are there not that many bonequest comics with both spigot AND net in them? i checked the website and only found like. three

yeah it’s weird that they don’t appear together at all. like net is mostly seen with deuce and a few other players but never with spigot. but it’s funny, I like to think they hate each other. well maybe net dislikes spigot and spigot is to full of himself that he can’t wrap his head around someone not liking him.

in my mind, their relationship is limerence. Dude would have an obsessive infatuation with Spigot and develop a strong desire to be in a relationship with him. he’d have this idealized version of him that he created in his head based off the few encounters he’s had with him. he feels a strong connection with him since he’s the first person he’d ever have a sexual experience with and he mistakes this for love. sure he might have laughed at him and made him feel embarrassed but he still kept coming back for more despite the repulsion he felt with himself.

he craves intimacy with someone and he finally got that someone. he wants to learn more abt Spigot so he goes abt stalking him, Spigot is oblivious to this as ever. he writes everything down in his "war journal" [dates, schedules, places Spigot often visits, his workplace, his address, etc] he also writes his feelings and thoughts abt this guy. when he sees Spigot with other ppl it makes his blood boil, he wants to isolate him keep him all to himself. he plans it for weeks on how he’s gonna go abt taking this guy home with him he needs to be rlly careful to not alarm anyone and be as smooth with it as possible until he finally does it. he takes spigot back home forcefully and starts molding him into what he wants him to be.

he wants someone who isn’t dificulte, someone who will listen and do whatever he says, to be utterly dependent and devoted to him. someone who reciprocates his feelings towards him the same way he feels towards them. but when spigot turns out to be the opposite of what he wants by trying to fight back this infuriates Dude. it makes him want to hurt him, put him in his place so to speak and he does. even though it "hurts" him seeing someone he loves in pain it also entertains him. he feels good doing it even though he knows he shouldn’t feel this way the power trip gets to him.

he doesn’t take care of himself so I don’t think he’d take good care of Spigot- he’d be covered in bruises and cuts, he’d be stripped bare, he’d starve him just like he starves himself, he’d cut him just like he does to himself. whenever he’d have to leave the house he’d have Spigot tied to the bed or locked in the bathroom so spigot wouldn’t have any opportunities of getting away from him. this also makes his paranoia skyrocket making leave the house less and start missing work and stuff thinking that they’re on to him or that at any moment this whole deal will be up and it’ll be over.

there comes points where he’d randomly lash out at Spigot, he’d get so angry with him that he bashes his head against something and this affects Spigot badly causing him some sort of traumatic brain injury where he’d constantly complain abt a headache that won’t go away, feeling nauseous, throwing up and messing with his memory. his already weak body would have trouble keeping himself up right that he’d constantly be losing his balance and falling down.

as I said before, he’d never would actually want to kill Spigot at any point, if Spigot dies on him it would be Dude’s breaking point. he’d go into a spiral, going out to do his little killing spree and then turning the gun on himself.
