A lonely Home that was actually a mimic posing as a house all this time so that it would always have company. However, one day it went into an unexpected hibernation and woke up to find everyone gone. Now he shapeshifts into one neighbor of his choice and makes goop projections of the rest so he can pretend that he isn't all alone. Even if it meets real people and makes new friends, it will never let anyone see it as itself. It's scared of being seen as useless and being left behind again if it uses it's true form. It likely takes the form of whatever neighbor is the most helpful or wanted at the time.
