Today is the first day of the three day Puredata and Arduino class. It was really interesting to learn the computer programming behind visual effects that I can do with videos, photos, and text for installations.
This is my work from the Portage Exhibition Although it was really annoying that it decided to rain all day and my pieces are displayed out I managed to make it work, even though I had to leave two of my pieces out because they couldn't be damaged by the rain
This was definitely a memorable opening exhibition, not only because of the vast amounts of different and dynamic art pieces but because of some of the incomprehensible events that occurred during the opening. One of the first crazy thing's that happened is one of my friends mosaic raindrop sculpture was thrown in the fountain. Then another current ENSBA student had a piece of his hair cut off and his glasses stolen in the middle of his performance. A non ENSBA student literally just walk up to him during his perfomance piece and cut a piece of her hair and then his and then decided to take his glasses off his face and then leave with them. The current student didn't do anything, instead he was in the moment of his performance and continued to perform with dignity like nothing ever happened.
