is the kid okay? is there anything else that we can do?
They aren’t, unfortunately. If so, I don’t think we would be interacting with Teleios’s children out of our own volition. Mother wouldn’t approve that.
Either way, we appreciate your concern, immensely so. If you really wish helping us, you could take a look at the task list we put out. Any and all aid is appreciated.
Warm wishes,

amarus and ambrosia: where did you two come from?
I finally get to answer some mail, how exciting!
Ah, let’s see... We come from Diortius, a far away land with slightly warmer climate. I’d love to give an estimate just about how far it is from here, but we didn’t exactly have a chance to keep track of time before getting stranded. All we know is that it is indeed far away from the Great White.
If you have any other questions, I’ll gladly answer them if Amarus quits stealing my mail.
Warm wishes,

adonis, do you know ambrosia and amarus?
Hello,
I am not familiar with the two of them, no, nor did I know of their group’s existence. It’s both shocking and impressive knowing that they had made it this far without permanently settling anywhere, especially considering the ages of some of them... I wonder if the goddess has sent them as a message for something more... It would be impossible for me to know.
Whether or not they are strangers, it is my priority to provide the best care possible while they set up temporary residence here; supporting one another has been our way of life here for some time, and none of us intend for that to change.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Regards,

Note
who are the mothers?
our mothers? do you mean lunaria and aequoris? i suppose i should start from the beginning, those who stay in eidolon seem... isolated.
there are obviously more goddesses out there than just your diaidem and teleios, those from my group worship lunaria and aequoris, the moon and sea respectively. when the two meet, their union is represented by a third goddess that takes both of their attributes, marelua, hence our name.
not everyone is blessed with parents, and those who are may be better off without them. aequoris and lunaria direct those who need family towards each other, and we more or less form a ragtag familial unit.
there is more than one group of marelua's children, of course. the group that ambro and i are in charge of are just the only ones in the great white, and we didn't exactly mean to end up here.
i hope that answered your question?

Good afternoon, everyone.
I understand that right now is clearly a time of stress and confusion, which I apologize deeply for. As there are people who need our aid, I implore you to land any help that you feel comfortable providing as we try to find a cure for this starsickness. Please be patient and pray: should we work together, everything will turn out fine.
Thankfully, the heads of this group: Ambrosia and Amarus, will be available to answer any questions that you may have, whether it be about themselves and their associations or about the sickness itself. I (Adonis) will also be available should you need me for anything... We will all answer your questions to the best of our ability when able.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,

how Did Cato get his own Library?
Good question, my dear Anon.
It isn't so much that I "got" my own library, it's more that I converted the majority of my house into a library because I'm very passionate about the preservation of literature and there was no other place in the village that was meant for such things. Nobody complained because it's traditional for older members of the village to build their own houses, and Helle helped me make my home more... appropriate as a gathering place.
I hope that answered your question!

Hey Cato is 0 a number? Yes, no? Discuss.
Now, this is an interesting question! By my definition, I would count zero as both more of a concept than it is a number, but it does still have value despite the value being nothing. After all, every other real number stands for something when considered in the world of trading, financing, and keeping track of things, whether it be a positive number or a negative number. Zero simply represents the absence of something, which is a necessary concept, especially in accounting.
Does that... make sense?

❅ june ; issue 06.
Oh junebug, oh junebug! I hear of water and fortune and riches beyond my imagination in your prophecies, but can you tell me when my heart will split in two?
Hello everyone, and welcome to this month’s issue of the Alpine Aurora. My name is Lucere! I’m glad to announce that things are back in order this month, and seem set to stay that way. That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to look out for, though, so... without further ado, onto the issue!
; weather forecast
The blizzard we expected for last month has, in fact, just now come upon us. It seems it will stay for a full week, so be sure to tread carefully until it is over. After that, the weather will clear up very quickly, with gentle and refreshing winds against the warmer temperature. Perfect to get a little work done! Take it easy as June begins, and then put your all into the rest of the month...!
; whistle sightings
I would hope most people wouldn’t travel there without the proper caution in the first place, but... recently, groups of whistles have been spotted at Opsis Cliffs. The crystals on their bodies allow them to blend in with the large pieces of ice that jut out of the snow, making the climb even more perilous than usual if one happens to be unexpectedly in your path. I advise avoiding the area altogether for now -- if you really need to go, at least give one of the hunters a call for a proper escort.
; monthly advice
The weather is warmer, and it seems the most recent unfortunate development is a slippery landscape. Most frighteningly, much of the melting and re-freezing that happens creates black ice on pathways, ready to catch one unawares. Pherilune’s store is selling friction heavy shoes to compensate. It seems she’s worked hooks into them, emulating sandpaper... be careful not to get close to anyone’s face with these, and we should all be safer.
It isn’t all bad, though. The clear air has left the skies just as clear, and this month should be perfect for stargazing! Of course, it isn’t exactly high on everyone’s priority list... but it’s something I enjoy with a cup of hot cocoa. Perhaps stop by Cato’s library if you are unfamiliar with Eidolon’s constellations...! It’s certainly rewarding to spot them in the sky.
The weather also seems to be making flowers bloom in abundance just about everywhere, making it easier to find them! If you are looking for some for alchemy use, or even for decoration, now is the time to get out there and collect some. Perhaps there is even enough for a bouquet, if that would strike your fancy...? There’s no better time than now.
; advertisements
This month, we have a request from Penuel... you will be pleased to know he has made a full recovery from the events during the festival! When the last issue was published, it wasn’t possible for him to put out an advertisement due to his injuries, but the incident with the whistles made it clear that we need more medical staff, both for emergencies and in general.
If anyone is willing to be trained, do stop by the Warmhouse! He promises to be around more often, which is a rare treat indeed.
That’s all for now! If you haven’t already, or even if you have, if you have any questions for us, be sure to send your questions through the mailbox! We’ll be happy to answer, whether they’re big or small.
And with that, I’ll set down my pen for another month. Take care, travel safe -- and my Diaidem always be with you.

Hey Premo, what's the worse injury you've ever seen in Eidolon?
the worst injury, huh,,,well, if you’ve been here during vivienne’s festival, you’d know that, uhm, things weren’t quite as peaceful as we’d hoped, pen got really hurt, it was a bit gruesome, there were a few other people as well,,,please don’t fight whistles if you aren’t prepared, the crystals covering their bodies are quite sharp and, oh, oh,,,
well, i would rather not go too much into details, i think you can draw your own conclusions.

frederika will you go out with me
Oh, darling…
Make an effort. You either sell me into the idea, or quit wasting my time altogether. I’m a busy woman, you know. Shallow invitations like these are nothing more than a confirmation that I’m clearly a luxury you cannot afford.
How boring.
Sincerely,
➼Frederika

How do you almost drown in a hot spring?
Life can be strange when you least expect it, or, more specifically, when you don’t want it to. I was testing a new product that would better relax the muscles and sooth the soul per Miss Alepolis’ request, and I unfortunately put far too much for the dosage of it. Before I knew it, I had drifted off, only hearing her scream before I blacked out entirely. (Most often for the rest of the day, if not longer.)
In better news however, it is good to know that this particular brand will not need nearly as much to procure visible results. I’d consider that to be a scientific achievement, wouldn’t you? It’s so disappointing when you don’t dedicate yourself, body and all, to your craft. 😊 If need be, I’d happily do it again.
Thank you for the question.
Best,
⁂ Vasili.

Good evening, everyone!
As you may or may not have seen, the Alpine Aurora is taking on a new initiative where newer residents are able to send older residents questions, and we'll gladly answer them to the best of our ability. This is to lessen the barrier between the new and old here in the village, due to the fact that we should all get to know each other a little better.
Generally speaking, three or so residents will be picked a week to answer any question you'd like to send their way. This week is an exception, and we have plenty of volunteers that are all very excited to speak to you.
That's all for now, and may Diaidem bless you always.

❅ may ; issue 05.
Is it alright if I indulge in these sentimental thoughts? Remembering is all I can do.
Hello everyone, and welcome to this month’s issue of the Alpine Aurora. My apologies for the lateness of this issue… in the end, all of us had to pitch in this past month, and I was hardly excluded. I was crafting bows for the hunters to use during this time and, of course, keeping a close eye on Luca. I hope you all remained safe in your efforts as well.
With that said and done, though, I’ve managed to pull something together, albeit not quite what I expected to be preparing for this month. That is what this paper is for though, isn’t it? May it serve you well...!
; weather forecast
The weather will continue to be particularly warm from here on out. It’s hardly surprising, as Teleios has graced us rather generously, but watch out for any stray whistles that are still wandering from any melted structures. Overall, it seems the warmer weather will be usual from now... but there is potential for a blizzard in a week or so, though, so don’t let your guard down!
; whistle sightings
I didn’t really want this to become a section in the Aurora, but it seems there isn’t much other option at the current moment -- the whistles are here to stay, despite the best efforts of the hunters. Any clusters or groups that have been spotted will be warned of here, but it certainly isn’t exhaustive, so be careful when exploring regardless...!
Recently, clusters of whistles have been spotted in Silvermoss Forest, so it would be best to exercise caution if travelling there, or avoid it if possible. They blend in surprisingly well due to the silvery colouring of the trees, and our witness only became aware of them due to hearing the snap of a twig just in time. All in all, it isn’t a safe hunting spot, so keep it in mind.
; monthly advice
The past few weeks took a toll on the village, and there’s a lot of repair work to be done. The borders of outer Eidolon are particularly scruffy following scuffles with whistles, and could do with some patching up now that we’re finally in the clear... do stop by to help with the repairs if you have a spare moment. There’s something to be done for everyone’s level of skill.
With that said, though, the weeks have left their mark not only on the structures -- it’s been a long and tiring time for all of us as well! Because of this, the village baker, Somi, has volunteered to hold an event giving out free sweetcakes to celebrate the ordeal being over! Please drop by to relax and unwind amidst any recovery efforts... and be sure to say thank you!
Finally, since the weather is growing warmer, it does seem about time to pick up some clothes more suitable for the less bitter chill. Of course, it would be foolish to go outside in one layer... but if you don’t own any thinner coats, perhaps this would be a good opportunity to stop by the Cornerstore?
; advertisements
This month, we have just one request for an advertisement... only very recently having come in, in fact! As the various educational classes around the village grow in popularity, it seems an art assistant is wanted for painting and coloured pencil classes! It sounds a lovely opportunity... I do enjoy a little watercolour painting every so often, and I would definitely take it up myself if I had the time!
...Regardless, I don’t exactly find that sort of free time nowadays. If you’re interested in the offer, do report to Cato’s library when the usual academic classes are being held.
For this month, then, that is all we have. If you have any requests for advertisements for next month, along with any letters or packages, please send them to our mailbox with the appropriate labelling. As business goes back to normal, we’ll be doing our very best to serve you as we always have!
As always, thank you dearly for reading. Travel safe, recover, and may Diaidem ever watch over you!
