this is an au I've been posting about!! :)) there's more under the tag #pv gets cursed au , and that's kinda what I've been calling it in my head.

the summary is that after pure vanilla gets cursed, the other ancients in their grief - and thanks to the recently released beasts - fall and become 'berserk'! And maybe Pv's curse has something to do with that too?...

I want to keep the curse a little vague a little longer, but besides other things, it makes it so noone can recognize him anymore. When they look at him, they don't see Pure Vanilla, but a stranger instead. And to some extent makes them convinced he's dead. Did I mention that that includes his souljam too? :))

Where's White Lily? Well, that's a good question... Remind me if the souljam of freedom is reformed again?

Shadow Milk is Not Happy about being the only beast thrown into the whole 'new souljam holder' deal all alone, mostly because it means the attention of the witches is all on him, and that once again he's all alone with no one to fall back on.

It's just like The Fount, but even worse, with no souljam of deceit and the light of truth refusing to acknowledge him He's no more than a puppet on a stage, and the irony doesn't escape him.

Then, a Recluse comes off the Peak Of Truth, one who has seemingly lost all care for status and the ordeals of gods, someone interesting... yeah the recluse becomes his rock in a raging hurricane unconsciously 👍

meanwhile the truthless recluse is harrowing in misery as one should

Hollyberry was the first ancient to fall and go 'beast' mode - which was mostly thanks to Eternal Sugar Cookie!

Hollyberry just wanted to protect everyone she loved, but wouldn't let anyone inside her heart.... Good thing Eternal Sugar was her other half, and that there was no light of passion to convince her to leave her side....

They love each other! :) They can make a perfect paradise for all the cookies in the hollyberry kingdom together! :) No one will get hurt if everyone stays in the castle! :) Endless parties, banquets, and all that sweet berry juice... :)

BAHAHA YEAH EXACTLY- lost story short tho, it's a combination of a lot of bad events and a degrading mental state. Supposedly losing two of their best friends, the war still raging on and being worse than ever, and then the witches deem them not good enough for the job, and give them their own replacements to take care of? While they're dealing with their own respective issues that are magnified tenfold by a beast whispering in their ear? Seeing history repeat itself in real time as they fail to protect their kingdoms?

Something's gotta give.

YOOOOOO SCROLL THIS IS SICK!! I AM STARING AT THIS THE DISPAIR IN THE SAGE VS THE GLEE IN SHADOW MILK'S REFLECTION

THE EYES AT THE ENDS OF THE SAGE'S FLOATY HAIR TOO?? YESSS I havent figured out how to write this but my silly lil headcanon is that the white underside of the Sage's hair is the same black void his eyes are as Shadow Milk. While its referred to as his "hair" its not at all hair in material, but basically just concentrated magic connected to his body the same way hair is. The magic in him shifted from the stars in his hair to the eyes when he fully embraces Dark Moon magic. As Shadow Milk his hair becomes a starless sky and watching ceaselessly through the darkness.

His past doesnt actually haunt him as much as you'd think. Theres a fundamental difference between this timeline and the canon: forgiveness was given so much earlier on. Moon Milk went by his Beastly name far longer than the rest of the Ancients, but more for a lack of having anything else to be called more than actually being Shadow Milk. His rage and anger and violence was caused by his hurt, but when that was alleviated all those other things were quelled. Moon Milk doesnt hate Shadow Milk or the Fount because his suffering was acknowledged and corrected, and he really IS the best he's ever been.

Now, the real question is, what is the best he can be? He thinks on his own, this is it. He thinks he's the best version of himself as Moon Milk and his persona as the Sage of Truth, that he's living the best of both Shadow Milk's and the Fount's lives. If he doesn't get his destined other half like all the other Ancients- he decided to stop living for someone who crumbled and make his life better by himself. If he's going to be alone for a while longer, he wanted it to be on HIS terms

anyway, both of these are more so inspired rather than directly basing off of someone cares, lmao. I just keep thinking about what the HECK happened to make him that way in the lore.... (also him holding a broken souljam was just a cool visual I wanted to illustrate)

...He did get violent last chapter though (said through clenched teeth because it's still making me insane when I think about it) (also hello to a personal headcanon i have for the recluse in general that ribbons from his arena animation appear whenever he uses his magic and curl around him awakened pv style)
