Wasn't able to finish a rosary I wanted to do for the big hike I'm gonna be taking, gonna have to pick back up on it next week but I'm still happy how it's coming along : )
I'm moving countries (and continents) soon and so having limestone from my hometown in something I'll be able to use for the rest of my life is important to me, especially because I can't bring my fossils with me (they're super abundant in Ohio but Chile prohibits importing them) so being able to turn them into art is really fulfilling

I feel like I can't connect 100% with any denomination so being able to pluck things out for my own beliefs is so freeing and draws me so much closer to God. It's caused me a lot of personal tension over deciding and researching on what is for me the best theological positions, but it's been a process way worth the work it takes
honestly I think we should use ‘craft’ and ‘practice’ more to describe a relationship with God. as a Christian whose faith is a mishmash of different denominations’ doctrine and beliefs and cultural ideas, the idea of my faith being a ‘craft’, something I’ve constructed and built and put together with my own two hands like a holy arts-and-crafts project that I continue to build upon is deeply relatable, and the thought of my faith being something I actively practice, actively create and alter and use in my day to day life, is really beautiful.
anyways, what I’m getting at is my Christianity is my craft and my faith is my practice. Something built and practiced outside of a cathedral wall. Something beautiful

I pray that every warmongering world leader, every ICE agent, every genocide denier and enabler, every politician and CEO that chooses profits and power over a liveable future for humanity, will see God face to face, just as I hope to.
That they will know fully just as they have been fully known, and that the truth burns hot enough to sear the very flesh off their bones.
That they will see the horrors and atrocities they have committed against humanity and against God, and that from their skin down to the withered remains of their souls, they are set ablaze with the grief of the Calvary they made of this world.
I pray that they, too, will be sanctified and that we may stand reconciled before our Creator, yes, but that first they will know and understand the truth so deeply and fully that even God's forgiveness seems nigh unbearable.

evidence St. Paul was secretly a lizard:
- speaks of scales falling from his eyes (reference to him shedding)
- frequently in captivity
- has never claimed to Not be a lizard

When I say I'm anti-americanism, I don't mean anti-american. (I'm getting an English degree, ofc I enjoy american culture.) I mean the weird and annoying habit of introducing american culture in places where it has no reason to be. Like using an English word instead of a perfectly valid word in your own language and pushing Halloween down everyone's throats as if it makes you a cooler and sofisticated person to celebrate it. Americans are fine, but I want to kill americanism by tearing chunks of its skin with my own bare hands and using it to make a pair of leather sandals.

I feel like Catholics and other Christians tend to hold up the Holy Family as the ideal role model of a nuclear family; but Mary was pregnant outside of wedlock, and Joseph was not Jesus's bio dad. The Holy Spirit (the One Who conceived Jesus) is referred to with feminine language in the original text of the Scripture. According to the Church, Mary and Joseph never consummated their relationship; instead adopting more kids. At Jesus' request, John the Beloved took in Mary as his own Mother--that's chosen family.
None of these things exactly fits the ideals of a nuclear marriage and family which Christians espouse--in fact, it would be considered scandalous. But they were a Holy Family nonetheless. It's almost like family can be complicated and not fit into lines or boxes, and still be built on love and honoring to God
