Impa nodded sharply, “The spring sounds like a good idea.” She said, patting Zelda’s shoulder in support. The woman was doing good, struggling but, trying her best, that was more than what could be said of most monarchs she’d known back in her day.
Excluding, of course, the Queen herself.
“We’ll wait there.”
Awakening [allegiantchampion, adriotruler]
As they stepped up to the lake, Zelda looked around. The atmosphere was odd here still, off.. but she guessed that couldn’t be helped, with the state of things. She turns to Impa.
“Do you know a spot closer to the structure itself?  Or perhaps we can wait by the spring? I have heard that the Light Spirits are helping him on his quest..”

“Perhaps not, but you would... know. I suppose. Understand a bit better. The Sheikah have brutal traditions.” The warrior says, tilting her head as the Queen moves closer, one strong arm moving as to wrap around her shoulders.
“Matching our training.”
Zelda melts at the kiss, doubling over a little as she leans closer to Impa. She lets out a little giggle. “No one can lift things like you can,” she agrees. “.. Thank you for saying so, Impa. I cannot help but feel I am lacking, but..”
She looks up in surprise at Impa, tilting her head to the side. “.. If I had been there? You mean, during the war? I don’t think I could have done much, Impa..”

who has more fun decorating the house during holidays
who is more likely to give the silent treatment when they’re mad at the other

who is more likely to climb all over the other one when they’re bored

Impa nodded sharply, “Beneath the lake.” She repeated as they approached the edges of the the water. She glanced about, frowning with herself as she considered it.
“We wouldn’t, we would wait for him to come out.”
Awakening [allegiantchampion, adriotruler]
Zelda kept pace with Impa during the walk.. mostly, at least. Due to the differences in heights she somewhat lagged behind. As they came upon the lake, she could see some Zora in armored helms loitering around, likely handling some business down here before returning to Zora’s Domain.
“Beneath the lake?” She repeated, glancing up at Impa. “How would we reach such a place?” Zelda.. could swim, but it was certainly not one of her stronger abilities.  There wasn’t much time or reason for swimming lessons alongside the multitude of other things she’d had to learn as a child.

Impa leaned closer, pressing a soft kiss to the Queen’s hair. “Who would carry things for you then?” She teases, a rare joke as she remains close. “You are more than worthy, my Queen, don’t worry...”
She sighs softly, “What you’ve learned is.. Disconcerting. I am not surprised by your reaction.”
A pause, “If you’d been there...”
Zelda gave a little laugh. “That’s fine, Impa. I can teach you about gardening.. and if you’re just dreadfully bad at it, I can always just use you to carry heavy things around.” The Queen smiled slyly, playfully, but just as happily.
It was so nice to see just a bright smile on Impa’s face. They could be difficult to coax out of the other woman. It was a pleasant moment - until Impa dropped to a murmur, and the mood made a shift alongside Impa, closer to her now. The intensity behind Impa’s words and the squeeze of her hand made her cheeks color, ears drooping as she glanced away.
“I- I.. will try to continue being worthy of that trust. Having you here beside me is so important to me, Impa.” She glanced back up at her guardian, shy. “I don’t think I could rule without you with me.”

Impa led Zelda along. Lake Hylia, she remembered at least the name of the place, the general location, and that’s where she walked towards. Not too far from town, not enough to need a horse, anyway.
“There is a structure beneath the lake, he might be there.” The last Hero she’d heard of certainly had. She tried not to look around too much, the grey, gloomy mood and weather about surely was not the usual, and she would not let it affect her.
Awakening [allegiantchampion, adriotruler]
Sheik quickly turned to follow after Impa, pausing just a moment go five Telma a respectful bow before scurrying out of the room alongside their ‘teacher’.
It hit them once they were out of the room that this whole thing must be a bit of a culture shock. Zelda wasn’t sure exactly how long Impa had been trapped beneath the castle, but surely it was long enough for quite a few things to change. How jarring, to sleep i none time and wake up in one so far flung.
Telma watched the pair go, a small smirk on her face. “.. I really hope that one’s a little more subtle. How many people does she think there are with the triforce on their hand?” The woman sighs and shakes her head, then rols the map back up. She heads back out to the bar front, ready to continue another day of hard work.

“I can help you with your gardening later, though I know little about it.” She said, fingers wrapping around one of Zelda’s hands, squeezing gently. Her smile widened, this felt right, felt good.
“We are closer, I’d like to think.” Impa murmured, inching a tad closer to the Queen, “You are the only I trust fully.”
A bit taken aback by the admission, Zelda tightened her grasp around her teacup and then looked up at Impa, searchingly. She followed suit, returning her teacup to the tray before speaking, a genuinely happy - if not still a bit way - smile forming on her face. “I would love that, Impa.”
She reached out and took one of Impa’s hands in both of hers. “Truly, I would. The liens of duty separating us are need at times I suppose, but.. not always. We’re closer than simply that, yes? We should.. do something together, something fun..”

“Whatever you’d like, my Queen, I just...”
She paused, grunted, tone lowering as she spoke with distinct sincerity, “After yesterday, I found I wanted to... to spend  time alongside you. More.” She admitted, looking to Zelda, pausing only briefly as to place her empty cap back on the tray.
“Without worrying about duty so overly much.”
For a moment, Zelda felt like she had overstepped a boundary, and even after that moment ended she felt as if she had broken some unspoken rule. There was an uneasy tension now, and Zelda felt her heart clench. Did Impa figure out what she had meant? Was she disgusted, desperately trying to change the subject?
Or was she simply being paranoid in thinking Impa had caught on? Either way, she could feel emotion welling up, emotion she quickly tramped down. “I don’t think I can ever have a real rest, Impa, but I shall try. After the small meetings, of course. I haven’t worked in the garden in awhile..”
Of course they had gardeners at the castle, but she felt as if weeding and planting until she dropped would be excellent as a rest.

Impa raised a brow at that. She glanced away, moving as to sip from her own cup in silence. This was getting dangerously close to -something-, and Impa was no longer sure if it was wise to follow.
Heirs, leadership. Political bullshit Impa had never understood, part of the reason she was so widely trusted, and precisely what would make her unfit to lead.
“... perhaps we could take the day to rest.” She commented, “You’ve been working as hard as I have.”
“Impa, you are pressing by asking me that,” she whines out, ears drooping. Her face is red with embarrassment, now. How can she discuss something like this with the very person she likes? It’s not as if she can just say Impa is her type out loud. .. At least, not directly.
“I’m not actively seeking a… a type, Impa. Nor am I really seeking.. anyone else, for companionship. You are here with me, and that is all I really need.” And then she shoved another biscuit into her mouth.

“That sounds like a yes.” Impa commented, just the same. The Queen was not one to dodge questions, at least not like that, so clumsily, and Impa couldn’t help but smile at how endearing it all was.
She inched closer, “I won’t press, I just want to ensure I can help with your happiness. If there is a sort you like, I want to make sure you stay with them.” The warrior reassured, “What is your type, my Queen?”
Zelda, surprisingly unprepared for the question to be directed her way, coughed on her tea a little, swallowing thickly as she composed herself.. She went to speak, to be at least somewhat honest about where her affections ly, but then glanced away, lifting her shoulders in a shrug.
“It does not really matter on my end, does it? I will be paired with someone of some sort of status who is capable of allowing me to bear a heir. The person I am interested in–” Zelda coughed again, stopping herself. “–if, if I was interested in someone, I doubt they’d.. approve.”
She sighs. “.. Though I’d throw their disapproval out the window for her- them- if I-… ugh.” Zelda sets her tea down. “The short answer is, it doesn’t matter. I’d rather you not look for anyone until this becomes a pressing matter.”

Impa watched with interest, unable to keep from chuckling at the young Queen’s antics. “I never thought you would, I suppose it simply doesn’t fit me.” The warrior said, reaching as to pat Zelda’s arm in a small, reassuring gesture.
“What of you, my Queen? I suppose I never asked, should I be looking into a heroine, rather than the hero, to be your consort?”
Zelda’s ear twitched, a moment of hope causing her heart to beat faster. She played it off with a small hum and a nod, taking a sip of her tea before speaking. “That makes sense. I more wanted you to know that, if you wished to, I would not deny you it because of your duty to me.”
Even if it would pain her heart so. At least, though, a child of Impa’s would be adorable.. regardless of who the other parent was. To end that train of thought, Zelda swiftly picked up a jam-spread biscuit and shoved it into her mouth indelicately.

Impa glanced to her, cleared her throat, “Wouldn’t be possible.” She says, and sips her tea, pausing for a long moment in apparent embarrassment.
“Men don’t interest me, I don’t wish to bear children just because.”
“I wouldn’t say very young.” Zelda shoots back, huffing softly. Her ears droop slightly, but she takes a sip of her tea and cheers back up, a bit. “Just, enough not to have to take into account too much what the council thinks. I do value your opinion, though.”
There’s a beat of silence, and she looks over at Impa, curious. “Have you ever.. considered it? Continuing the Sheikah? There are not many of you left, but there are enough to at least carry a few to the next couple of generations.. and more, if we include half-Sheikah..”

“I suppose I am in no position to speak on it.” Impa comments, moving as to settle near the Queen once she’s closed the door. The warrior settles down quietly, taking her cup.
“I am not doing much to further the Sheikah, myself.” The champion commented, glancing down at her drink, carefully craddled between two hands. “You are very young, it is easy to forget, sometimes.”
Zelda reached up and patted the arm she had looped through with her own, letting out a little laugh. “I suppose he is not the most driven, now that the world has already been saved,” she says softly, amused. “But he has been doing his best at his lessons. I agree, though, that that may not really qualify him to be King. Regardless, he and I are simply friends, against all rumors from the populace that we are otherwise.”
Sliding her arm free of Impa’s, she went to take a seat, lifting up the small tea pot on the tray and using it to fill up the two cups. She motioned for Impa to join her, putting a few sugars in her own cup and then lifting it up, taking a small sip.
“Truly, Impa, I am not in a rush to deal with all of this. I am still young, I have plenty of time to be.. encouraged into a marriage and producing a heir before I truly need to make a decision.”

Impa raised a brow at that little smirk, clearing her throat as she promptly averted her gaze, attempting to remain neutral. Her ears drooped just a hint, considerably smaller than Zelda’s own, pointed just the same.
“It is not up to me, is it?” She says, opening the door to the library, a small tray bearing some food for the Queen already set, the maids all too aware of her usual schedule, “My duty is to make sure you are not harmed. My only concern is that he may not be able to keep up with you, you’re more.. Motivated, than he is.”
That had to be a good answer. Not too bad, reasonable.
Not too positive, either, and Impa defiantly ignored the obvious lack of ethics in doing so.
“Between us.. ?” Zelds arched a brow, letting the question trail off. Oh, Goddesses. Not Impa too. Zelda repressed a sigh, glancing away. “He is a dear friend, Impa. None of us would be alive if not for him, but more than that he is a kindhearted young man I am happy to share my friendship with.”
She looks back to Impa, smirking slightly. “Beyond that, there is nothing going on ‘on that front’, Impa. Is this you saying you’d approve if I were to court him?” Nothing wrong with asking.. perhaps she could use this to try and feel out if.. by some miracle.. Impa had feelings for her.

“Let’s just tell them! What’s the worst that could happen?”
Impa raised a brow, staring at Zelda from her seat in the Queen’s bed. She frowned, sighing softly before speaking, “You get dethroned.” The warrior spoke, “I am no noble. They’ll claim it unwise, that I should be sealed once more to be of use.”“I do not wish to responsible for any harm that might reach you.”

Impa took a long look over the map, gaze narrowing as she took in all the changes in the terrain ever since her time had passed. Her ears twitched at Zelda’s request, and the guardian took a moment longer staring at the paper, reaching out as to run her fingers over the surface.
“Of course.” She murmurs, affording Zelda a subtle quirk of her lips in a smile. Things had changed far too much, they could tell, but most of all, the odd divide in the desert concerned them.
The Gerudo were gone, she’d heard, but it made no sense.
“We’ll get to it right away. Come on, Sheik.” The warrior beckoned, and turned as to walk away.
Awakening [allegiantchampion, adriotruler]
Telma looked surprised, and then laughed heartily. “There’s some fire in you, for certain! Alright, let’s see what we can find you, hm? I look forward to not being disappointed, darlings.” Lifting the piece of parchment, she spread it otu over the table, placing weights at each end to keep it held down.
On the map it showed were other members of the Resistance were currently working. Many of them were in the city, one was scheduled to head to the mountains, and another was at Lake Hylia. Telma let out a hum, then tapped the spot next to Lake Hylia.
“So, you said you were looking for our green-clad Hero, hm? That boy is headed towards trouble. Maybe you two could lend him some help, hm? He’s off collecting some trinket he thinks will help. I’m sure you two can handle something like that.” Telma turned back around and smiled at the pair. “Yes?”
Sheik saluted, placing a hand over their chest and nodding. “We can!” Then, quieter, they turn to Impa. “.. Yes?”

secret relationship starters
Feel free to alter to fit muses.
“I am not ready for them to find out about us!”
“It’s cool, [name] promised to cover for me.”
“My roommate’s out of town. Want to stay the weekend?”
“We’ve got to stop being so careless.”
“Look, if we get found out, I could get fired!”
“It’s hard to believe you actually care about me when you’re so hellbent on keeping this from all your friends.”
“I can’t tell them! Do you have any idea how they’d react?”
“Jesus, with all this sneaking around, it’s like being closeted all over again.”
“We have to tell them sooner or later.”
“Let’s tell them the truth. Tonight.”
“I’m only dating [name] as a cover. You’re still my baby.”
“[Name] agreed to ‘date’ me until we’re ready to tell everyone.”
“Are you ashamed of me?”
“I spent two hours hiding underneath your bed until they left!”
“Shit! Someone’s coming! Get in the closet, get in the closet!”
“Let’s just tell them! What’s the worst that could happen?”
“No one can know about us.”
“Let’s just keep this between us for now, okay?”
“People wouldn’t like it if they knew, you know that.”
“I’m not ashamed of you, I’m just not ready to tell anyone yet.”
“You still haven’t told your parents about us? But you promised!”
“It’s kind of fun, having a secret.”
“Let’s go out of town. Somewhere where nobody knows us.”
“Yeah, so… I may have accidentally told [name] about us…”
“I don’t care what you do, just get [name] to promise to keep quiet. Pay them if you have to.”
“I’m tired of being your dirty little secret!”
“Once I break up with [name], then we tell people.”
“But you’re going to divorce them soon, right?”
“This isn’t a relationship! Relationships don’t involve one party climbing down a fire escape because the other is too ashamed to admit they’re dating them!”
“Okay, fine, but can I at least tell [name]?”
“If I don’t tell someone, I’m going to go crazy!”
“Shhh, be quiet. Remember, someone’s still downstairs…”
“Fuck it. Let’s get a motel.”
“Either we’re open about this, or I’m ending it.”
“When I said I liked you, I didn’t expect to be sneaking around all the time.”
“I can’t do this anymore.”
“Why haven’t you told your friends about me? Is it because I’m not as well-off as you are?”
“This was fun at first, but the novelty’s worn off.”
“It just feels really shitty, to be the secret boyfriend/girlfriend.”
“Look, either we date secretly, or we don’t date at all.”
“I’m not supposed to be dating, period!”
“If my parents found out about us, they’d go ballistic.”
“Just one more year until I’m out from under their roof and I can date whoever the hell I want.”
“Dating in secret never works out.”
“Where are we even supposed to go for our dates?”
“Just once, I’d like us to go on a date that didn’t end in us having to get a motel room out of town because we don’t want to get caught.”
