm when I was looking at an image of a particular weapon?

The older I get, the more disconnected I get with my body. You'd expect to get more used to it as more time passes by, but the opposite happens to me. I don't understand why.

No hate to therians, especially not canine kin, but when I open up the alterhuman/nonhuman tags, I wish there was more than just animal kin, y'know?

You guys already have a word, you guys are animals and therians, but the word "supernatural" is taken by one of the biggest tumblr fandoms and it's so hard to find my people that way.

I want to interact with more vampires, fae folk, mermaids, zombies, angels, demons, devils, haunted spirits, etc. Even robots and dolls! Where are you at??? I need you.
