My Manifesto
Growing up in the same house has differently treated my sleeping walking abilities to the greatest. Growing up I did not care about what people thought of me, but as I grew older there were always people judging you and looking down at you because it made them for good or they just were blunt about everything. My child self did not know how to act so I listened to the haters for a long time. As a turn to a certain age, I just started to ignore them and it was the best decision I have made because I went from not caring to be insecure and now I am back to not caring.
This is my first time writing a manifesto and also making blogs in a class, which was very interesting because this is the first time in a while I enjoyed writing. Starting from the beginning of my Blog, the introduction I had a good feeling about this class. The blogs brought out my interest because instead of reading from a textbook we were engaged in the reading assignments and writing blogs about a song, painting, and even famous monuments. The theme I would like to say from my assignments was “live, love, laugh”. I say this because in my assignments I was happy for all of them.
My favorite assignment was “My Trip To Europe”. Talking about one of my favorite trips was like singing my ABCs. This trip was phenomena because I have never been to Europe before and the amount of beautiful Italian women that were there left me speechless. One other assignment that falls under my theme was “Birthday Lights”, I enjoyed this poem because of the comparison to real life. “Light bulbs on a birthday cake. What a difference that would make!     Plug it in and make a wish,     then relax and flip a switch!” This flow was nice and it is a nice counterargument because this poem was about how the grandpa was celebrating his grandchildren’s birthday and he got disappointed because he quoted “it’s not the same!      Where’s the magic?       Where’s the flame? To get your wish without a doubt, You need to blow some candles out!”. I agree with gramps because putting candles and putting a light bulb on your birthday cake are 2 different things because you not as cherish as you would if it was a candle, therefore no one should substitute candles with light bulbs.
Another assignment that falls under my “Live, love, laugh” theme is by J Cole “Wet Dreamz” I wrote this to educate others that it is okay to be nervous while doing something in life, but you cannot act nervous. I say this because in sports like boxing the other opponent will always be a little nervous, but they never show that they are because if you do, you have already lost the mental part of the game. “Lil man” was a euphemism for Cole because you legitimately concern he wasn’t going to be big enough to satisfy his girl.” I quoted this because it falls under the “laugh” but also the “live, love” part as well because girls will not care if you have a small phallus, they care if you can respect them and become a great significant other for them. The painting I chose for catching my “eye”, this painting is a cyclops looking over at this woman as she is sleeping. After reading about this magnificent painting the truth behind this beautiful artwork is the cyclops is looking after his secret crush to protect her from any danger from anyone that attempts to hurt her. In that case, the cyclops has a lot of love for this woman even though it may not have been both ways. Talking about the Lincoln monument located in West End of National Mall, Washington DC. This 99ft tall statue of Lincoln was not here because he was assassinated, Henry Bacon created this memorial for the 16th president because stood out compared to the other president because of his bravery and kindness. For example, Lincoln worked as a store clerk in New Salem in 1831, as a human we all make mistakes therefore Lincoln overcharged a customer six pennies worth of change and he walked 5 miles to return it to the woman who he overcharged this is how he got his nickname “Honest Abe”. 78 years later, the United States Treasury stamped his bust onto the first Lincoln penny. If someone did that now with 6 pennies the customer would look at you weirdly, but if it was $60 then the customer would appreciate it a lot more. Then again it is 2 whole different periods.
After all the living, laughing, and loving, I finally got to express how I feel about the human world and society from a critical perspective. I am gonna share my blogs, make more, and make this a hobby for me because I need to write more and this is a great way to do it. My parents have helped me my whole life and all I want to do is help them now.

Surrealist Painting
"Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening“, Painting by Salvador Dalí. This is truly magnificent. An alternate title for the painting is “Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee” It was painted in 1944, I see the girl in a dream state bearing out her throat to the tigers that are attacking her illustrates our unavoidable search for danger excitement. The image is a constant portrait of juxtaposition. Pomegranate itself is a symbol of fertility and eternal life as well as blood and death. The woman is so relaxed and peaceful while they are wild animals attacking her and a giant elephant walking in the background that is an example of element contracting. The giant elephant is very unique not just because of the skinny long legs, but because it has a crystal look-alike riding the elephant. Right beneath her, you can see a bee and I am guessing that the bee is the reason why this dream happened from the title of the painting. That shows no matter how small something is, it can make a huge impact on the situation. The background looks amazing, looks like somewhere very peaceful and cool to explore.
Tumblr media
I chose this painting after my favorite artist Salvador Dalí. He is very unique with his paintings as you can see in this one. He combines a bunch of different components together like different natures in the world. He loves to play with the shape and loves to catch the viewers attention.

My trip to Europe
The theme I am going for is my trip to Italy, france, and Madrid. My family took this trip in 2019 summer time and it was such an amazing trip. I saw the mona lisa, leaning pisa tower, eiffel tower, and ect. I am going to be talking about the main spots I went to during this trip.
Tumblr media
This photo was taking right when we enter Italy central. Then a group of hustlers gave us bread in our hands and then took some pictures, before we could look at the photos they started to ask for money. I will be taking a more personal approach by telling the reader the places I visited in summer 2019 and the places I visited in Europe. This trip meant a lot to me because it was the first time my family also I have ever traveled outside of the Western Hemisphere. That trip included a series of different countries and wonderful memories.
I will be telling this trip in chronological order, the first place was Milan Italy, in this place relates to me a lot because I have family features that live there and I haven’t seen them since we went to Ecuador in 2015. In that case, it was really nice to see them finally. The second place would be talking about France, Paris this place relates to me because the cliche and everything you hear about Paris is true. Although there were no mimes which was a disappointment. The third-place that I will be talking about includes The Mona Lisa which was painted by the famous painter Leonardo Da Vinci. The place is called Louvre Pyramid and it relates to me because when I was young I always wanted to see the Mona Lisa artwork in person. The fourth place is called Venice in Italy, the rumors about this place are true, the place is literally on the water and it was the coolest place out of all of them. The final place I visited was Juliet’s house and this place meant a lot to me because back in elementary school I played in a play as Romeo.
Tumblr media
Visiting the Eiffel tower was a fun experience because at the top they serve one of the best gelatos I have ever had before. When I went to France I expected to see mines and baguettes. In reality, it was a little bit sketchy, first I saw a store worker kicking someone out for stealing and this little kid approached asking me to buy him cigarettes and alcohol. I asked him his age and he said "12" and I was thinking to myself when I was 12, I was playing football pop-warner. I tried to talk to him about not doing that because it's bad for his health. The kid couldn't understand me, I thought my 2 years of French would pay off, but it sadly didn't. Other than that we went to the Eiffel Tower and it was a lot bigger than I expected. We went to the top of the tower and the unexpected was up there, they had the best gelato ever. Later that night they put on the lights on the tower and the sightseeing was so beautiful. It's nothing like I have seen before. I'll rate my trip here a 9/10, it would have been a 10 if there weren’t so many rude people there, but overall it was marvelous.
Tumblr media
Visiting this was museum was an amazing experience especially getting yelled at by the securities to turn off my flash. This painting has a lot of meanings to it not just some random girl that Leo just wanted to paint for fun. Something funny that happened here was when my brother had to use the restroom and in Europe, they charge you to use the bathrooms. In that case, my brother didn't want to pay to use the restroom. When the lady wasn't looking George ran to the bathroom and locked the door, so the lady started to bang on the door my brother was in. When the coast was clear I talked to him thru the phone and told him to run out now. The lady started to chase us, but we used our youth’s speed to our advantage.
Tumblr media
A place far from home Venice, that was a Spider-Man reference if you did not understand it. This was one of my favorite place to visit, not only because Tom Holland was here because everything I heard about this place had lived up to it’s expectations. It remains a major Italian port in the northern Adriatic Sea and is one of the world’s oldest tourist and cultural centers." An interesting thing that happens to me when I was there was that there, I saw no police officer and the place felt like it was floating on water. History from this place was that "Spider-Man Far From Home" took place here.
Tumblr media
My visit here was amazing considering I saw Juliet and I do not think Romeo was too happy about that. Nothing or least this was one of the last big stop before heading back to the states. The bronze statue of Shakespeare's Juliet is in the courtyard of the Cappelletti house in Verona, Italy. Touching her right breast is said to bring luck. My history with this place is that when I was little there were so many talks about the famous "Romeo and Juliet" and now seeing the statue of her brings me amused.
Tumblr media
After getting yelled out by some European people, trying the amazing tasteful food they had, and spending quality time with the family. I'm glad we took so many photos to keep for memory. I hope I get to see my family again soon. Even after meeting a drunk guy that brought us drinks, I would still ride the train with him. As my fellow Italians say it "Fino alla prossima volta" means until next time. What a better way to end this trip by having a layover in Madrid, Spain. I rate this trip a 10/10, because of seeing my family and the beautiful sightseeing. I would definitely bring my future wife and kids here.

Birthday Lights
Birthday Lights BY CALEF BROWN
Light bulbs on a birthday cake. What a difference that would make!     Plug it in and make a wish,     then relax and flip a switch! No more smoke      or waxy mess      to bother any birthday guests. But Grampa says, “it’s not the same!      Where’s the magic?       Where’s the flame? To get your wish without a doubt, You need to blow some candles out!”
Birthdays are a beautiful thing because it happens once a year and it is also “your day”. You may not have felt it, but your mother did on the day you were born. They say birthdays become less fun when you get older and I agree with that because when you were a little kid you had every single kid in the class at your birthday party because your parents made you invite everyone. This day should usually be the best day ever for you. This day is not about anyone, but yourself and your presents. When I was smaller I remember I use to have a waterslide for my birthday and for my 19th birthday I also had a waterslide for my birthday party. Setting aside the fun, I also make goals for myself every year because, in reality, we all should make goals to make ourselves more accomplish in slide
This poem is saying no more candles let’s just use light bulbs so the smoke or waxy doesn’t bother the birthday guests. Then grandpa says he prefers the old fashion way of blowing out the candles. The central image is just to keep it old fashion when it comes to birthdays because blowing out will make your wishes come true. This poem had some good wordplay when it came to rhyming and a nice symbol was using the title “Birthday Lights” because of the bulb lights and candles. The narrator was the grandchild the kid mentioned his grandpa. Then when the grandpa mentioned the wishes would not become true I automatically denied the light bulb. The wax would only get messy if you have the candle lit up for longer than 2 minutes.

Musical Theme
The theme I am choosing is romance because romance has been a thing since Adam and Eve. Each of these songs is going to be talking about romance and we all had romance with somebody. This theme is very important because romance with something special you should have with a significant other. A good example of romance is Romeo and Juliet. In Romeo and Juliet, their parents would not let them be together because they are not from the same family, even the presence of a Capulet or a Montague can instantaneously start a fight because of the hatred they felt for each other. At the end of the story Romeo said “he would rather be with Juliet in death than go on living without her” that is true love right there. I have been in one relationship and after that one relationship, I learned a lot from it not only because she cheated on me, simply because I learned it is more important to focus on yourself rather than converging on romance.
Ain't Misbehavin
Song by Fats Waller
“Don't care to go
I'm home about eight
Just me and my radio”in 1920’s
“Ain't misbehavin”  the style is Stride jazz
In this song by Fats Waller, he talks about how he is loyal and does not stay out too late. He stated “I don't stay out late, I'm savin' my love for you” this says he has no one else to show his love for except for that special someone. This song to describe it very peaceful and the lyrics go perfect with what he is going for. Without the instrumental pieces, he shows that he wants her to be his romantic lover.
Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Song by Marvin Gaye
In this song Marvin says “'Cause baby, there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, baby” in 1967 pop/soul
This mean he will not let anything get in his love one. I acualltly found out about this song in one of my favorite movie Guardians of the Galaxy at the end when he got the letter from his mom right before she passed away. In the letter was a cassette tape of this song because no matter how high the mountain is Starlords mom would still love him. This falls under the love theme because it shows nothing going to stop it from getting to the other person.
Time After Time
Song by Cyndi Lauper
“Lying in my bed
I hear the clock tick, and think of you” in 1983 pop/jazz
The part of song by Cyndi Lauper she states this right off the start of the song she is thinking about her significant other. The song’s message is that she saying you can look and you can find me because she will always be there no matter what time it is.
You're Beautiful
Song by James Blunt 2004 Pop rock soft rock
“She smiled at me on the subway
She was with another man
But I won't lose no sleep on that
'Cause I've got a plan”
This romantic in some ways because he honestly thought that this was true love and she made eye contact with him. Unfortunately for James he finally faced the truth that he could never be with her.
She Will Be Loved
Song by Maroon 5
2002 Pop rock soft rock alternative rock
“Tap on my window, knock on my door, I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get so insecure, it doesn't matter anymore
It's not always rainbows and butterflies, it's compromise that moves us along, yeah”
My heart is full and my door's always open, you come anytime you want, yeah” In this quote he tells her the truth that they are gonna end up arguing and that not everything about relationships are true.
Just the Way You Are
Song by Bruno Mars 2010
pop, R&B and soft rock ballad
“Oh, her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shinin'
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful”
And I tell her every day” Bruno says this because he has so much desire for this woman. The whole purpose of this song is Bruno is frustrated at her because of her insecurity and wants to declare for her how he thinks, knows, about her.

Being born in Miami then coming to Cape Coral 2 years after makes me feel like I was born in Cape. Living in my house since 2003 because my dad likes the house and is always renovating it. Which made our house from 3 bedrooms 2 baths into 5 bedrooms and 4 baths. Pulling up into the driveway, we have beautiful palm trees, Then walking towards the front door we have a dog statue of a rottweiler. After opening the front door you are welcomed by my little bitzu name Sparky, but we did not get Sparky til 2012. Anyways the house interior has 3 colors on the walls and the kitchen used to take up a lot of room, so we changed the kitchen counters and made them better. My brother and I were sharing a room at one point, but then my lil sister moved into a bigger room and now I am in the smallest room of the house. My queen size bed takes up the majority of the space in my house. The space is divided pretty well. I like to think to myself, we all have privacy and I mainly share the bathroom with just my brother. We also have a nice living room where we like to talk and pray sometimes. My house is very homie to me, but sometimes when I have a friend spending the night, they get scared because they hear a “ghost” which I do not think is a ghost in the house. The house feels welcoming because my neighborhood is very clean and my house is more welcoming with the blinds open. The only thing that we need to change about the house is the paint on the house and the old wooden fences that my dad just likes to cover them with red paint. I think it is very unique because I feel like we are the only house with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths in the neighborhood.
One of the other spaces I inhabit is Around The Clock Fitness gym. It is always a great thing to see the gym bros getting yolk just like myself. The environment is very friendly and the workers are as well. Some people go to you when they see you doing an exercise with bad form. My favorite part about the gym is the sauna room and I swear I lost some water weight staying in there for 15 minutes. Comparing this to my home is pretty difficult because this is my second home after all I do pay rent for using the gym facility. I spend about 12 hours a week at the gym. A lot of people think I just go there for the pictures, But in reality I come to open up my mind and release any stress I have and I love working on myself. Even though this place is crowded on Monday and Tuesday, I still love it and I am glad my brother got me a membership here.

This is the ‘Lincoln Memorial’ designed by Henry Bacon, you can find this beautiful memorial in Washington DC. This Monument took 8 years to complete through 1914-1922. This monument was created to represent the 16th president of the United States of America. This symbolizing Lincoln’s noble-like status in the hearts and minds of Americans, also based on a Greek temple.
A subject on this sculpture was to represent how Lincoln stood out compared to the other president because of his bravery and kindness. This sculpture captured many eyes not just because it is 19ft tall, because Lincoln was assassinated 2 years before making the monument and helped out the Union for the people. The culture behind this monument was the Lincoln Monument Association. He wanted to abolish slavery and a souther slave supported thought he wanted to destroy his south that led to John Wilkes Booth's assassination on Lincoln. If Lincoln did not side with the Union and chose to side with the Confederate, who would have happened. They probably would have made a statue in Florida for him or slavery would have kept going for longer as well as Abraham’s life.
The values of the culture were that the people of the North wanted to abolish slavery and the people of the south did not. The structure measures 189.7 by 118.5 feet (57.8 by 36.1 m) and is 99 feet (30 m) tall. It is surrounded by a peristyle of 36 fluted Doric columns. The exact location is West End of National Mall, Washington DC. This statue is at the National Mall and 2 miles from the U.S capital.

This painting is called the ‘Cyclops’ and it was painted by Odilon Redon in 1914. There are so many shades of color to make it stand out and different. This painting may look scary, but in reality the cyclops is looking over his crush. It is crazy to think that this good painting was drawn during 1914. In the painting the cyclops does not look like the smartest living thing. His secret admirer looks like she is resting without knowing the cyclops is there.
Drawing has never been my strong suit, although I always try to get into it, but time is not on my time sometimes. Not my strongest suit because when I was younger I could not draw to save my life. I see my fellow classmates in class drawing while the professor is talking and she draws this beautiful flower and it was so detailed that you can tell what type of flower it was from her black pen. Once in class she made an origami boat from a windex wet wipe. She taught me how to make it, in that case that is probably the only thing I can drive.

Wet Dreamz
youtube
Started as a dream then became a reality for J Cole, this song ‘Wet Dreamz’ has more meaning than a sexual saying. He talks about losing his virginity with a girl that he is about to do the nasty with. This song also takes back memories of if we were your high school, trying to act like we “know it all” but in fact, we do not know anything about reality. This song talks about some real problems like standing up with an erection, which is a dilemma for most men. This is also called nocturnal emission, where you think you are doing something, but in reality, you are sleeping. When he said “I ain’t never did this before, no,” he thought that to himself if he should just say that to his partner or just front and act like he’s been there before. This shows that sometimes in life you just have played it off. “Lil man” was a euphemism for Cole because you legitimately concern he wasn’t going to be big enough to satisfy his girl. In reality, girls should just like you for you no matter what size and if they do not like you because of your size then she’s not worth your time. The theme this song raised was to make his listeners know it is okay to be nervous the first time with your first love.
A little about Jermaine Lamarr Cole was born in Frankfurt Germany and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He got into hip-hop through his stepfather’s copy of 2Pacalypse. Cole has won 8 BET Hip Hop Awards, 3 Soul Train Awards, 1 Billboard Music Award, & 1 Grammy Award. Cole is ever-striving, heading for the top, and enjoying an enterprising, ambitious, also very determined personality to do things well. His first well-known song was The Come Up, in early 2007. In high school, he received really good grades that earned him an academic scholarship to the University of St John, where he knew he would make progress as a musician.
I am not sure if this song is too inappropriate, but I think it is appropriate especially for students straight from high school like myself or older. This song shows that it is okay to be nervous doing anything just do not act nervous, just be yourself. The moment you try to be someone else is the moment the lost. You can always get up and try again. This concludes my blog for today.

I started college right after high school because my mom did not want me to take a gap year. I am glad she did that therefore I will not fall back from my studies. After I get my associates degree I plan on attending UCF to pursue my Health Science degree to become a physical therapist. One of my hobbies include working out it is something I started to do in July on 2020. I believe I have made a lot of progress since then. I am taking this class because it is a requirement for my degree, but I also enjoy learning about society and the history.
