           “  OF COURSE I AM.  you think i really trust you lot to protect history without me complaining about how damaged the timeline will be? i know they’ll be under good supervision though, since you’re captain now.  ”   leaving would be rude, rip knows that. sara  &  jax risked their lives going into his subconscious because they were so motivated to get him back to normal. despite that, rip wants to leave ;  mainly because the burden of the legion of doom still stayed with him.       ( there was also the fact that he suddenly felt inferiority after seeing sara work so well as captain once he made his return, as well. )

           after a minute, rip looks back at sara, thinking about what she said–  ‘ are you ever coming back? ’    “  do you not want me to leave, sara? because i can always stay if you tell me to.  ”

that’s the problem. she doesn’t want him to leave . of course she doesn’t . rip has become such a stable presence in her life . SARA DOESN’T TRUST EASY , but she trusts him with her life and he knows it . for him to want to leave ? it hurts like hell . if he asked , she’d give up control of the ship in a second . rip is too proud to ask , though , not unlike herself . 

❛ i know it’s not the same thing , but i know a thing or two about not feeling like yourself after the things you’ve done . i can’t make you stay , rip . if you need to leave , all i can do is wish you well . ❜ she bites her lip , wondering if she should leave of wait for his response . a part of her can’t bear to see him walk away .

she gives a knowing smirk . she’s not exactly used to this kind of brutal honesty from rip hunter .  ❛ all girls are queens , rip . ❜ she replies , as if the answer was obvious . just because she’s dragging him off before he can make a fool of himself publicly doesn’t mean there’s not chances for him to do so in private .  ❛ hmm , i never was one for writing poetry . i prefer to paint pictures with an actual brush . does this mean some queen has parchment of you WAXING POETIC about her ? ❜

she’s not afraid for herself . as scared as she is of dying for real , the thing she fears the most is how rip will feel once they’ve saved him . will he remember this ? she hopes to any god that he wont .

the barrel of the gun she knows so well is aimed at her this time . things have changed so fast , this moment only making it more obvious .  ❛ rip , YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THIS . no one has to get hurt . you don’t want to do this . ❜ she keeps her voice steady , never wavering . but she is the farthest from calm .
