Never allowed to express them, because he’s always expected to love his friends. But sometimes he sits across Lucy’s table and breaks the silence of them eating, by saying something along the lines of “I didn’t like it when Erza punched me in the face today. I seriously didn’t mean to ruin her cake, it was an honest accident. She didn’t even apologise, even though I did.” And Lucy won’t say anything, because she knows he doesn’t want an answer - he just needed to air his frustration out. “Happy gave me the silent treatment, but I don’t think I deserved it. He always butts into our conversations, but I can’t say hi when he’s talking with Carla. He has double standards and I can’t help but feel annoyed.”

Lucy once tried to get him to tell his friends about the troubles he was having - that he didn’t care for being punched or being treated like nothing when he was doing all he could for everyone, but Natsu just told her that having someone to talk to about it was enough. Except Lucy couldn’t help but wonder if she ever made him feel that way - defeated, overlooked. So she asked him. He only said that his wishes regarding her hadn’t been because she upset him - it was him being possessive. Wanting her to stay in bed for longer, wanting her to spend more time with him rather than her books - all things he’d also be sad if she did, because he knew she loved reading and writing, and he loved the coffee she made every morning for the two of them.

Yes, Lucy was the one person who Natsu could never hold any grudges against. She who had offered so much to be with him - how could he be anything but grateful

Chapter 545: Irreplaceable Friends

In the year X793, Lucy wins an award for her new book while all the guilds in the country of Fiore move on with their lives. Hisui pardons Crime Sorcière of their crimes, allowing them to live on to the future.

Gajeel points out that since Lucy and Anna have the same smell, it means he likes Anna. In which Natsu does not deny. It's cute how the Heartfilia Clan has this history with him. He even got the heiress, as his.

Lucy wakes up thinking everything was just a dream. Then sees Natsu and Happy in his house comfortably waiting for her to wake up. She remembers what she did while drunk. We should've seen more of it! Don't fret Lucy, you are Natsu's future bride.

I never thought that this would happen. Many people were supporting me along the way. I shared with my first blog that I was doing this to heal my inner child who has always been a Fairy Tail fan since 2011. It's been part of my growth and will always be part of my heart.

Chapter 544: You're the King

Acnologia's rampage continues even with Fairy Sphere encasing him, leading to Meredy saving the day by linking all of the Mages continent's power to help reinforce the Defense Magic. Natsu, with the combined power of the other six Dragon Slayers, defeats the spiritual form of Acnologia which in turn disintegrates his physical form, leading to Ishgar's victory and their future secured.

As the ravines of time opened, Natsu and the other dragon slayers fell from the sky.

What a comedic way to end.

And Natsu fell toward his family.

Not Erza, Gray, or other FT members but with Lucy and Happy.

He falls in the most fashionable manner. Pinning down or mounting Lucy as he always does.

Chapter 543: Hearts as One

As Natsu and the dragon slayers battle with Acnologia's human form in the ravines of time. The people who were left battle with Acnologia's dragon form in Hargeon. Lucy leads the fight as she devises a plan on how to defeat him while Natsu leads the fight in the spiritual place.

Lucy reminisces on her fateful encounter with Natsu and Happy.

Where she can remember it as clear as day.

I've seen a reblog who also supports the idea that they fall in love with each other in the GMG/Eclipse arc. My take is the same. Natsu also got protective of her in the next arc. Yes, he was out one year but that is to train to protect her and his loved ones. Here in the Alvarez Kingdom arc, due to Natsu's disappearance, their reunion, and Natsu's illness along the way, it was shown how Lucy really loved him in return. We have felt her affection and that she will do anything to save him. Just how he did it way back before.

It's not just Natsu who saves Lucy, it's Lucy who saves Natsu also. Our power couple, our NaLu 🩷💛

Chapter 539: World Collapse

As Natsu disappears unknowingly, Acnologia was able to devour the ravines of time and got all the dragon slayers! He unleashes a destructive magic that would destroy the nearby places.

Zeref and Mavis met their end. As the book of END vanishes into the thin air, Natsu appears in front of Lucy and Gray

Lucy cries happily that Natsu is still with them. Aww how can you make your wife cry that much Natsu?!

They were discussing what they're gonna do after this war. Gray responds by settling things with Juvia. Lucy wants to find Aquarius. Happy asks Natsu and he is gone.

Chapter 520: Dragon or Demon

With Natsu there is always Lucy

As Natsu talked to Igneel, he was able to identify what he believes in who he is. A human, not a dragon nor a demon. This wakes him up.

Natsu wakes up seeing a crying Lucy and Happy.

He is looking below like is he thinking about things or relieved?

Lucy and Happy are doing their best to provide heat for Natsu.

Irene is telling the story from 400 years ago, on how she was able to conjure the dragon slaying magic and then slowly turning into dragons.

As Natsu continues to travel within his heart, he sees someone familiar. Lucy?

Chapter 510: Natsu's Heart

Lucy stood beside an unconscious Natsu.

Natsu has experienced quite many damages in this battle. Lucy is in distraught.

After Porlyusica explains that it's outside her ability to help as well, Dimaria chimes in and reiterates her claim that Natsu is a monster. Lucy tells Dimaria she is wrong, which sparks an argument between the two regarding how much people think they know about each other.

Lucy tries to end the argument by stating her beliefs about Natsu. Ever and Brandish teases her, so cute.

Chapter 507: Voice

Erza gets in between the battle of Natsu and Gray. With the recent passing of Master, this is the last thing he'd like to see (his kids fighting). As they both calm down, Gray sees Juvia alive and passes out. Natsu exerted too much power and received quite damage, trembled and fell, someone enveloped him from behind ...

His Lucy.

He uttered the word softly,maybe in disbelief and at the same time of relief.

And as he sees Happy, he smiles. Felt that he still got his family and passed out.

Lucy carries Natsu and gets ready to see Porlyusica. We love a strong girl!

But before they're able to get out, someone comes in.

Irene comes into the picture, Lucy shields Natsu as much as she can.

Chapter 504: Rift

Natsu and Gray continue the battle, with an overwhelmed Gray taking the damage of Natsu's newfound power. Natsu declares he won't hold back, before remembering the events that had occurred prior to his transformation.

Lucy, motionless, bloody, and beaten up. The last moment he saw before he closed his eyes was Lucy suffering blows from Dimaria. And now the first thing he sees is Lucy full of blood, naked, bruised, and lifeless.

A tearful Natsu believed his longtime best friend / partner (future girlfriend/mate/wife) to be dead. Probably thinking he wasn't able to save her for the second time already! And with her "death" being the trigger to awakening Natsu's demonic power
