small QOL things fr can do before their anniversary:

allow users to change their vista in the dropdown menu alongside their avatar

choose whether your avatar's background is transparent or opaque

black starsilks

let permababies wear skins/accents

more glowing claw tip colors

fr dark mode (literally make an optional black background and change default text to white)

be able to turn off friend requests

baldwin queue (to continue to allow ad revenue, limit a stack to 5 to 10)

library scene

a drop down to separate UMAs and site/fest skins in the AH

actually speaking of new players. today while looking for a thread of flight rising art assets i found this post from 2020

and i’m crying so much like. there’s people on the site that don’t know we only had 1 exalt pillar originally…… and the exalt pillar update WASN’T two weeks ago……

Literally WHY don't we have hatchling skins. It puts no additional burden on the artists' part, it would skyrocket demand for both eternal youth scrolls and skin blueprints, it would make so many people happy, there's ZERO downside to this idea and I can't even comprehend what justification they have for not implementing it.

Put too much effort to leave this just in the suggestion forums: Some mockups on how comments on dragon pages could be implemented!

1. Opt-in first: Comments are disabled by default, and you need to enable them for each dragon. The option would probably fit best on the edit page, but there could be an option on the dragon profile itself.

2. Accessing comments: Either by adding a specific option on the alerts popup (if they don't want to mess w the alerts page) or taking the chance to revamp the alerts tab a bit:

3. Managing comments: The dragon owners can delete all comments without notifying user, just like profile comments. You can also delete all comments and enable disable an individual's comments on it

My honest opinion is that stained is one of the best genes out there for letting us play with hue, saturation and brightness to get colors beyond the colorwheel + harmonizing different accent colors together. Sure its just an overlay layer but its an insane expansion of the colorwheel when you think about it. Also it fucks

i. What is this?

This is a port of the thread @brightmyth-fr posted earlier today in the FR discussion forums, which was then deleted a short while ago. I am reuploading it here to my blog on behalf of the AAA discord server for visibility; though I agree with the contents of this post, I did not write it. Please keep this in mind when commenting/sending messages.

Tl;DR: 

- Several skin denials in the recent past seem to reflect unclear or unwritten rules for custom skins. The listed skin rules have also not been updated significantly in a number of years, despite significant changes being made to the applied skin rules over time.

- We, as in a number of skin artists, are requesting that admins clarify the existing skin rules on site. We are not asking for them to be changed; we are asking for them to be reworded in such a way that reflects what skins are and aren’t denied according to sources like recent denial messages, the Skins & Accents problems thread, etc.

- This concerns the admins, not the skin moderators, who we recognize also struggle with the unclear rules and with keeping up with long skin review queues.

- If you are a skin maker, consider releasing the next set of skins you had planned and then avoiding releases for the rest of April to help bring awareness to this issue. A number of artists in the AAA discord server have agreed to do this. However, participation is entirely up to you - this is not a demand for all skin makers to stop submitting personal skins, public skins, festival entries, etc.

This is not a suggestion thread, hence why it’s not posted in suggestions. This is an information and awareness post. 

Skin submission is a very lengthy process for a majority of skin artists. The biggest frustration we are dealing with currently is lack of clarification on rules. The current skin guide is nearly a decade out of date.

We do not ask for the rules to be changed. We would like staff to update the on-site skin guide. Rules have clearly changed since it was written and there are VERY minor things that will get a skin 100% denied.

Failing that, this can serve as a warning for aspiring skin artists to not fall into these common denial traps.

truly dont understand people who are against more clear skin/accent guidelines there are 0 cons to this
